Hotel Hospes Amérigo - Alicante

Room very dark no sun in room. no privacy across from room office and hostel. could not open curtins.for 5 star no tea or coffee making facilities.swiming pool on roof top was no bigger than a bath. no information leaftlets on what to do or were to go in hotel. breakfast was good with good choice. overall not very happy for value for money.

The location of the hotel is superb. Pleasant area with inexpensive restaurants everywhere. Beach is only a few minutes away. I took the airport bus (cost 2.60 euro each) from airport to the final stop which is a 1 min walk to the hotel entrance. The bus runs every 20 mins and took 20 mins for the journey. In the busy periods perhaps the journey time would be longer.

We LOVED this hotel!! I was traveling with a friend and we had a great time making full use of the hotel's facilities including pool/jacuzzi, rooftop bar, tapas restaurant, spa and breakfast! The staff was so terrific and friendly and helpful!! I would LOVE to travel back to Alicante with my husband and stay in this hotel again! It is an excellent hotel with awesome amenities for the price! I would recommend this hotel to EVERYONE!

Excellent hotel. Professional and knowledgeable staff. The room was clean and modern, and the whole environment was welcoming. The location is perfect, central to the social life of Alicante and the beaches. Great place to stay.

Excellent stay.Free internet in lobby.Staff helpful.Room could do with a full length mirror so my wife says!Not sure where the 5th star came from, however don't let that put you off as this is a very nice hotel with an excellent tapas bar and is close to the marina. Check out the Elvis puppet near the stalls in the evening. Good meal at Nou Manoulin. Pity that Alicante is being dug up at the moment and they can't put up good directions to get around so only drive in and out of city if you have to. Hertz Hire car pick up at Alicante Railway Station excellent and lady working there very very helpful. Taxi from Airport and return excellent and good value at www.alicanteairporttransfer.com

The hotel is ok but the swimmig pool area is a little bit forgot by the staff.

Lovely for a girly weekend. Certainly not a 5* Hotel, I have experienced that and this is not it. Breakfast was super, employees were friendly. Cleanliness?? Well...

My first trip to Alicante, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. We were lucky enough to visit during a festival, so there was plenty going on, the weather was perfect, beach great - what more could you want for a long weekend. The hotel itself was immaculate in every way, and I am already planning to go back in September! Thoroughly recommended.

Awesome hotel. Pricy, but worth it. Located near the ocean (5 minute walk). Lots of bars and restaurants nearby.

This beautiful hotel is an oasis during business travels. The rooms are spacious, the shower and the bath utensils are wonderful. I travel very often to Alicante and I can not imagine staying at any other hotel!

Had a very enjoyable short break here. The only problem I would have with it was the pool was little more than a paddling pool suitable only for children, the jacuzzi part of it didn't work and it looked tired and in need of a facelift.

We stayed in Alicante as we were told that it was a very nice town. We normally only pass through on our way to and from the airport. The hotel is very upmarket and would appeal to the type of clientele who require quality of service and facilities. The Tapas bar is lovely, but the night that we stayed the restaurant wasn't open. This wasn't a problem as the hotel is in the centre of everything. The hotel was quite difficult to find, the driving instructions are a bit optimistic as there are a lot of one way streets - we ended up asking a policeman.

This hotel exceeded by far our expectations. The room was more than spacious. The equipment was excellent. The attached restaurant offered very good dinner (and wines!!). The lcation is superb, nd the staff was very friendly. We will for sure get back there in few months.

Insider Tip: Avoid the upper floor of the "NOU MANOLÍN", rather take the bar. There is the spanish food you've been looking for! Upstairs is just complacency, sour faces and good, but in no way exceptional food.
