Hostal Pizarro - Madrid

The stay was really nice! Staff was helpful and the room was nice and clean. The area was good, close to restaurants, bars, and the shopping area, everything you wanna to do is a walk distance.

Very friendly staff, excellent price/quality ratio. Strongly suggested.

This hotel is in a part of Madrid that is in transition. Back home I live in this type of neighborhood and love it, but it may be a bit off putting to some. Don't let it be. This hotel is a great find. The welcome and assistance we received from Jose, the manager, was wonderful. He is friendly and helpful. He booked our flamenco show for us and added to how great our stay was. Rooms are small and basic but clean and with newer linens, etc. I know it is listed as a gay hotel, but as straight travelers we felt as welcome as anyone. Don't Et this stop you from such a great find.

Calle Pizarro is virtually an unknown small street in downtown Madrid, hard to find as taxi drivers don't know about it.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay here and I will recommend it to my friends and book here again next time I return to Madrid

I was in little room but nice and clean, at reception stuff is very kind, hotel is in 200 mt form Gran Via, enough near the metro!

Although the hostel is obviously gay friendly, do not hesitate if you are straight, as I am. Good value for the money, very well located (4 min to Callao) but in a very quiet street.

Very easy and quick walking access to city centre. There's major renovation work going on outside the building so there's no sign for the hostal, but I asked next door and found it easily. I couldn't believe how quiet it was, but my room wasn't above the street. Very helpful and pleasant at reception. Fabulous location for a weekend break!

Hostel needs to invest in new beds. Rock hard and short beds are not normal. Outside of that, it was a nice place.

This Hostal met my standards. The staff were fabulous - very helpful. Good location - a short walk to the main city. Access to transport Felt safe.

I didn't like the room had not a window, only the bathroom which was incredibly small had a very small and not exterior window. The romm was peaceful, clean and with a very comfortable bed.

Nice enough little hotel, has been fairly recently redecorated with funky colourful furnishings and is clean and bright. Thin walls between rooms, though. Staff were weird; the guy I saw briefly in the evening was nice and helpful, but the man who was there during the day seemed to resent us being there, was quite rude and gave totally wrong information about how to use the hotel's wifi (as in, he said there was no password needed when there was a stack of password slips in the drawer next to him). Needs a better map; is not in Chueca but slightly to the west of it.

i recommend truly the hostel based on price/quality ratio. It is clean, new, the service is nice, is in the center, rather quite (as for the center of madrid). do not be scared by the front door of the building, is rather nasty, but the hostel itself is very nice, indeed. It is perfect for vacations for young people.

Muy buena ubicación del hostal en Madrid, aunque no tiene aire acondicionado, y en verano, se nota... Es muy moderno, práctico y confortable, las camas muy cómodas. La entrada al hostal muy poco acojedora, deberían reformarla. Servicio atento. En general contentos, volveríamos (aunqu en en verano lo pensaríamos bastante!) :)

Well located hostel near to the center of the attractions and metro stations. The building as most of those in that area suffers a bit of age but the rooms are clean and renowed. Make sure to arrive at a time useful to check in as at night there's no one to register and give you the room keys. Eventually arrange directly with the hostel personnel who are very friendly and helpful

It was the first time I stayed at Hostal Pizarro and I would return any time when going to Madrid again.
