Hotel Il Saraceno - Amalfi

The place is a bit away from Amalfi but they have shuttles and it's a welcome retreat from the center of town. The only drawback is that they don't have a gym.

We stayed for one week and were positively surprised. Hotel was clean service was good and the beach area was fantastic.

The standard of rooms for the price were very poor.Staff were mostly very helpful and friendly but bar service left a lot to be desired.The beach area was closed for the whole of our stay and the previus 2 weeks but we were only informed 2 days prior to travel. this may have been a grand hotel at some time but not any time recently.

A beautiful hotel, with friendly charming staff. Stunning views from the room, lovely beach. The swimming pool is not for people with vertigo!

The staff were very arrogant and rude, with exception of reception and resturant.

Surroundings were exceptional, service excellent, but the non smoking room smelled cold tobacco, and the air conditioning system was noisier than a jet engine on take off. But the view was astounding and the staff very professional.

Stayed at the hotel for beginning of honeymoon. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The views from the rooms are lovely and the Il Saraceno website photos do not do the hotel justice.

It was our first visit to the Amalfi coast, and it would not have been perfect without a stay at Il Saraceno. The cleanliness, the hospitality and the service were second to none, with special thanks to Vincenzo at the front desk who really gave us the "non tourist" in's and out's of the area. The views from the hotel are spectacular, and the private beach is one of the best in Amalfi or Positano, especially on sundays when over 100 yachts anchor just off the beach to swim in the crystal clear water. Definitely would recommend this property and I will stay there again on my next visit.

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION, HOWEVER HOTEL NEEDS A LOT OF "REFRESHING TOUCHES" (LINEN, TOWELS, PAINT). AT PRESENT I WOULD CLASSIFY IT AS 3* AT THE BEST. STAFF COULD ALSO BE A BIT MORE FRIENDLY. FOR HOME COOKED MEAL TRY RESTAURANT AT SEA LEVEL ACROSS PICTURESQUE COVE (OUTSIDE HOTEL PROPERTY) - A LOT OF STAIRS TO GET THERE!

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. However, some areas looked "tired" and in need of repair/renovation. Unfortunate that we had to stay in the hotel at the same time as a group of loud Americans.

Excellent hotel, although a little quite at night, in the bar etc..

The hotel was very nice, clean, great view! and friendly staff. The food was not so good, breakfast very limited menu. But overall stay was great!

We got the best room in the hotel. Thanks! We had a huge patio overlooking the ocean with chairs to lounge in and very quiet. The mini bar had very reasonable prices, too. the room was clean and very spacious. I would highly recommend it.

Some areas of the hotel need maintenance especially the swimming pool. Jacuzi bath in room a pleasant surprise though.

The Staff were very welcoming and friendly, but we thought the beach facilities were in a little "tired" especially the concrete area and lifts.We did not realise that the hotel was so far from the town, the courtesy but service was not very frequent and finished quite early at night.However on the whole we very much enjoyed our stay.

Excellent hotel situated in probably the best out of town position in Amalfi with a private beach, rooms lovely, restaurant good.

The hotel had spectacular views...but the facility has not been updated since it was built (late 50's-early 60's?) Very dated, expensive...but clean.
