Hotel Maritur - Albufeira

The quiet location was good with only a few minutes walk to a small supermarket and to several lovely beaches with at least one suitable for young children. The 2 outdoor pools at the hotel were very clean. There could have been a few more deckchairs. The hotel is a long way from Albufiera so unless you want to go to the beach or stay around the pool you need a car. There was no problem with parking. The full breakfast buffet was excellent as were both the evening buffet and a'lacarte meals. The room had a large balcony with a table and chairs. The shutters on the balcony doors did a great job of keeping the hot sun out and the aircondtioner worked well. There was some noise from the corridor but not a major problem. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We stayed there for 8 nights. The location of the hotel is very good. There are 3 beaches within 10 minutes walk and sea views are stunning. Albufeira is 10 minutes drive away. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody without a car. The room was spacious, clean and quiet, however there are many construction sites nearby, so it might be noisy during the day. The positive thing is, that you can order mini bar items or use the fridge in the room for your own drinks. You can also ask for a kettle at the reception, but don't get the water there, because it cost's 2.50 EUR per 1.5l bottle. In the supermarket you can buy 5l for less than 1EUR. Use of internet is very expensive and the connection is very slow. Better go to Albufeira and use internet cafe. There's a weekly charge of 10EUR for using safe. The gym also costs extra, we didn't even try it. Indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi are quite poor. The breakfast wasn't good, very poor selection, no fresh juice only sweet artificial lemonade. There were no vegetables only fruit salad, probably from the can. There are different kinds of bread, 4 types of cerials and ham, salami and cheese. Don't even bother to taste pastries, you can find better in Lidl. Last but not least don't drink the tap water, don't even use it to wash fruits. We got food poisoning and stuck in bed for 2 days.

Clean and spacious rooms with welcoming staff. A bit out of town (and hard to find if you're not attentive to the signs)and about 1 km walk to a small secluded beach. Drive into town about 10 minutes. Albufeira is delightful.

We have stayed at this hotel for the past few years and find it just ideal for our requirements. The availability of Wireless Internet in the rooms is a massive bonus and is also good value. Our only complaint was failure of staff to replace or clean the drinking glasses in the room - but this was hardly a major sin! Taxi service to Old Town is both reasonably priced and readily available. I would recommend this hotel for anybody who doesn't want to be based full time in the busy town or who simply wants a quiet hotel with the minimum of children.

El hotel no se puede considerar de cuatro estrellas. no hay playas cerca sólo rocas, yo eso no lo considero playa. el hotel está situado en una zona muy tranquila. las piscinas son muy pequeñas. no todas las fotografías que aparecen en internet se corresponden con la realidad, especialmente cuando se refiere a playas.

Excellent views from sea view side. A car a must for access to beach etc. However still within easy taxi range for the evening out.

Very satisfied with hotel. Knew the location from previous visits and it is just ideal. The one problem encountered was in getting taxis from hotel to Old Town of Albufeira between 6 and 9 p.m. Otherwise, rooms were top class, very spacious and comfortable. In addition, the Wireless Internet was very useful, though it would be a help if it was available in the Sea View Rooms.

Excellent value for the price. Only really an option when with car. Beautiful small beach approx 15min walk through holiday residence area. Albufeira old town is a 5min drive away. Taxi would be the options for people without car, otherwise it's quite and relaxing in this area...

Good hotel, but a little bite far from albufeira. you need a car.

We were suprised the name of the hotel we booked was different to the name when we arrived. We booked Maritur but we couldn't find this hotel on the map. We found out that Maritim was the same hotel.
