My wife and I spent 12 nights at the Hotel Canal Aigues Mortes. The hotel is on a busy road but it is easy to find and has good outdoor parking. Once inside the hotel is modern, well decorated and the reception staff are welcoming and well informed on everything from the best local restaurants to French literature and poetry! They speak excellent English. The bedroom we had looked out on the upper terrace and swimming-pool and beyond that to the canal. Breakfast was excellent and served on the lower terrace on sunny days and indoors when wet. We had to go out for evening meals but there are many restaurants including some really excellent ones in Aigues Mortes within a 10 to 15 minute stroll (we are in our 70's so we take our time) along the canal bank.

Clean modern hotel, with good facilities, including excellent free wi-fi, but rooms very small. Good breakfast provided. Expensive compared with similar hotels elsewhere in France, but probably comparable with other hotels locally.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Canal. We loved the uninterrupted view and quiet of the canal at the back of the hotel, which made up for the noise and less than picturesque views at the front. Everywhere was immaculate and tastefully furnished.Our room was very chic with a welcome balcony to admire the view from. The shower was fantastic! The staff were charming and very helpful. It was lovely having breakfast out on the terrace. The situation of the hotel was so convenient- a leisurely walk of approx 10 mins into Aigres Mortes.We cannot recommend this hotel more highly and will definitely be returning!
