Hotel Hostellerie Des Trois Mousquetaires - Aire-sur-la-Lys

Large mansion converted into a comfortable hotel but retaining the original ambience of a house. Pleasant garden and far away from the main road to be quiet. Very convenient for Calais tunnel and ferries being situated off the motorway. Close to Flanders and Dunkirk battlefields.

The hotel is difficult to find, the red Michelin guide address would not go into our sst nav. it needs the name of the actual road. There was no hair dryer which is normal in hotels of this standard. We asked for a pause between our main course and dessert but this request was ignored. We have stayed at this hotel before and been pleased with our meal. However on this occasion the magret de canard was over cooked and although we asked for au point and medium they were both the same.

We stayed here 14 years ago and really enjoyed it. However, it now seems it is all too easy for them with a stream of English visitors. The reception by Madame was sour and when we found that the bathroom lacked any toilet paper there was no apology, rather a shrug. It is overpriced and unwelcoming. Much better places to stay.

The service provided by the hotel staff was excellent. The food and wine was superb. We stay in this hotel at least once a year, and are looking forward to returning again.

The hotel restaurant was overpriced. We got the distinct impression that the hotel benefited from its location so didn't try too hard to please the guests.

An ieal place to stay overnignt before crossing the channel. Excellent cusine, excellent service. Prices for digestifs a littel bit to high.

A comfortable hotel with good staff and great food which is ideally located near Calais.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel many times. The superior rooms are very comfortable but given the price they lack certain items of equipment that would normally be expected these days. e.g. hairdriers, etc. But the joy of this hotel is the dining experience and the quiet but friendly sevice that accompanies it.

Our rooms were very comfortable, the sevice excellent. The dinner in the resurant was superb, as we have been here before it was as expected

The hotel has maintained it's reputation as one of the best in the Pas de Calais area. The quality of the food and the ambience of the rooms were excellent. Prices are going up, however, and the minor elements of service are not quite what they were in past visits. I'm not sure that €23 is good value for 2 gin and tonics.

This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. The pictures on the web site do not do it justice. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was superb. However, there was no kettle in the room, which I would have expected in a four star hotel,(although this seems common in France)and, like most hotels, the towels were not big enough! We really enjoyed our stay though and would definitely go again.

This is a very nice Hostellerie with typical French charm. The restaurant is outstanding and NOT to be missed.

We discovered and booked the Trois Mousquetaires on the web, receiving instant confirmation of the booking. The Hostellerie is an easy 40 minute drive from the shuttle - ideal for a Friday evening crossing after work - and is straigh-forward to find. The welcome was courteous and efficient: we were shown our delightful (standard) room without delay and, though it was nearly nine in the evening, we were expected for dinner which was leisurely and delicious with many unexpected "amuses bouches" among the superbly pesented main dishes. After a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed we enjoyed breakfast in our room overlooking the gardens and countryside beyond before setting off around mid-day for our weekend in Amsterdam. So impressed were we with the whole experience that we made time to call in for dinner on the Monday evening, before our return crossing, and enjoyed another superb meal. Our one regret, perhaps, was that we had eaten so well we were unable to manage the complimentary chocolates the management had left in our room!

When we arrived, having booked a double room we were offered a twin. We were asked to move into a standard twin until I protested three times, where upon we were offered a superior double at no extra charge. This was Ok but still very small, goodness knows how small the standard room is.
