The owner of the hostel is really unpolite and rude. He was always complaining with no reason, also he offer us laundry service but the didnt use the drier machine and the clothes stayed wet until the next day. The rest of the staff is ok, but the owner is a real trouble

Terrible service - with the older owner making you feel like you were intruding in his home. Many rules - even a no sitting in an area of the foyer that has lounges and a TV. Less than welcoming customer service - such a shame as the views were stunning and the rooms pleasent.

This hotel was in a great location and the view was breathtaking. When we arrived they asked us if we wanted to upgrade our standard room to a suite for 20EU extra a night. After seeing the room and view, we agreed. The room was very clean, the view was amazing, the breakfast and service was excellent. The walk to the town was 1.5km and the private beach was 800m from hotel and then down 465 stairs. You could also take an elevator for a cost. We rented beach chairs and umbrellas, 3 for 20EU for the day. The only downfall of this hotel was the barking dog right next to our hotel.

They didn´t change the sheets, the room was very small, the staff was rude, they aren't hospitality professionals at all, they didnt let me use the lobby tv the the room's tv was old and didnt work, there was no newspapers in the lobby. the parking is small and once you park your car, it's difficult to take your car , since others cars dont let you go out. we wanted to go to the terrace since our room was small and airless, just an interior garden view windows wich was soffocating, and they didn't let us go up to the terrace after 7pm. unprovided bar , they sold us expired coke, breakfast awful

Our holiday in Amalfi at Hotel Bellevue Suite was nice; the staff was very kind and open, the relationship between price and quality was ok as well as our room (just a bit poorly soundproofed). There was a wonderful view over the sea from the common terrace and so it was no problem not having booked a room with sea-view of our own. Only the breakfast could have been more varied and a bit more extensive. But apart from that we had a good time and can recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a little out from town, bit too far to walk specially up hill. Though the taxis want 10 e to take you 600 metres. ?? The Manager hovers a bit, but the service is good. They say in the room dont to this dont do that, but the reality is that the bar selections are pretty inadequate and you really have to bring in a wine or something. Having said that they are really good and helpful with tranfers at good prices Overall pretty good in a motherly sort of way.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. The location was not hard to find, and the owner was so nice to give us a ride to the downtown when we didn't want to walk as it's a little far from the downtown.I wish we could stay longer.

The hotel owners and staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. We were offered an upgrade at no extra cost. The hotel room had a patio with a fabulous sea view. It was a reasonale walk into town with easy bus access. We were very pleased with our stay in Amalfi.

We took a taxi cost 10 euro after arriving at night, and we had really a nice stay in Bellevue, the host is warmhearted and helped us a lot about the tour in Amalfi. Room was decent and well decorated, and i still remembering the sea-view and sunrise. Ps,the price of water and beverage is quite reasonable.

We visited here out of season. On our arrival, tired after a 6 hour drive, we were greeted with a hard sell, trying to get us to upgrade for another 10 euros a night. Which we would have booked on venere if we had wanted to, thank you very much. On the desk and in our room there was a large sign shouting "It is strictly forbidden to bring into the room food and drinks from outside". Well, glad we've got that nice and clear. The room we booked, and all we could afford at the exchange rate, was fine and modern with air con. Like the rest of the hotel, it felt like it had been chosen from an Ikea catalogue, clean and bright but completely devoid of any warmth or character. Which went for the service too. Efficient, professional but no human soul. Parking oustide was great, but it was a 15 minute trek down into town and a steep 20 back. Breakfast was fine too. We'd recommend restaurant Il Tari in town, €50 for two, good food and not spoken to in English or made to look stupid when we tried our tourist Italian. However, I wouldn't recommend Amalfi out of season, it takes ages to get anywhere on the coast road. We used it as a base to see the amazing sights of Paestum and - less so - Herculaneum when the weather was poor, which it was two out of three days.

This is definitely a quality hotel for the budgetminded. As stated by previous reviewers, the hotel is run by the owner, but rather than say he's grumpy, I would say he runs a very tight ship and is unwilling to deviate from his rules. It was spotless, and breakfast was more than adequate and he made good suggestions when asked. It is right on the busline into the center town, which is maybe a half a mile away. The least expensive rooms do not have an ocean view but all you have to do is step out side.

Schade!

I was slightly worried about this hotel having read some negative comments elsewhere, but I was more than happy with it. The rooms are very pleasant (we had a double with a balcony overlooking the sea(and the quite noisy main road)). I think the room details could be more specific on the booking area as there seems to be some confusion between superior double room and a suite. The private beach is not specific to the hotel, and the payment 0f 12euros per day entitles you to use of the lift to and from the beach and a recliner/parasol. You can, if you wish, access the same beach for free via the steps. The beach is very pleasant, but I was disturbed near the end of our stay to see what looked like sewage being discharged very close to it.

Never had a so friendly and interesting contact to the hotel owner (senior and junior manager are both working at the hotel). Technical standard is state of art (you don't even need an adapter for the hairdryer). The rooms, bath rooms also, are very large and comfortable. Standard rooms are nearly as big as the suites, but don't have the beautiful view to Amalfi and the ocean. Privat parking direct in front of the hotel without additional charge.

Wonderful family hosts, high standards of service, cleanliness. Great breakfast, great views. Pretty good walk, esp uphill on return, to Amalfi village. Watch for "2 bedroom" suite that is actually 1 bedroom plus sitting room with fold-down sofa, ok for kids but not 2 adult couples. Overall, I give Bellevue my highest recommendation, great staff and great value!

Well run, welcoming and friendly hotel. Very nice for a three star hotel, we were surprised. Father and son who run the hotel takes good care of their guests! The hotel serves perhaps the best freshly squised orange juice in all of Italy:) It's situated a bit outside Amalfi, but it only takes about 15 mins on foot to get there.

The hotel is a good option to be at Amalfi. It is very close to a beach, using an elevator ( 12 Euros per person to use the beach services ). The hotel owner is a rude person, but well oriented. His son is very gently, more than his father. The breakfast is basic but good ( no hot foods included). There is a distance of about 1 km from the Amalfi center ( a cab costs 6 euros ). The suites have a fantastic terrace viewing the sea.

A beautiful hotel which the owner and his family has obvious pride in. The rooms were excellent, and the main lobby/sitting area was very comfortable. The breakfast is simple but excellent, fresh and home-made; absolutely delicious. In the four nights we stayed here, we ate in restaurants recommended by Tommas and they were all good. We especially enjoyed the 'delivery service', where we were transported to and from the restaurants. It made the evenings so much more relaxing!

Lovely hotel, although the services indicated online were not all on offer - for example, breakfast was not served outside although the weather was fantastic, and also the "private beach" was still so private it did not open yet for us... well, might be because it was the end of May only but we found another beach about 1km walking distance which had opened up already so we still enjoyed it. The rooms were great, a lot of space and very good beds (not normal in Italy!) and the perfect - and huge - terrace overlooking the beautiful coastline. All in all a wonderful little hotel which can be recommended!

The owner and son were very helpful including ensuring that our lost baggage was brought to us as soon as possible. The hotel was immaculate with lovely views and although a 15 min walk from amalfi this was no problem and the convenient parking more than made up for this. The owner recommended a restaurant called Maccus in amalfi which proved to be excellent, great food superb service and a genuinely warm welcome. It can be found up steps to the left of the cathedral and follow a narrow lane for 100m.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The owner Tommas was a very gracious host and has a very nice family. We were upgraded to a lovely, spacious suite overlooking the Sea. The continental breakfast was very good, fresh baked croissants, the best yogurt I've ever had, salami or proscuito and the best fresh squeezed orange juice in the world. Tommas recommended a fabulous restaurant that picked us up and returned us -Al Pesce D'Oro, the food was terrific and the proprietor Pasqueli was a lot of fun--we had a wonderful dining experience there--twice--. This hotel is a pleasant 15 minute walk to town. We are recommending this hotel to friends and family going to Amalfi. Thank you Bellevue for making our 6 day stay a wonderful time.

Spacious suites with balconies overlooking the sea. Great views. Short drive to town of Amalfi. Hotel next door for suppers at reasonable prices. Continental breakfast was good. First time we have had fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh baked large coissants every morning. Hot milk for fresh brewed coffee when you sat down and cappucinos when requested. Antonio was waiting at the door for us as we were alittle late arriving 6:15p.m. from sightseeing. Helped with luggage to room and when we left came to take it to the car. He was first up in the morning to greet you and last down to say goodnight. Lovely family atmosphere. Wife is very charming. We stayed in off season so was quiet early October and temperature was nice. Suggested trips and sightseeing and how to get there. Was a very enjoyable stay.

What a little gem of a hotel. It has the intimacy of a family hotel coupled to the comfort and richness of a luxury hotel. It has been recently decorated with great taste. Parking is no problem at the front of the hotel and you walk outside to the most beautiful view over Amalfi at the bottom of the hill. The hill is the only problem, as the 20 minute slog up it from Amalfi at night is a bore. Everything else is fantastic.

Booked on the website a suite quoted at 130 euros per night. Received an email response to say the suite was 140 euros per night albeit slightly larger than others. On arrival informed suite not available and gave us a double room instead for the first night before transferring to the suite for the following two nights. Still charged us 140 for each night which we should have queried but overlooked in the rush to leave. We found the walk into town quite acceptable, even uphill on the return in the dark. It would not be suitable though for people with walking difficulties. The website says their is a free shuttle available. However amongst the many instructions on the wall in the room it said their was a charge. Two good restaurants we found were 'La Perla' up steps to the left of the main road leading from the Doumo Piazza and also the pizzeria to the left of the Doumo steps.

FALSE = "all with a terrace overlooking the sea, and with several facilities to make your stay unforgettable." "The suites have two or three bedrooms with a big balcony with sea view." FALSE = "air-conditioning" We booked this hotel because we wanted the sea view, which the website makes it sound like all of the rooms have. But ours didn't. We had a tiny balcony that overlooked a cement wall and had little air circulation. The hotel does have air-conditioning, but they only turn it on from 7pm to 7am. Between 7am and 7pm you can turn it on, but there are additional charges. Other than these fallacies the hotel was wonderful. This was a very nice hotel and the host, Thomas, was very friendly. I would recommend, but be sure to ASK for a sea view and beware of the air-conditioning policy.

We loved the hotel, the recently refurbished rooms and halls, the quietness thanks to double glazing, the spacious bathroom and the nice balcony. The hotel is of some walking distance from the center of town (downhill) but Tommaso, the owner, and his son Antonio, offer "shuttle service" from town. they also recommended a nice and good little restaurant in town. Breakfast was excellent and included the best orange juice we've ever tasted!!!! everything (up to now) was first class and we SHALL return to the hotel. however, we have one big comment: we gave our laundry to be done express for the following morning. the laundry was ready as promised BUT...... all our whites returned grey.... it was obvious that the coloreds had not beed separated. what was even worse was that all the clothes returned stinking of cigarette smoke, so much so that we had to pack them separately and had to have the wash redone at our next stop! apart from this - everything was great!

Everyone knows that Amalfi coast isn't quite convenient - but this hotel is worth its prices. The most attractive item of the "Bellevue Residence" was to offer a "parcheggio privato e gratuito" for the car right in front of the hotel. So you reach Amalfi town within 15' walking along the marvellous coast, mostly on footpath - or going by bus. The beakfeast competed to other ***-hotels was quite good (yogurt, ham, cheese, marmelade,...) - If you book a standard chamber you'll sleep more quiet than in a room with sea-view: The normal chambers are situated in the rear, whilst the "better ones" look to the coast and also to the busy road directly in front of the hotel. - Apologize my english.-

We stayed here for 2 nights. The father and son who run the Inn were very helpful, recommending 2 excellent restaurants, driving directions etc. The rooms were beautiful with nice balconies. A couple of small caveats: the hotel does face the main road, so there is some road noise; I was charged 10E more than I had reserved, but assumed that was the 10E parking charge mentioned in the description; finally, there are a lot of posted notices regarding hotel policies (e.g. no outside food in rooms etc.). And you are not "in town." But, for a large, beautiful room with helpful hosts at a reasonable (for Amalfi price) I would not hestitate to return.

Very Nice place. A medium sized B & B run by a small family. Although the walk to the main town center of Amalfi is abt 20 mins (because the property is a bit up on the hill), if one doesnt have a problem with that, then a very good place to stay. But also the transport system is quite set in place for added convenice.

We booked and paid for a suite. However, on arrival, the manager showed us a small double room with a balcony, saying this was a 'suite'. However, we could have a 'proper' suite for a significant amount more. I overheard him trying the same trick with some other people the next night. I think we were conned.

We were disappointed that we did not get a balcony room with a view. We were told to call the hotel when we arrived at the bus stop in Amalfi and the hotel would come and get us and they did, very quickly. They also took us to another hotel when we decided to extend our stay in Amalfi and they could not provide us accomodations. Everyone was very nice and helpful, especially the owners son. The breakfast consists of bread, croissant, one cup of coffee/tea and one glass of fresh squeezed orange juice--no seconds!

This is was one of the most wonderful places we've stayed in all our travels. The spacious rooms have special Mediterranian feel and sparkle - ours had patio attached. Breakfast includes fresh orange juice and other local fruits. The owner has great way of always helping and making you feel relaxed and at home. But most wonderful is the private beach that is shared with another hotel. (This is not mentioned on website). There is a charge $11 EU per person for access to beach but it is well worth it for the privacy, views, and lunch served from the restaurant.

We found the quality of the hotel excellent overall. Very helpful and polite staff. Recommendations for local restaurants very accurate. Assistance with booking tours added to the service. Very clean and well-kept.

The thing that made the Bellevue special was the service provided by the family that runs the Hotel. They were the most gracious hosts I have ever encountered. Additionally, the view from the balcony was amazing. I highly recommend this Hotel. It was reasonably priced and provided a personal touch that a I have yet to see from a 4 or 5 star establishment.

A very clean and pretty hotel, spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. Lovely bathroom and lots of lovely hot water. Service was adequate without being sycophantic and the place had somewhat of a family feel about it. About 1km outside Amalfi, we chose to walk 3 times out of 4 though a service car was sometimes available for about 5 Euros. A taxi costs 10 Euros when the car or driver isn't around. Although like many hotels in this area it is directly on the coast road, the balcony was covered with bougainvillea so was quite private and traffic noise was within the acceptable range. At night, just shut the shutters and block it all out. We had free car parking (absolutely essential in Amalfi) but best to book this. Would go again.

Definitely a place to recommend: run by a very friendly family; great view from the balcony. We were, however, surprised to find that instead of an appartment with cooking facilities we only got a standard double bedroom with a fridge for the same price..

Advertising indicates a car is available to pick up clients from town center (hotel is 2 km uphill). The car is no longer available. When we arrived we were sent to the hotel next door (a reasonable accommodation) because our room was not ready. When we moved to the Residence Bellevue the next day, we learned that our room was not finished and it had no heat and the kitchen/living area had no couch. The residences are spacious and the kitchen facilities will be nice, but some appliances were not hooked up and there is a charge for the use of anything. The restaurant advertised is not open on all days. We were sent to a recommended restaurant we were told had a "special price" for Bellevue guests. That restaurant was very expensive and offered no specials to Bellevue guests--though the food was good. When completed, this residence will be very nice and offer nice amenities, however it will likely be much more expensive at that time. Though it was reasonably priced for the Amalfi area, it did not offer all that it advertised. It does have a great location.

This hotel was FANTASTIC!!! The family run hotel is one of the best that I have stayed in.....EVER!!! My family had a great time and loved the location of the hotel and atmosphere. I would definately return and I am sure that it would be as good if not better.
