Hotel Mathios Village - Akrotiri

I liked the hotel. It was very nice and spacious. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However, I feel that the hotel administration could be better. When we arrived we had to wait for our room. We checked back in at the time we were told to come back and were told the room was not ready. We sat down in the lobby to wait and then 10 minutes later, the receptionist came back and said oh your room was ready after all....so we were waiting for who knows how long for no reason. Secondly they charge extra for everything. They told us is we wanted towels for the pool to let them know...so we did, and they gave us some scrappy towels to use for the duration of our stay. When we were checking out they said ok and now you owe us 8 Euros for each towel that you borrowed. SHOULDNT THEY TELL YOU THAT THERE IS A CHARGE FOR THE TOWELS BEFORE YOU BORROW THEM??? I was dissapointed with the reception and felt like all they wanted to do was take our money.

I rarely saw a good service like at Mathioos Village. Thank you Costas and all the staff. My wife and I have passed the happiest 7 days of our life in Santorini. I fully recommand Mathios Village to all. J'ai rarement rencontre un hotel aussi complet, service extra, générosité et soutien. The hotel is a little bit far from tourism place, that's why you have to rent bike or car to visit. The hotel is very nice and quiet. The Owner is sympatic but really want to sell you other service (like bike rent). The restaurant inside the hotel is very nice, between the two pool, the staff too :).

Mathios Village was a great place to stay. The breakfast was very nice. The coffee always hot. They have a great pool area. If you want to stay away from the crowds, this is the place. Nice and quite. Not far from beaches and the Lighthouse. A rental car is a must. The freedom to move around will make your stay a ton more enjoyable. The hotel set up a day trip for us. We where picked up at the hotel and then dropped back off. They do their best to take care of you. We stayed in a loft style room. A real nice stay.
