Hotel Le Clos du Lac - Viviers-du-Lac, Aix-les-Bains

Must be one star instead 2. Very small rooms and poor bathroom.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The garden of the hotel is quite big, but not inviting to stay in. It was our second time at the Clos du Lac.

We stayed with two very young children. The location was great for us, since on the other side of the street, there is a beach which is very well suited for little children (to pay for, but very cheap). Aix-les-bains is reasonably close (by car) and despite the (little) airport and a street close by it is quite calm in the night. The staff was nice and friendly. We enjoyed the stay a lot.

On the first but it would be best down for the open on the garden.

Our 3rd time in this hotel. Good value for money - you get what you pay for. It's the location that we enjoy, within easy walking distance of the beautiful lake Bourget where you can enjoy a variety of water sports.Across the road from the hotel is a large park with play areas for children and picnic areas. Aix-les-Bains and Chambery only a short drive away offering a range of tourist activities including free open air concerts in Aix in the Summer - if you can find some parking!

Es un hotel de ruta, para una estadia corta. Su calidad respecto a la tarifa es conveniente.Para quienes viajen en auto propio tiene muy buena ubicacion relativa a otras ciudades.Volveria a este hotel.

I spent two nights during business trip early December so, waiting for the opening of the restaurent right aside is the only negative point I could mention. The room was correct, clean, good beds (may be a little small for people measuring mor than 1.7m). It would do no harm if they replaced the poor little TV by a more recent model.

Very quick, efficient check-in. Friendly staff. Good breakfast in clean and pleasant dining room. Short stroll to lakeside giving stunning views. Stayed 3 nights. Good value for money.

The location is on the edge of a town, near the lake (but without a view of anything), and the building is a bit dated; it is a low-rise 60's building without much space around it (contrary to the impression from some pictures). It is just off the road from Chambery to Aix Les Bains, so probably suits some - however, in the opposite direction my stay at the Hotel Altedia was much better value. At about a 20 Euro taxi from Chambery train station, and 10 Euros from the airport (a free shuttle would be useful and it is only 1.5km apparently!), so it isn't really a great cash saving compared to staying in the town, but at least it is close to the airport if you have any early flight to catch. There is not much in the area within walking distance; though there is some construction underway at the moment. The only place to have dinner is the chain Chantegrille restaurant next door; though there are some places next to the lake, on a Saturday evening in mid-March, they were mostly open, but absolutely deserted.

Simple, quiet, clean & good value. Just fine for my short break.

Although the hotel is situated on a main road, it is easy to locate and is very close to Chambery and the lake. The rooms are comfortable but the corridors are rather depressing. If you decide to stay in this hotel, ask for a room with a view of the internal garden (first floor preferable)as we were given a room on the ground floor that gave onto the parking area. Breakfast is of the buffet type, with a wide range of breakfast items on offer (from cereals and toast to fruit salad). Fine for a weekend break but not for a longer holiday.
