Hotel La Najarra - Almunecar, Granada

Excellent breafast buffet - very small walk to the beach, to downtown and to the busstation

Close to the beach and friendly, helpful staff (except for one woman on breakfast duty one morning, who seemed to be most put out to be there and scowled at anyone having breakfast.) Buffet breakfast had good selection and variety. Cleaner took three of the five towels in the room and did not replace them. Pool was described as open from June, but it turns out it opens on June 16th, so was closed. Twin beds, no doubles.

Overall, it was very good. My only complaints are the size of the bathroom (the bidet and the sink sit opposite each other leaving just 20cm. of space to step in and out of the shower. Secondly, the breakfast is only served from 8:30-10:30. This is a beach hotel, meaning one goes to relax, not to wake up early just to catch breakfast. Beyond that, however, we arrived 5 minutes late for breakfast and the woman in the cafe was very rude to us and would not let us in to even get a glass of juice or a coffee. Lastly, the swimming pool was still closed. We stayed at the hotel the first weekend of June, and although the webpage advertises that the pool is open June-Sept, the truth is that it opens sometime in mid-June.

Die hinteren Räume auf der linken Seite des Flur rochen etwas muffig. Es mußte die meiste Zeit das Fenster aufsein, damit die Luft besser wurde. Auf dieser Seite lag allerdings auch der Pool, sodaß es etwas lauter werden konnte Das Essen war gut, allerdings konnte es vorkommen, daß man keinen Tisch bekam, da zu Stosszeiten viele Gäste da waren. Der Pool gehört zu einer Wohnanlage. Er konnte von Hotelgästen mitgenutzt werden. Der Strand ist in unmittelbarer Nähe

All rooms are on the ground floor, other rooms are residential, therefore can be noisy above and around you (in our case they were). Don't stay in room 5 ! Let down by the fact that the photographs suggest better quality than they actually are. The surrroundings (like the town) are a bit dirty. Area opposite the hotel is being cleared for new hotel/s. (we stayed for 3 long nights in July 2007)
