The grounds are lovely; however, the size and decor of the room were poor. A tiny box of a room with a black color scheme is not welcoming. The reception folks spent more time chatting on the phone than clarifying the location of the room. No one offered to help with luggage and no one showed us the room--the competition is far superior on service.

We stayed at this hotel for one night.Our room was comfortable and clean , but a little bit narrow. This hotel atmosphere is so good.On the other hand there are few shops and restaurants near the hotel. To eat dinner on Sunday you need to go to the center of Aix.

The garden is charming, and dining in it would be a delight if the food and the wine list were better. The menu tries too hard to be interesting and clever and fails. The wines offered were uninteresting and recommendations for something "good and local" were poor. But a pleasant place for a few days. Our room (which was inexpensive compared to the rest of the hotel - at the back of the new block - was obviously built as a single with a double bed shoved into it. Pleasant but very small.

From Highway A8 follow signs for Aix-en-Provence and take the Aix Pont de l'Arc exit no.30. Follow signs for the city centre centre ville, rue Pierre Brossolette. At the third set of traffic lights turn left onto Avenue Le Pigonnet. The first gate on the left is Hotel Le Pigonnet.
