Klasse: Klimaanlage. Zimmer geräumig, sauber, angenehm gestaltet. Ital. Frühstück: Duftiger Croissant, Kaffee. Wir werden ganz sicher wiederkommen!!

Great location. Difficult to find on first arrival as there was no where to park our car otherwise it was a great location. Excellent breakfast for Europe. Clean and spacious but the shower didn't drain properly. Some rooms had amazing views but not ours. Hotel reception staff were lovely and informed us our luggage transfers were free. We found 2 gentlemen in our room when we arrived the luggage person and the garage person. We had already left our key with reception and were paying an 18 euro fee per night for the care of our car. The garage person sat in a chair in the room and wouldn't leave until we gave him a tip our children were scared he was going to come back. On our departure he would not bring our car any earlier than 8.30 despite us having an early flight to catch in Rome, making it a very stressful day for our family.

Pictures on internet were misleading, however, the staff handled things politely and for one night I have no complaints.

The hotel was really nice s well as the staff. If you would like to stay in the quite and old fashioned surroundings this is the best choice. In this hotel you can feel like in XIX century palace only with the modern facilities like bath room, TV and wi-fi internet. The only thing what I would recommend is to call to the hotel in advance and inform them about what time and where you arrive in Amalfi, so that they will organize free of charge luggage delivery service. There’s small difficulty to get to the hotel with luggage is steps, that’s why you will need this service. The staff is really helpful and friendly. I really liked the surrounding of the hotel, it’s situated close to the central square and to the beach. I do recommend this hotel as for single traveler as well as for couples. I’m sure that I will return to Amalfi and stay in Lidomare hotel.

palazzo d'epoca potenzialmente molto bello ma scarsamente valorizzato. Rispetto alle foto online un pò più "triste". Location perfetta rispetto al centro di amalfi. Personale gentilissimo. Buona colazione.

My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lidomare. We were impressed by the kindness and efficiency of the manager and staff. It might be a good idea however for the hotel to consider offering a buffet type of breakfast - we are sure that would be a valued service particularly to guests coming from northern European countries.

excellent for us. We had a room facing the haven. No noise . Very good balance between price and quality. Facility of parking offered with 16€. No access to the hotel with the car. You have to let it on the haven (200m) or ask the hotel. ( The best )

The room at the hotel was very clean and we had a balcony overlooking the harbour which was absolutely brilliant, we were so happy to find that when we booked in. It was lovely sitting at the balcony ovelooking the harbour and watching the ferries coming in with tourists while we were getting ready to go out for the evening. The hotel itself is very clean and the people on reception were always polite, courteous and helpful. It is very central, as soon as you go down the steps you are right in the square with all the restaurants etc, the buses and ferries are about 5 minutes away. The hotel was a bit difficult to find and we had to ask but once we found it, it was fine. We had to climb some steps which was fine but it is no good if you have a disability or have a wheelchair. Breakfast was continental and it was ok, it was adequate and everything was fresh. The only thing was that it was a bit noisy at night with all that was going on in the harbour but once you close the balcony doors it is very quiet, but hey you are on holiday so it does not matter. We stayed in the hotel for 6 days and we have no complaints at all, the room was nice with an en suite shower, the towels were changed every day and even the sheets were changed at least once while we were there. The outside of the hotel looks a bit tired and shabby and could do with being freshly painted, also it would help if the sign was more prominently displayed so that it will be easier to find but apart from that it was great. I would certainly recommend this hotel as apart from being spotlessly clean I think it is very good value for money, will definitely stay there again if we visit Amalfi and will recommend it to my friends. Thank you Lidomare for a wonderful stay in Amalfi.

A lovely cozy hotel with the nicest owner and other staff, all very helpful. We were in Amalfi for only three days and wished for more time. The Lidomare is very convenient for walking around town and just minutes from the bus stops which makes it an excellent base for exploring other towns along the coast. We had a charming room furnished with antiques. It was a little noisy at night simply because facing the sea also means facing the road and the buses, but it was worth it for the view. We can't wait to go back.

a delightful base, and a welcoming hotel once you have pulled up the few but very steep steps to the entrance. The Camera family couldn't be more helpful. Rooms have an individual feel, with antique and very'Italian' furnishings and colourfully tiled shower room. Little breakfast room also idiosyncratic and pleasant, with breakfast partly spread out on top of grand piano! Well placed for exploring Amalfi and for accessing transport along the coast. Hotel staff very helpful about walking, and the path from Amalfi to Ravello is highly recommended.
USA, Mar 2009
Staff/owners very nice, very helpful. Rooms were beautiful. Location was actually better than I expected from web site. Shopping. beach and church only steps away. Only bad point - bus parking lot right across the street. Ah, the smell of bus fumes in the morning! Otherwise, I loved it!

Based on venere.com reviews of Hotel Lidomare we were braced for a challenging trek from the Amalfi bus stop to its front door. But it’s actually easily visible from the bus stop, literally two minutes away although finding the front door is a bit tricky if you’re not used to Amalfi’s layout. Yes, there are steps to climb but no more than you’d expect in a town clinging to a cliffside. Our room was a good size, very airy and with a superb ocean view. Furnishings were antique or quasi-antique, but clean. The bathroom had its own oceanview window and was reasonably functional but I’ll never understand why hotels install Jacuzzi bathtubs. If you’ve never used one before I guess there’s a novelty value, but otherwise they’re a pain when it comes to the simple task of cleaning yourself up and getting on with the day. Give me a well-appointed shower any day. Breakfast is of good quality but all sweet stuff. Staff are courteous and pretty fluent in English, to which they revert even when you’re trying your Italian. They might have been a bit more forthcoming on information about their town and the surrounding area. Restaurant recommendation was OK without being a “discovery”, and we did find ourselves seated next to an ultra-loud version of people we traveled across the globe to get away from. But that’s what you get when you go to restaurants recommended to tourists. There’s a small supermarket close to Lidomare and all kinds of wine shops charging tourist prices. Amalfi itself was spectacular, breathtaking. We wished we’d doubled our three-night stay. One day was spent getting to and from Paestum, a very worthwhile trip but it takes longer than you think if you’re going under your own steam. Key is to not purchase bus tickets at the Salerno train station. SITA buses are only one of a multitude going to Paestum from the Lungomare, and the others don’t take SITA tickets – you pay as you board and they’re cheaper than SITA.

This hotel is hard to find. You can see it from the outside but the path to the door is hidden. You must go into the square outside the front of the cathedral. Then, with the cathedral on your right, the entry is on the left around the corner. A small sign shows the way. Then up a few steps into a hidden square with the hotel at the end. Great location. We looked straight onto the port. Main road outside is noisy but you can close the doors for quietness. Take breakfast in the room. Much nicer then the breakfast room. Rooms are very spacious. Ours came with a spa bath. Great for people watching.

The location of Lidomare is simply excellent. A few steps off the main historical square of Amalfi, quiet (at least my room was, as it was not facing any street) but truly centrally located. Very nice staff, clean and comfortable bathroom - I highly recommend this hotel!

Lidomare comes with major pluses and minuses. First of all, it probably isn't fair for me to comment about the rooms. because as a single traveler, I think I had the worst room in the entire hotel. It was the size of a broom closet. In fact, just room for a tiny skinny single bed and a lamp on a microscopic table. No chair, no closet, and a very tiny bathroom. I saw some of the other rooms when the maids were cleaning, and they were all much better. So if you go, be sure to not get room #45, because it was definitely below par, and this coming from someone who is used to Europe's small rooms and doesn't complain often. I actually tried to upgrade but the other rooms were full. Also, the hotel has no lift and so I was forced to deal with a 40+ pound suitcase and several flights of stairs (although the staff did help me carry the case up the stairs on the day I arrived). That being said, the hotel was OK. It has a very good location within easy walking distance of the port and bus station, the only logical ways to arrive in Amalfi. DO NOT try to drive on the Amalfi coast unless you have a death wish, as the road down the coast is beautiful to look at but a complete nightmare to drive. The hotel serves an OK breakfast and the stairs leading up to the hotel take you right on to Amalfi's main square, yet the stairs to the hotel insulate it from the noise of the square. So you can easily walk everywhere you want to go in Amalfi once staying there. The desk person speaks English, but the rest of the staff does not. The hotel is a bit run down, but nothing drastic. It really has no internet access, and should probably be rated a 2 rather than 3 star hotel.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Super location, a great town centre base for exploring Amalfi, Ravello and sourrounding areas. We were fortunate enough to have a room with a terrace overlooking the sea (I think that most do). The hotel has a classy feel of a bygone era stuffed with antique furniture, old pictures, books and other quirky bits and bobs.

This hotel has an incredible location and for the price is very god value. Our room had a balcony overlooking the main waterfront piazza. A charming and professionally run hotel. All aspects of our stay were exceptional and we were delighted with the authentic and beautiful decor of the hotel. The location is perfect for those wishing to explore Amalfi (or to get a boat ride up the coast). Though the Floridiana scores more highly on the website we checked it out and definitely the family run intimacy of the Lidomare. We highly recommend this hotel.

This is a nice little hotel in a perfect area. The rooms for 4 people were large. The price was great compared to others in the same area. They were able to accomodate 2 families of 4 and we were not squeezed in at all. Amalfi is a great town, not as crowded as Positano for a fraction of the price. Most of the rooms have no view, but not necessary as we didn't stay in our room much. I definitely would stay here again. We wished we could stay a few more days!

Maria and her brother were a joy to stay with. They made it feel like you were a family member staying over in their home. They were very accommodating. The room was gem, very spacious and the balcony overlooked the ocean from the second floor (looking past the building and street below. The highlight was the amazing fireworks that were displayed right above our balcony that filled up the night like a neon umbrella.

The Lidomare is situated in a quiet courtyard a short flight of steps away from the beautiful main town square. It's not as difficult to find as some previous reviews have suggested and is clearly sign posted from the main square. The hotel itself is very charming with interesting and sometimes strange antiques lining its long corridors. Our room was twice the size of the room we'd had in Rome, with a beautiful mosaic tile floor. My only complaint would be the quality of the breakfast. If you have a sweet tooth then you'll be fine as you get bread and jam and a very sickly apricot jam filled croissant. They provide no fruit or fresh fruit juice, however, and the coffee was the worst I've ever had in Italy. Some guests were subsidising what was provided and bringing their own food to the table. Not a good sign! The woman who served breakfast seemed to be in a permanent foul mood and treated the guests with disdain, though the owners were more welcoming. Overall, it's a charming hotel in an excellent location, though the breakfast needs improving. Amalfi itself is beautiful and we were very sorry to leave.

We loved this hotel! Very cute, clean, and quiet place in a great location near center of town. Some of the other hotels we stayed during this trip did not live up to their pictures but Lidomare definitely did. The staff was very accomodating too. There are numerous stairs to get to Lidomare so it was quite a struggle to get our luggage up to the top but the gentleman at the front desk raced out to assist us and even took us straight to our room without making us check in first. Would have loved a room with a view of the sea but we made our reservations at the last-minute. Would absolutely stay there again and would highly recommend to others.

We stayed at Lidomare for two nights. The hotel is in old palace....if you like antique furniture, thick wall and you don’t mind a bit of damp it is a great place! It provides only continental breakfast (bread, jamb, croissan),but not cheese or ham ,The owners are friendly and willing to help. Our room was with a balcony overlooking the seafront (the main road as well),very big and with a iacuzzi bath. The main square is just around the corner.

The purpose of mt trip was to find inspiration for my writing. This reason resulted in my desision to vacation on the coast. The Lidomare fit the purpose of my trip. I found the hotel to be as cozy as the town of Amalfi. The staff went out of the way to accomadate any request that I had. They printed out schedules and info from the internet at my request. They took care of any request i had for my room. The room overlooked the small Piazza on the backside of the hotel. I was able to open the doors onto the terrace each morning to allow the sounds of every day Italian life into my room. The hotel is in the center of all activities in Amalfi but yet remains a peaceful solace to its guest.

The hotel was up a small alley and signage was difficult to view from the road with the directions given. The room was spacious and the floors immaculate. The location was central for an Amalfi visit. The room was on the main road and the windows and deck access had to be closed to avoid the road noise and vehicle fumes from entering the room, but did, however, eliminate the noise when closed. The view was excellent. I recommend the hotel as a good value for a base to explore the surrounding area, but not if you want to sit on the balcony and enjoy the surroundings.

We were happy that we chose the Lidomare for our stay on the Amalfi coast. We were very warmly welcomed at the door by the owner who seemed to be expecting us at exactly that moment as he greeted us by name. The room was spacious and clean and the public areas and breakfast room were very nice and furnished with interesting antiques. The family who own the hotel were helpful when needed. We had a beautiful view of the sea from our large balcony and the hotel was near to the main part of town and the bus stop. We would stay there again.

This is a gem. It's tucked away off the main plaza. You have to climb lots of steps just to get to it, but once you do, it's delightful. It's old and not as clean as a Holiday Inn, but our room was huge and had a small balcony looking out on the sea and all the portside activity. Breakfast was good and the staff very helpful. We were sorry to leave. If you have a car, you stop in the taxi area while one person runs up to ask that the car be collected. "Vincenzo" shows up and takes it away to the garage. This cost E12 per day, but was very convenient.

Wonderful hotel. The couple who run the hotel arranged to have our car picked up from the main square and parked for us (there is little or no parking in Amalfia), and were very welcoming. Very pleasant staff. A good central location. Only bad comment is about the single room I had, It's not shown in the pictures & it is small. There are a couple of hooks to hang clothes behind a curtain but nowhere else to put clothes. The room is about 6foot x 15foot with the ensuite in one corner. No bath, so no jacuzzi as mentioned in hotel details. Didn't spend much time in my room so it was not really a problem. Had a job to find hotel when I first arrived, ask for the Sant Andrea Cathedral then stand with your back to the Cathedral steps, you'll see a small alley on the opposite side of the square slightly to your right. Go in there & up the left hand stairs, when you get to the top the Lidomare is opposite on your left with a sign outside. The best beach is at Atrani, a 15 minute walk around the coast road. Its not so busy as Amalfi's beach.

What a welcoming staff. They answered all questions and were very helpful. I had a car and they called for the garage to pick up the car and deliver the car. Give about 20 minutes lead time to get the car back. It was 16 euro a day. I had a little trouble finding the hotel, but asked a shop owner and was directed up the stairs and there was the hotel. A little hint once you are in the square it is across from the duomo. Go through the little arch take the steps on your left. I will stay there again. I was by myself in a single room, but when I go back with my wife I will stay in room 34 which is a gorgeous space.

It was a great stay and great location. I paid $102 for a one night on new year's eve and it is literally located in center of the city. by the square (City is small, but still) The best thing about the hotel is that the hotel owner who knew who we were as we arrived to the hotel. I think it is family owned, and every staff are truly nice. When we could not find any restaurants to eat that night, he called 3 or 4 restaurants to find us a place to eat. The Lidomar hotel in Amalfi is in my view not worth 3 stars and its rate.Actually, on the plaque outside the hotel there are 2 stars + 1 added - slightly off centre and in a different red. It's a nice little hotel, but too expensive for what it is. From memory the photos don't do this hotel justice. The manager was very helful when we called to say when we would arrive and explained how and where to get the bus from Salerno. Our room had been recently renovated!

My only concern was that they did not appear to have our reservation, although we were lucky and they were able to fit us in

We had a most pleasant stay at Lidomare! The people were ever so friendly and all the rooms / areas were kept very clean. The location was excellent. I did find however that the size of the room as a triple B&B was very small. We did see a couple of other (double) rooms which were FAR larger. I personally would not have sold this room as a triple especially since we booked well in advance. Other than that we had a great time and would certainly come back!

We had a great 2 night stay here. The room was comfortable and spacious. The location of the hotel was excellent and still great value for the dollar! The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

Very nice location but difficult to find the entrance. WEB-site should better add detailed map for this hotel. Staffs are kind and good character. Room is small. Extra beds were awful quality.

This lovely centrally located hotel was just off the main piazza and offered excellent value for money and a genuine family hospitality. We cannot recommend it enough.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Lidomare. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room was very cosy and comfortable. Amalifi is a little wonderful town by the coast of Amalfi and the hotel was perfectly located near the piazza and the duomo. I would strongly recommend the hotel to ohter guests.

Very very nice welcoming, best quality price for all our travel in Italy. Well situated near the Duomo, but not necessarily best view on the sea. No parking : they suggest a private one in the sector, they take your vehicle and bring it back : unfortunately with breaches on the body that they do no recognise. So take care about this (but this is not the hotel).

Very good location in the centre of Amalfi - close to harbour and Piazza Duomo. Prices are high like everywhere in Amalfi. Room is nicely quiet, with ac and TV. Breakfast is very poor: 1 Brioche and 1 roll with some marmalade + butter. Staff is friendly.

Lidomare was the best hotel (value for money) during my whole time in Italy. The staff were friendly and welcoming, it was in a great location and the place is a credit to them. My friends and I would not hesitate in recommending Lidomare to anyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Please pass on my thanks to the owner/manager.

This hotel is very central and close to everything in Amalfi, and felt very safe for a single, female traveller. I would recommend calling the hotel directly though and making a private reservation, since if you have to cancel a night like I did, then you run into the problem of having to still pay for the cancelled night's commission from the website, which of course, comes out to more than you always expect!

The only inconvenience is the absence of the parking. The aviable alternative-the particular garage of mr.Antonio Esposito is a little bit unefficient with a long waiting period until bringing the car-in one situation almost one hour. The other facilities and the hospitality-excelent. Thank you.

We had a lovely room at the Lidomare. It was quite large and nicely furnished, with a balcony that overlooked the street, water, and bus parking. It is family owned they were very helpful and pleasant. We would definitely return there.

A lovely hotel in a perfect setting, with beautiful antique furniture. The Camera family are unfailingly hospitable and helpful. The hotel is easily to be seen from the main road, but finding the entrance is a bit of a puzzle; however, that is part of Amalfi's charm.

Hotel Lidomare was a nice hotel with a view of the ocean. It was very close to the main piazza of Amalfi, and it is a good place to stay to see the Amalfi Coast.

Excellent quiet hotel in the best town of the Amalfi Coast. Very classy place in an old palazzo with lots of antique. BBC World Service available on TV. Definitely recommended
