The main advantage of this hotel is that it is right next to the station and also only across the road from the bus stop where you can get a bus to the Valle delle Templi and also to the excellent free beaches at San Leone (number 2 bus for beach every half an hour; get the ticket in the bar at the rail station) It is also within easy walking distance of the old part of Agrigento - ignore the ugly modern buildings and head for the Via Atenea and surrounding small streets. The rooms are fairly small but the bathrooms proportionally enormous and on the side of the building looking down the hill (rooms 100-102) there is a great view towards the sea and the floodlit temples from the small balconies. The room was very clean when it was cleaned, but unfortunately for two days my rooms was not cleaned or supplied with fresh towels. A lady in reception was extremely professional, helpful and apologetic about this and went and got me clean towels. Later a man told me it was because I didn't leave my key at reception - yet neither had I on the first two days and the room was cleaned then. The breakfast is disappointing, I had to go out to buy fruit and there is no cheese, cereal or yoghurt - none of which I would have thought difficult to provide. This was one of four budget hotels I used during the holiday and the breakfast at all the others was excellent. In summary I would stay again because of the convenient location, but I think they need to smarten their act up a bit.

The hotel premises from the outside are not so appealing. However, the front of house service has a very friendly manner with great local knowledge. English is spoken quite well. The service is not a slick professionalism as in a businessmans hotel, but rather a very appealing and friendly manner which is welcoming and invites questions about tourist sites. Many rooms open onto a central 1st floor courtyard where tables and chairs are set up for smokers and non-smokers alike. The breakfast room across the courtyard is well set up with good variety of food. The room have elegant drapes. There is a free internet service point. The hotel is 4 minutes walk from the Catania train station. There has been a lot of care in decorating the hotel and engineers might look at the exacting workmanship inside and outside of the glass elevator public lift.

Hotel is modern , located on the right hand side of the railway station as you emerge. Bus to the temples leaves in front of the station. The two of us were given an adjoining double and single with ensuite bathroom. Unmanned breakfast room with pre-packed croissants and coffee machine. OK for an overnight stop. The Duomo is worth a look if you've got time, walk back through the old city. The reception gave us a street plan. We found it easier to continue our jouney to Syracuse by bus (station 15 minutes walk up the hill facing hotel).

Very easy to reach. Basically in the square outside the train station - a bit further if you are arriving by bus but only probably 7mins on foot downhill. Ignore the person who said it is left of the train station. Just look for the Europacar sign and then you will see the sign for the hotel. I was offered a room with a view on arrival, only to be told it was taken. So I had a room with no view or balcony but it was quite spacious. Agrigento itself is pleasant enough but I didnt quite feel comfortable later in the evening as single female. Nothing to see as such except for the ruins which can be done in half a day. I stayed 2 nights, but would suggest only staying for 1.

The best things about this hotel were the location (right across the street from the train station) and the women at the desk during the day, who were very friendly and helpful. However, this did not match the other 3 star properties we stayed in. It was more like a 2 star- VERY BASIC. Also, unfortunately, the night clerk was talking so loudly and had the TV in the lobby blaring so loudly we had to go out and ask him to keep it down- at 2200! Is this college? Overall we were moderately disappointed.

The hotel is near the sation in the very city centre, but it's hard to reach by car. You have to take a small slopy road to reach it. Have a detailed city map ! The room was very spacious, but you hear every WC noise, people walking or bathing, talking etc. The breakfast consisted only of bread-butter-marmelade and some cereals, no cheese no meat like in every 3-stars hotel. The coffee was not good, they seem to add some chicory to it making it bitter. And finally the bed was bad, too soft, we did not sleep well.

This hotel is in a good location for those without cars- it is right outside the central train station, only need to cross 3 roads to arrive at the city centre (where you can find nice restaurants) and right in front of it there are buses to the Valley of temples. The rooms were a bit old but clean. The breakfast was simple and the coffee was from a "hot water dispenser" only (different from other italian hotels which usually have a coffee brewing machine) but the coffee still tasted very nice surprisingly! (not sure if its because all coffee in italy taste good) Again, I recommend this hotel for those who are not driving.

excellent location for catching a bus to the Valley of the Temples and also for strolling around the older part of town and the great shopping street, Via Atenea; the staff was welcoming and pleasant; we didn't have a car, but noticed there was parking available for hotel guests; our only complaint is that the breakfast was totally made up of sweets and bread made of refined flour--there was no protein and no fruit--it would have been so easy for them to have offered yogurt and fruit--this is a serious enough problem for us that we will look for a different hotel or B & B next time we go to Agrigento--if a traveller had peanut butter or yogurt or cheese and fruit with them, this hotel would be fine

The Amici was clean, comfortable (though hardly deluxe), and quite spacious - we had a quadruple room (2 adults, 2 kids) and this was actually two rooms with bathroom in between. Key for us, at least, was that it is a 90 second walk from the Agrigento train station. This made it convenient for arriving at night, as well as for buses (or cabs) to the Valley of the Temples and for walking into the historical centre of the city. All in all a very good find, particularly if you are not familiar with the city. If you want a more romantic experience, though, some of the B&Bs up on the city's hills looked very nice.

The hotel is located left of the main railway station, an europcar office with big sign is in the same house. From before the station it looks like a one-floor building, but in fact is not, the terrain is very scarped, the house has three more floors with windows to the rear. The situation is excellent: local bus station for temples area and beach 20 meters from hotel, railway station at 100 meters, main bus station at 300 meters. The rooms are quiet, at least if you have quiet neighbors, the breakfast includes croissants, pre-packed jam, marmelade and butter, cookies, self-service coffee and hot milk. Staff speaks English and is very helpful. Don't expect anything stylish. There is a good restaurant at 20 meters to the left of the hote.

This hotel is quite near the train station, but I hear trains are very slow and infrequent in this part of Sicily so we arrived by car and it did take a while to find the hotel. The one way streets are maddening. The hotel does have free parking which was wonderful. Breakfast was adequate. Room was clean and quiet but not spacious and the shower could use an upgrade. The price was very reasonable as well. The only downside was a totally disorganized person at the reception desk who took about a half hour to check us in after some embarrassing questions. As a gay couple travelling all over Italy 2007, reception desks ask "one bed or two" which is very reassuring when 2 guys check in together. This person made a big deal about it and put us in two single beds. Really the only glitch in the whole stay.

Good location very close to the centre of Agrigento, and very quiet (particularly considering the location). However, our room was dark and murky and cold - rooms on the other side looked brighter - and had no shelf space (just a massive wardrobe with 3 coathangers) so we were living out of the suitcase. Breakfasts were standard fare of croissants and luke-warm coffee. Difficult hotel to find, but more the fault of Agrigento's one-way system than the Hotel's. The Valley of the Temples did not disappoint!!

You can walk to the old city on the hill, it is across from the train station and near the center of the newer part of the city. The hotel itself is behind other buildings and looking onto others so it has no view and is hard to find. It is old, but quite well kept. The bathroom was new and all marble. I will echo the comments of others here by saying that the hotel was extremely difficult to find...even with a map. There are numerous one-way streets in Agrigento and it's very easy to get turned around. A Good Samaritan finally led us to the Hotel. The Hotel is small, but clean and centrally located within Agrigento. You are in walking distance of numerous eating establishments. The English-Speaking staff was extremely helpful and I can't commend them highly enough. This is not a five-star hotel. But for the budget conscious, the hotel is located in a quite area and had clean rooms with good, hot showers. What more could you ask for?

Sauberes großes Zimmer mit geräumigen Bad. Hervorragende Lage zu Stadt Tal der Tempel. Freundlichkeit und das Frühstück ließen zu wünschen übrig.

The hotel was not at the location as specified on the map and it was extremely difficult to find by car, particularly as it is in a one way street. There are a few signs to the hotel, but not nearly enough. However it was right next to the railway and bus stations and ideally located for restaurants (Trattoria da Giovanni at Piazzetta Vadala has excellent food though not the cheapest). Surprisingly, for the location, it was quiet. Breakfast was basic and most of it was prepacked. The valley of the temples is a short bus ride or car journey. Five minutes walk from the hotel and you can look out across the "valley" where the temples are lit up at night.

Very convenient location near the station and main shopping street. Service from staff varied depending on the person. Rooms were of a decent size and clean. Would stay here again if in Agrigento.

stanze rumorose a causa dell'impianto di aria condizionata/riscaldamento. Bagni senza riscaldamento e quindi gelati! Colazione povera.. noisy rooms because of the air conditioned system. Bathrooms without heating and so very cold!!! Poor breakfast..
