First, a few minor negatives: The breakfast was very basic, and the single room a bit too small (as well as the bed). The free Wi-Fi proved a bit difficult to set up (attempt eventually abandoned). The shower cabin floor was covered with iffy planks to stand on. Otherwise a great hotel with an own gated parking lot, and just a few clicks from the ancient ruins.

The hotel location is 5-min walk from the sea, and 5-min car ride from the valley temple. The value for money was very high as this was the cheapest B&B we found on our trip. We had a breakfast buffer with cornetti, access to swimming pool, private parking and spacious room. Even though the staff was not as welcoming as in other places we recommend that place for anybody willing to visit the valley of temples and have a sea/swimming pool break.

OverallI had a wonderful time at Cosatzzurra. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I stayed a full week and was really glad I did. The instructions were very clear to follow from Agrigento, and the bus stop right outside the hotel is truly a bonus. I spent a couple of days lounging about the pool, but I have to say it was not for anything more than cooling down in; far too small for laps for anyone else who does enjoy proper swimming. The breakfasts were fantastic; so nice to have such a range of food on offer other than the just a continental breakfast. Meals in the restaurant were also reasonably priced and of high standard. As much as I hate supermarkets, I have to say it was a bonus having one three doors up the road, as well as a great pizza restaurant. I have to say I was one of only two single travellers, so this was a slight drawback. The afternoon trip to the ruins and to Reale to see the Turkish steps were a highlight, thanks to the vivacious staff. My main criticism is that it probably needs to be a little clearer that the main beaches which are best for swimming in are a bus ride away. Thus you need to walk to the end of the street the hotel is on and catch a bus there, or take one outside the hotel and then change at the end of the street. The hotel is situated near the end of the bus loop from Agrigento. This also needs to be made a little clearer. As well as the fact that this loop only goes one way. I worked it out by speaking the language and asking lots of questions. Perhaps the staff might like to wear nametags though or introduce themselves by name? After a whole week I felt embarrassed not knowing anyone's names, especiallly when the staff came up to me while I was waiting at the bus stop to greet me goodbye. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to get away from the busy thoroughfare of the main street. I had a great stay. Thank you,. And thank you for the complimentary bottle of red on my departure. Antonio Castello,Aus.

This was a really nice hotel in one of the most amazing cities in the world (that is, if you are an ancient history buff--and if you aren't, it isn't likely you would travel to Agrigento in any event). The owner poured us a welcoming drink upon our arrival and was extremely hospitable and helpful. Free parking, fair prices, supermarket nearby, free internet, comfortable bed--it doesn't get any better than that in a 3 star hotel in Italy.

A nice holiday at San Leone. Recently they opended a full size swimming pool area with bar and lounge at the parking lot. A really great breakfast buffet with fresh bread, cake and large variety of fresh fruit. Traffic from the main road can be very loud even late at night but with air conditioning one can keep the windows shut. No private beach resort facilities any more as stated in the discription but clean public beaches are a walk or short ride with car away and the new pool is really an alternative.

This is a family run hotel and they were extremely helpful and friendly. I was given toursit information and directions, the temples are a short and easy drive away. Found an excellent restaurant in San Leone. They are currently building a swimming pool to offer extra service. They care about the service they give to their guests and I was given a bottle of wine when I left.

This was the most welcoming hotel I have ever stayed at. The owner went out of his way to make us comfortable (welcome drinks accompanied by video of the area, maps, information). There are 2 computers for internet access (free), and an excellent on-site restaurant. We even received a parting gift. Friendly and comfortable.

Very comfortable hotel, well situated less than a 10 minute drive to the Valley of the Temples. Easy to get to with our TomTom, though I doubt it would be much more difficult with just a printed map. Plenty of parking, with a new lot being refurbished. We were traveling in Sicily in the off-season so we didn't run into any crowds. Imagine it likely is bustling during the warmer months given the fact that it's a reasonable walk to the beach. The room comfortably slept 2 adults and our 2 young children, age 11 and 6. The bathroom was well appointed, though the shower was a little snug. Very reasonably priced menu at dinner with a nice variety and quite tasty. Breakfast is continental style offering enough variety to satisfy the entire family. Costazzurra was perfect for our needs as we toured the island. We'd recommend it without hesitation.

This has to be one of the easiest hotels to find in Sicily! I can not say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff was, it is family run with great pride! Very close to the beach and many excellent restaurants but also has a good restaurant in the hotel. We would definately stay here if we are in San Leone area in the future.

Staff here were very helpful, spoke English well. Comfortable family-size room; convenient parking and location near the beach. Minor complaints: food was so-so; towels were scratchy; spa unheated; and the "laundry service" is only a very expensive wash/press service that charged by the piece. We were told there were no self-servie laundromats, but there are some in town. Also you do have to haul your baggage up a few steps before you reach the lift. Check out Agora bakery in nearby village.

Hotel Costazzurra was nice and pleasant; the staff, consisting of father and son, were very friendly. Two things were unexpected to us: what sold us was their webpage which shows the beach, the ocean, and of course, the Valley of Temples which was the reason for us to visit Agrigento. The hotel was no where near the water, and quite far from the Valley of Temples. In addition, if you wanted to try a restaurant, there were no restaurants nearby, you had to eat at the hotel. Almost all guests tried to go to a restaurant and ended up returning to the hotel for dinner. Food was not the greatest, my italian sausage and chicken were undercooked inside. We were only staying there 2 nights so we stuck it out. The owners were very nice and friendly, they gave us a bottle of wine upon our departure--nice gesture. We should have stayed closer to the Valley of Temples. The hotel's webpage is well presented and gives you the impression that you'll be by the ocean but you are not. The beach houses which you could reserve must be located away from this property because there is no ocean nearby.

Although located in San Leone, this hotel is extremely well located for visiting the Agrigento Valley of the Temples (distance about 2 km). There is a bus service that stops outside the hotel. Plenty of safe parking space available. On arrival an explanation of the area is given and a free drink provided. Restaurant good although only one fish dish provided and lacking in a variety of vegetables.

Food was very poor. (Our worst dinner in three weeks in Italy.) Wait staff incompetent. Location 3 or 4 blocks from beach, but a ten minute drive to Valley of Temples. Access to hotel required walking down a narrow steep ramp that hotel employees drove at reckless speed.

Dot and I spent 6 days in Sicily but only one night at Agrigento. The Valley of the Temples and its museums are an absolute treasure. We were warmly welcomed to the Costazzura which is a family business managed by two brothers. The welcome included a very good DVD highlighting the Valley of the Temples and other Agrigento sights. Whilst we were there nothing was too much trouble, and we were able to get all the information we needed about travel options, plus a recommendation to a nearby gelati cafe (unfortunately our travel arrangements meant the only chance we had to get there was when we passed during 'La Pausa'. The meals provided a good range of Italian / Sicilian options that were good value for money. I couldn't recommend this hotel more highly - we're not after the broad range of services available through 4 or 5 star places, and Costzzurra delivers exactly what we wanted at a good price. Other hotels could learn a lot from the way our hosts looked after us.

The Costazzurra brothers are well educated in the Hotel Business. They are up and coming entrepreneurs, we wish them well. It was somewhat of a relief to be able to communicate in English to the brothers, who made every effort to answer all our questions about our surroundings. I found the Senior Costazzurra very endearing. All the areas of the hotel and it's rooms were spotless. The internet access was a plus.

It's a familiary hotel and they have welcome us with a drink and some tipps about the region. The inhouse-restaurant offers sicilian-food for a real price. It was February, and we had 1 night on an island-trip, but we think it is a good destination in summer. In this case, 10 minutes by foot to the beach.

Firstly I would like to commend the Costazzura Hotel for the excellect directions. We were driving from Trapani and from the time we left the motorway the hotel was signposted. We got an excellent welcome from the owner when we arrived. He supplied us with maps and advice on what to see in the area. We were given an upgraded room which was spotlessly clean and had a balcony. Unfortunately, the balcony overlooked a derelict building. The restaurant is very good value. Typical Sicilian food is served (sometimes a bit heavy handed with the sauces). After each meal we had there we were given either a complimentary liqeur or desert. When we left we were given a bottle of local wine.

This is fantastic hotel. The staff are very helpful, they 'go the extra mile!; the rooms are great and the food excellent. We stayed in 4 hotels in sicily on our stay and this was by far the best. It doent have sea views, but it is only a very short walk to the beach and the attractions are not far away by car or bus.The secure car park is a nice touch (remote controlled gates). Its a shame it doesnt have a pool, but the whirlpool they have is OK, and with the beach so close it doesnt really matter(small charge for private beach or free public beach). It was very hot weather when we were there and their airconditioning in the rooms worked well. But the best thing about this hotel which makes it so special is the people who run it (a family business), who know how to treat their guests. I would recommend it and would definately stay there again.

A perfect place to stay whilst visiting Palermo, with the benefit of a peaceful environment to return to. Our room had an amaxing view over the valley towards Palermo and the sea, you can have breakfast on the terrace with the same view. Monreale itself is a great place to spend a day, the Cathedral is amazing and there are a number of good restaurants. The hotel was not at all busy, considering we stayed there at the end of July. I can't imagine why as I would strongly recommend it for the view alone.

Most convenient stopover for visiting the ancient sites at Agrigento. Very helpful & friendly staff. An evening walk to the beach is interesting, but don't expect the refinement of a posh resort!

If you can, STAY HERE! The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the public beach and a 5 minute drive from the Valley of the Temples. It is family run and the service is excellent. We usually don't eat at the hotels we stay at but the family was so nice we decided to try it. Before dinner the son offered us a Sicilian appertiv wine to try. For 16 Euro each we got a 4 course, excellent, home cooked meal. The rooms are spacious, there is free internet in the lobby, and gated parking. When we checked out the family gave us a bottle of the wine we tried the night before as a present. I sincerely recommend this hotel if you plan on a visit to Valley of the Temples and Agrigento.

Good modern hotel in seaside resort of San Leone. You can get there from Agrigento railway station on bus number 2 which does a loop round San Leone and stops opposite the hotel on return journey. Same bus for temples area. Location OK - short walk to beach and restaurants.

Hotel had very secure parking, which is important. Staff was extremely gracious - family-run. The breakfast was not great, but the restaurant for dinner, after a long day of driving, was quite good. Not having to get into our car and drive to find a restaurant was a blessing.

If it were in a quiet area, i would rate this hotel much higher - double room was comfortable, single room was cell-like - very noisy at night - no view - traffic, barking dogs - breakfast unremarkable, but dinner marvelous - very friendly, extremely helpful family staff - salvatore & his family couldn't have been more helpful - relatively convenient location - plenty of secure parking - not far from beach & restaurants - beach not ready for tourists, yet - close to archaelogical area -

This hotel is in San Leone, a rather faded seaside town, not Agrigento. It is also located about 10 mins walk from the seafront and is surrounded by half constructed concrete shells. Having said that the hotel itself is comfortable with good sized rooms and some spacious balconies. Plentiful secured parking. Quiet location although limited soundproofing between rooms. Good value restaurant serves meat only menu, Le Caprice up the road offers more choice but at a significantly greater cost. Overall a reasonable base if you have a car.

You can like it or not, but in the morning there is a strong smell of brioche going into everywhere (which enters the bedrooms ...). I liked it, my husband did not ... . Anyway, a little bit noisy because there is not moquette or wood, but it is "only" a three star hotel and, therfore, excellent!

Hotel is located in a trendy suburb of Agrigento, called San Leone, on a very busy and extremely noisy street, during all night of our 4-day-stay, as a trendy, well know disco, the beach, a supermarket, are nor far away. Much noise during the night from cars, vespas and people. Air con system in the room works well, but very noisy, so ask to switch it off. If you open the door to your balcony, much traffic noise comes in. With 30 degress celsius during night in late june it gave us no rest at all. Breakfast is OK, but very simple. (but don't try the grapefruit juice ...) Positive remarks on the scured parking for the rental car. Good restaurant locations close to the harbour, with good seafood and excellent cost/performance. Nice are for trips to Temple Valley and some smaller towns in the neighborhood.

We found the staff friendly and helpful. Finding the hotel by car was easy and the secure car park was very handy. The immediate surroundings are not particulalarly attractive but access is easy (unlike some of the other hotels we stayed at) and it was handy for driving to the temples. We ended up eating at the hotel as we were tired and found the food excellent with generous portions. Would stay again if visiting Agrigento.

San Leone is the most trash covered town I have ever visited. Litter has apparently never been picked up anywhere. Town could be very nice with a little care but currently it is upsetting because of extreme litter. Hotel is fine, okay but not exciting and on the high end of price for what is there in May.
