Hostel Palazzo Galletti Abbiosi - Ravenna

We stayed just for one night, over the weekend, and everything was perfect, starting from the warm welcome from the staff at the reception. The room was spacious and clean and absolutely quiet. The service and the competence of the staff for the breakfast were definitely top class. Just one remark: the hotel internal parking might be managed in such a way that almost all guests have the chance to let their car in.

We stayed here for two nights in September 2011. The room was by far the largest we had during our month-long stay in Italy, but quite unfortunately, the bathroom smelled. We complained after the first night as we left for the day, and when we returned, the bathroom had been thoroughly bleach cleaned. The maid had obviously tried very hard to eliminate the smell, but unfortunately the first impression is the one that stuck with us.

Having booked 2 rooms 6 months in advance we were given what possibly were the worst 2 rooms in the hotel one of which overlooked the hotels air conditioning system. Avoid Room 3.

A luxurious hotel ideally located for visiting Ravenna on foot. A spacious room overlooking the quiet courtyard and ample free parking off road. Delicious breakfasts served by friendly staff. Very helpful receptionists at the front desk. This was an excellent hotel charging very reasonable rates. I would go there again.

Charming spot in an old palace ; I found it gorgeous ! Of course this kind of old hotel are noisy if your neighbours are... Unfortunately the front desk is not in accordance with the decor ; nobody speaks french which is rare in Italy. At the check-in the clerk was confused with wifi connexion ; at the check out another clerk was unpolite and first needed time for personal conversation on the phone ; she finally understood I needed assistance to open the parking gate.

I just regret that the beautiful courtyard is converted into a bike & car parking ;otherwise verything was fabulous in this hotel.

This is an excellent hotel providing good value compared to other Italian cities. Extremely spacious room, good breakfast, within walking distance of all sites and railway station.

Well appointed rooms, good size. Outside room was noisy and we where relocated to a courtyard facing room. Great location. Very good brkfst.

We arrived by train and could not have chosen a better place to stay. Its a five minute walk through an undistinguished part of the city but the hotel and the room were great, just on the edge of the city centre and the pedestrianised area. Room was very large, airy, generally very quiet (though with some traffic noise around 7.30am) with large ensuite and double shower. Having the mini-fridge was great. We were lucky enough to get a room with ceiling paintings and discovered others in the internet room and the piano room. Only noticed the fitness room on our last day (we stayed 3 nights). Went to Ravenna to see the glorious mosiacs and really liked it and the laid-back attitude to these wonderful artworks. The city just seems to take them in its stride: no great fuss, not inundated with tourists and tour groups.

This hotel was well situated to visit the main attractions of central Ravenna and had the added bonus of car parking on site. For the price, it was very good value.

Everything was great except you need to let reception know if you want to leave early as there is no one there till 7am. Can be a problem if you have an early train.

Well located hotel, with parking, easy walk to main square. Lovely building, great bedroom but bathroom needs complete renovation. Provides a good breakfast if one gets down early but keeping the table stocked and supplying tea/coffee was haphazard. The reception staff weren't always on the ball either.

A wonderful stay!! The hotel is ideally located, and is fun to be in. Cannot think of a better place to stay.
