Hotel Dei Pini - Fertilia, Alghero

The rooms were incredibly small, the size of the shower ridiculourly small, not to the mention that the doors would not close properly and it took forever for the water to disappear. The beach was very narrow and sun beds/umbrellas were put very close together. What wasn't mentioned on the web, is that one had to pay for those (and it wasn't cheap) and also for towels!. This is ridiculous for a hotel that charges such high prices already. Check-out time was 10.00, and no debate possible to stay in the room for a bit longer (our flight back was only at 18.00). The food however, was wonderful. Lots of choice and different every day.

Although we had originally planned to stay 3 nights, we extended for a full week. Dei Pini is ideal for a family with young children, especially during low season. Beautiful private beach. We stayed at two other hotels during our recent trip, but the price/quality relationship of Dei Pini was the best by far. The buffet breakfast is fine, and the same goes for the dinner. Don't expect too much fireworks from the kitchen though. We met another family who skipped dinner a few times and went to the city nearby instead.

No pamplets for tourists , poor english spoken , ,no pool or facilities for children , breakfast poor , bar empty( no tea or coffee in room , no room service , just not geared for tourism or service at all

Dei Pini is a lovely hotel and the staff were great - we had a lovely holiday - only complaint was the price of the taxis - very expensive compared to home.

Good hotel in an excellent location - the beach is fantastic! Would call it a good 3 star, as opposed to its 4 star status. Having said that, you are paying for the secluded location. Note that there is nothing within walking distance (amenities wise) - a car is essential (20 mins drive into central Alghero). Food is OK, but very samey. Expensive drinks, esp wine. Nice friendly staff, rooms OK, but a bit small with baby cot, and can hear some noise from neighbours. But a perfect beachfront location. The water is crystal clear, extremely still/gentle, and shallow for about 7 metres out.

The hotel was very disappointing for a 4 star hotel. The room was very small and just besides the central aircondition device. Several interventions with the hotel manager did not help, nor was any kind of discount offered. The rooms are very noisy. Overall a rip-off! Would certainly not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Price given on web was quite a lot less than that charged at the hotel ~ rather disconcerting to say the least. However a very nice hotel, and it was a very last minute booking made due to a family emergency in Sardinia.
