Rooms are old, and seems a bit cheap. Alot of noise from neighbors. There is a nice balcony though. Pool-area is very nice, and the beach is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Good selection at the breakfast buffet, but a bit slow refill.

We chose Alicante for a long weekend because we could get cheap flights at a decent time and chose Hotel Maya because it had the best deal for 3 nights- so we weren't expecting much. What we got was a decent 3* hotel with a pool, helpful staff and only 5 minutes from the beach.Having read the poor breakfast reviews, we abstained until the last morning, but as we were a bit short of time we decided to take a chance. I'm veggie and my partner eats meat but neither of us expected much. In fact there were all types of eggs and veggies, along with sausages and bacon on one counter, and a huge selection of cheeses, cold meats etc on the next. There was also a wide range of fresh fruit and cakes as well as the usual cereals, yoghurt etc. -and ice cream! It was the first time I have had ice cream for breakfast but I can thoroughly recommend it! Only slight negative about Hotel Maya was the lack of a balcony, but still very good value and perfect for a short break.

It was the second time I went there and I only regret that I had allready noticed : the staff doesn't easily use english. We have a right to hope they use it as professionnals in such a international hotel but some of them have a disastrous level. We could hope it means that they are qualified in French : not at all! For other languages I don't know but I fear the worst...Is there not unemployement enough in Spania to find a staff of international standard facing abroad customers? Unfortunately the obvious willingness of a nice staff can't do evething in many cases.

Comfortable hotel. location is convenient to castle and beach but a 15/20 minute walk to town.only problem is elevators are too crowded, best to walk down stairs! there is often on-street parking around the corner to save $10 euro hotel parking fee.

The staff at the reception was not welcoming at all ( two older men) They looked so bored and my first impression was quite dissappointing. However, our seaview bedroom on the 9th floor made it up! The rooms was spacious and clean. Another thing i was not happy about was the noise from the room next to us. We could here an english couple talking and snoring afterwards!!! The area is ok, not many restaurants around, but bus stop in front of the hotel. Also a comercial center in 5 min distance. Overall i was satisfied with the price and the quality, would recommend it!!

The hotel was very clean and spacious. the staff extremely helpful. Reception staff spoke good English (much better then our Spanish) Situated not far from the town it self. The beach was less tha a 5 min walk. Breakfast, there was more than ample choice to suit all. However our experience of room service was not pleasant (food burnt), but quickly resolved by the staff. Ample car park space. Would use this hotel again.

Although the hotel is a little bit far from downtown, the bus stop and the metro station are infront of the door. If you like to walk you can get to downtown in about 20 minutes. Most of the rooms have view to the sea. The breakfast included in the price is great.

We had a great time here. We really had a seaview as we asked for! Although there was some buildingsites between us and the ocean, we were so high up on the 9th floor we didn't really notice. Breadfast was great except maybe for Sunday when the usual chef must have stayed home because the bacon wasn't quite as crispy as the other days and the scrambled eggs was a slightly bluish overdone colour. But the friendliness and competence of all the staff made up for any minor problems. We did not use the pool or bar so I can't comment on those.

Our stay was enjoyable and by and large the hotel was good value for money. A few problems though... We couldn't find the private beach and it was a bit of a trek to the town. Tax was not included in our quoted price so we had to pay more at the end of our stay which was a bit disappointing.

We are a group of friends (22 yo) and we stayed in Alicante for four days as a little holiday. KRIS HOTEL is very good, we met very nice people, ready to help you in anycase. Rooms are very clean, cleaned everyday. The swimming-pool is not very big but it is clean too. Bring a coat with you (also and aboveall in July and August) beacuse the airconditioned is very very cold!!!!! :-) All in all is a very good hotel, even if VAT in not included in the price of Venere!

The hotel was far from the center, however Alicante is a small place in the end and you can walk to the city center in about 15-20 minutes, however there are no restaurants, bars in the sorrounding area, but there was a shopping mall nearby. The hotel was clean and cosy. The breakfast is very good. The staff was polite and helpful.Overall looking I recommend this hotel.

Two annoying points. Intial frustration of earier reports stating english was spoken widely, in our wqeek it was not. But after the intial annoynace we enjoyed having to get by with our very poor spanish. Locally too low english spoken. Everyone tried hard. We were out of saeason though. Other issue was VERY thin walls. Good Points, quite cheap, clean, good breakfast and late times.

Only stayed one night. It is a bit of a hike from both the bus and train stations, but a taxi won't cost you much. Buffet breakfast was very good - worth getting. Very good hotel for the price. Location not too far from beach or castle.

Taxi is essential - from Rail Station or Airport Bus Seafront terminus. Yet, unburdened by bags, beach is just a leisurely 10 min walk away - take reception directions to steps or footbridge over highway. City centre is just as convenient - on foot! - down one-way street. Covered parking is available @ a standard seven eu per night But adequate street parking is also convenient> Reception staff have good language skills and a desire to help> Breakfast is above average> dinner is probably similar< but the restaurant location is the hotel@s best kept secret>

We had a great view over the bay and beach - and a small balcony on which to enjoy it. The room was spacious and the pool was great. A short walk to the beach and a nice stroll into town. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Alicante. Also had free Internet access in the lobby.

The only thing that was not made clear prior to my arrival was the car park charges, I did use the car park but I could have parked on the street as there is ample parking, this option could have been given prior to my arrival
