Easy to find from the Aix to Marseilles motorway. We stayed 2 nights in one of the rooms with a terrace. The accommodation was in need of a little renovation outside but was clean and resonably comfortable. Good but overpriced breakfast, but very good restaurant for evening meal. Pool very welcome, but in need of extra loungers.

Good location in close proximity to Aix but with advantage of peaceful, wooded, quiet location. Staff were accommodating and helpful with directions around Aix and to nearby spots like Mt St Victoire and Cassis. Room was clean and comfortable. Having restaurant on site was helpful esp for breakfast and supper. The hotel is difficult to locate using a map, but plentiful directional signs at nearby roundabouts helped immensely. Some staff speak English--helps to speak and understand some French though. We enjoyed our three-night stay.

A beautiful hotel an very happily situated. Nice rooms and a pool surrounded by trees and a fabulous view on the small french village "Les Milles". You are a bit far away from the city. If you don´t have a car, you can take a 10 minutes walk to the bus station to get to Aix. Its a nice place to relax and make tours from there to the beautiful Provence.

Althogh we stayed some good hotels during this vacation, I agree with my husband that "Le Mas des Ecureuils" was the best hotel in Provence. Someday if we go to Aix, we will visit this hotel again.

Unexpected surprise, this was to be an overnight only to catch a morining train back to Paris. As we approached from the highway late at night, we did not know what to expect as the road was dark and empty, running under a railroad bridge on the outskirts of AIX. It turned out to be a lovely little Inn nestled on a quite hillside. Rooms were clean, food was great. Had I known how nice it was, I would have made sure to arrive earlier to enjoy the grounds.

Hotel was nice little country hotel.Location in the country site was nice. You need a car to get to the hotel. Aix is beatiful little town with a lot of little shops and coffee bars.

What a good time to enjoy there

Apart from the workman's hammering at 6am on our floor, and the alarm he set off 7 times, it was great. Lovely location and facilities. Just take a good map as you will undoubtedly get lost like most other guests including us.

The photo does not do this property justice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. A car is necessary to get to the property. Meals are not served in the restaurant on Fri or Sat night. We would stay here again.

though it wasn't explicitly said in the web page we got the impression that the hotel would be at walking distance from the centre of Aix en Provence. It was a little bit disappointing to need the car while going to dinner at night-especially since it was difficult to find parking space. Breakfast was excellent, but dinner at the restaurant mediocre. Too bad - considering above mentioned distance from centre of Aix it would be a good alternative to have dinner at the hotel - especially when travelling with children.

Professional and nice service by all the hotel staff. Many tourist recommandation provided from them and english spoken. Very kind in the way they treat you to feel at ease. Restaurant avarage with nice service. Useful if you want to relax as you need the car if you want to visit areas around the hotel. Quite position in a Pine wood. Some rooms share a common long balcony (no privacy) Pity that Hammam was always turned off.

Not the easiest hotel to find especially after dark, but worth it once you arrive

Finding a hotel is very difficult unless you have a GPS. There should be a clear map on the site. Also it appeared that the room we have booked was not inthe main building but in the nearby and on the ground floor which was disappointing. Hotel employees are very nice and helpful.

Our search for handicapped-accessible accommodations led us to this nice country inn because of the information on the website. In recent remodels of this old building, handicapped-accessible rooms have been added, but with some problems: the shower stall in our room was small and impossible for handicapped people, and not so great for able-bodied people. Access to the restaurant is up a gravel incline, not too safe for people with mobility issues. We found that eating on our little patio was the easiest and safest way to deal with this issue. The food was good, and the hotel staff could not have been nicer. The country environment is beautiful and quiet, well worth a walk around the neighborhood.

The rural setting for this hotel is very restful but it can be a little hard to find unless you have a good map or GPS navigation system. We felt that Le Mas des Ecureuils provided good value for the price and the only minor negative experience we encountered was that we had to serve ourselves breakfast in the dinning room as for some reason there was no staff around.

You really need to have your own car; traveling into town by taxi does add up... about 25 dollars for a one way trip.

Stayed in regular room. Late September visit. Rained a bit. When you leave the road to enter the hotel street, you drive 500 yards through a wooded area and arrive close to a vineyard. Hotel is surrounded by large pine trees. Unique country location in the city of Mille. The rooms are spread out in different buildings around the office. Nice big room. Tiles on all the floors. Spotless. Nice people always willing to help. Let us use their internet behind the front desk at no charge. Honest breakfast with no frills but fine for us. Just outside of Aix. Would go back any time. Get a bead on the location before going. You need to drive up the hill to get to the reception desk.

L'hotel si trova su una collinetta immerso in una pineta. Durante il giorno i grilli contribuiscono all'ambiente bucolico. La nostra stanza era pulita, affacciata sulla piscina. Non ci sono problemi per il parcheggio. Non è facile trovare l'hotel senza un navigatore o avere prima stampato il percorso con un fornitore di mappe sul web. Aix en Provence si trova a una decina di km dall'albergo. Arrivare ad Aix non è difficile e il ritorno in albergo, poi, è possibile senza eccessive difficoltà. Più adatto per un soggiorno in campagna, ma, vista la cronica mancanza di posti letto ad Aix è compatibile anche per la vista della città.

This hotel was much further away from town than we thought and it was a challenge to get there requiring an expensive taxi or a bus (that does not run return trips past 7pm at night we were told)

Lovely place. Owners spoke excellent english and were very accomodating. Room was big,clean, had tea and coffee facilities and was excellent value for money (we paid 65 euros per night for a double. The pool was fantastic. I would certainly recommend it - the only problem was it was a little hard to locate originally and I would suggest a good map.

Le Mas was such a charming retreat up on the hill. Although a confusing drive to get there from Aix, the route is well marked with signs for the hotel. The reception staff were so friendly and accomodating, and recommended an excellent restaurant in Les Milles for dinner. The rooms are spacious and brightly decorated and the Turkish bath is a must!
