The Colleverde Park Hotel is a very good place to stay when visiting Agrigento. It is a very short drive from the Valley of the Temples and is a clean, well-run hotel. In fact, the grounds are beautiful--and you can see the temples from the property. We ate dinner outdoors in a garden-like setting and the food and service were excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel--as I would a visit to Agrigento to see the Valley of the Temples.

We stayed just for one night in this hotel. We had a wonderful stay. It´s an old hotel but keeps its charm. Wonderful room, public areas are beautiful and at a very close distance from the Valley of Temples, a must visit in southern Sicilia.I would have liked to stay one more night for a good rest in the middle of our trip to Sicily.

Well located, close to the Temples. Many rooms have a view over the valley of the temples and the ocean beyond. A lovely setting. Our room had a beautiful, spacious patio. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room, itself, was lovely with its big glass windows. The gardens are amazing. We liked this hotel very much and would stay again. It is out of the hotel's control, but dogs barking all night kept us awake.

The hotel staff speaks many languages and is happy to share their Sicilian culture with you. The food was excellent at both breakfast and dinner. The location is within two K of the beautiful Valley of the Temples. There is a limited number of restaurants in walking distance. Our room had a lovely view of the Temples.

Very good location. we had the room have direct view to the temple. it was great! Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed during our one night stay. but, the restaurant opposite the hotel which recommended by reception staff was really nice. plenty of parking space. The garden is beautiful.

The location of this hotel is its strong point (near the archeological sites and out of the city of Agrigento), and the gardens are well-maintained. The rooms are mediocre in all aspects, including cleanliness, but adequate for the price. The service level of the staff is the weakest element. There are enough staff, but they need customer orientation training as they are far below the usual Italian standard.

Great location for visiting the old town and the temples, friendly helpful staff. The only negative was the restaurant which we used one night. Food OK (not great) but take your own atmosphere! It was full of older people whispering and felt a bit like eating in a morgue.

Beautiful gardens. Small rooms but good location near Temples. Long walk to sites but short car ride. Breakfast no eggs, only fair selection. Desk staff pleasant at check in and helpful about local restaurants. Several restaurants within a block of hotel. Internet access at modest price. Pleasant sitting room near bar. Bar service attentive. Hotel parking available at no extra charge. A little difficult to find but locals knew where it was.

The hotel wasn't easy to find, and the location is quite busy, not bucolic as it looks in the photograph. Once onto the grounds, however, we liked it a lot. Our room looked out over a garden and onto the Valley of the Temples, which was not, however, within walking distance. We had an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant, which had only two other groups to serve that night, right before Christmas, 2004.

I would have rated the overall stay higher because The Colleverde Hotel is in a nice location and most of the staff were very friendly and courteous. However, we had one problem with booking online versus the room we received. When I booked online, I requested, paid, and received a reservation for a "double deluxe room". However, when I arrived at the hotel, the woman in reception said she had no more view rooms available and told me that she had sent me a E-mail (at home) to tell me this. Unfortunately, I left my house the morning after I booked this hotel. Upon returning home from holiday, I had not received any such E-mail. My only complaint about this hotel is that they did not have a double deluxe room to offer me (as I had booked and paid for at 145 Euros per night)Therefore, they should have decreased my room rate to 120 Euros per night which was the rate on the Venere site for a double standard room. The normal rate on the room that the hotel gave me had a price range; the highest rate was 145 which means I paid full rate for the hotel room. If Colleverde had told Venere or myself about the room situation, I could have changed my reservation to a double standard room. In essence, I paid an extra 50 Euros for no reason at all.

A very nice hotel indeed in an excellent location. It is only a pity that it has not a swimming pool although the garden is exotic and relaxing. Highly recommended. Although the room is in the name of Joe Mejlak it is only the undernamed who have organised all. In fact this address is in my name. Regards. FRANK MUSCAT

Although the hotel has a large garden, it would be very much improved were it to have a swimming pool to be able to cool down after walking around the valley of the temples. The room we had was spacious enough, but had we wished to unpack our cases, there would not have been enough storage space for our belongings.

Excellent quality hotel in close proximity to Valley of the Temples. Our stay was enjoyable. We got the impression that most guests only stayed for 1 or 2 nights and were touring around. We found it more than adequate for a longer stay. The staff were helpful with information on places to visit. Agrigento is not an especially inspiring town to be based in however

Pleasant hotel, if a little lacking in character. Located half-way between town centre and Valley of Temples (each about 1.5-2 km distant), so not comfortable walking distance to either), but takes advantage of good views across Valley of Temples. Very friendly and obliging staff.

This was a lovely property -- the inside is much prettier inside than the external fascade. The location is great. The rooms were, I think, overpriced for what we got. I must say that the outside patios were beautiful, the interior decor left much to be desired.

This hotel was terrific. The room was spacious and the bathroom facilities modern. The location near the Valley of the Temples and town was also terrific. The only problem we had was parking one night. Because of the view from the garden, the hotel hosts a lot of weddings and events. One of the nights we stayed, there was a wedding and they didn't reserve parking for the clients of the hotel. It was nearly impossible to get in and out of the parking lot and we had to leave the car keys at the desk so they could move the car when the wedding ended. In the scheme of things, not a big deal. Overall quality for the price was excellent!

Used for a one night stay for a visit to the Valley of the Temples. Friendly and welcoming staff in a clean and secure environment. Rooms showing some signs of age and breakfast very limited in its offering. However, great gardens to wander around and for 1/2 nights an ideal location for this part of the island.

The Colleverde Park is one of the last modern buildings on the way out of Agrigento town before you hit the archaeological zone. It's therefore a fairly long walk either up into town or down to the zone - especially if it's hot but the local buses are good and stop outside the hotel. The hotel itself is very much a "business" type - a bit impersonal and bland - with the very nice gardens obviously set up for large scale weddings/corporate catering events. We paid for a deluxe room but rally the only thing deluxe about it was the view of the temples (which was worth paying for nevertheless). I would have been very disappointed with the hotel without the view. According to one of the main Italian restaurant guides the restaurant just across the road from the hotel is one of the best in the area - but unfortunatly it is closed on Fridays otherwise we would not have tried the restaurant at the hotel - it was awful. Lovely setting but the food was indescribably mediocre and expensive. Overall this is not the sort of place I would normally want to stay in on holiday but you do get three things - the view (if you pay for it), the equidistance to both the town and the zones and the good restaurant across the road (but not if you stay on a Friday!)

We were broadly happy with the Colleverde Park Hotel. Our room was quite small (but large enough) and was properly maintained. The shower was rather unsatisfactory -- poor water flow and either too hot or too cold. The restaurant is in a stunning location and the food is fine but rather expensive by local standards. We found the staff friendly, courteous and helpful.

A lovely hotel. Location is perfect for the historic sites...we took a public bus outside hotel to the sites. Breakfast was good and held in the restaurant overlooking the hotel's beautiful gardens. Only hitch was check-in. Rooms were not ready for new guests that day and some did not get the room they requested/reserved. The Colleverde did have a safe which is a nice convenience.

Rooms are small but ours had an excellent view of the temples (you must request a room with this view when you book). Restaurant is very good. We stayed in three four star hotels during our vacation in Sicily. Colleverde Park Hotel was in a class of its own. The setting and gardens were out of this world and we are determined to return. The restaurant might be a little more adventurous, but the breakfast was more than adequate. The images on the website don't correspond in colour to the real thing and perhaps don't quite live up to the splendour of the actual hotel.

We did spend 3 nights at this hotel. The big advantage is the excellent view on the valley of the temples and its good location (museum and temples are in walking distance). Negative was the breakfast and the bathroom that needs urgently a renovation. The hotel has no personality and is like one of the chain hotels.

The hotel was somewhat difficult for us to find, for seems to have two different street addresses and the signs to it are not particularly helpful. Once we found our way there, however, we had an excellent time. The staff was courteous and friendly. One of the gentlemen at the front desk directed us to Kokolos, a splendid restaurant at the edge of town. Our room was pleasant and brightly lit (though we always seem to need more light for reading). I would definately recommend the hotel to friends and happily return there.

This was the worst hotel of my 17 day trip to Italy and ironically, the only 4 star (the rest were 3). The hotel decor, especially in the rooms, was awful, the fan in the windowless bathroom was broken, and we had to call the desk for toilet paper each day. Dogs barked each night. Fortunately, we didn't eat at the restaurant - others who ate there told me that it was even worse than the rooms. I hated this place.

Room seemed available on web site, but first reservation was refused because selected room type was not available. I was offered a Deluxe room for additional price and accepted. Room had a very nice view on the Temples and was OK, but besides the view I would not rate it deluxe. Breakfast was also sufficient, but nothing special, same as restaurant that offered a dinner for 25 euro. Overall I was satisfied and had no problems, but I think price/performance was OK for Sicily, but not so good compared to other countries.

A lovely hotel, with superb views of the Valley of Temples. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the gardens (which overlok the Temples too) are gorgeous - the perfect place to relax after a day's sightseeing. Worth it for the stunning view alone. Outside the old town, Agrigento is a bit of an ugly sprawl, so we felt it was well worthwhile spending a bit extra for this little oasis.

The room request was for an air conditioned room. When we arrived I called down to the front desk and asked for the ac to be turned on. I was told that they were working on it and it would be fixed by 8pm. The air never did work. Had to sleep with the window open and had to listen to noise from the road all night. Told front desk about the problen the next morning and was told "what do you want us to do? The air does not work." Would think twice before I book with your service again. Paid for a room with a/c and got a room without a/c. The man at the fornt desk could not have cared less about it. Regards, Billy Chambers
