It 'a hostel not a hotel. Bathroom too small

It would have been perfect if the curtains (which were not even the same length) were as long as the windows so that customers were not awakened by the first ray of the sun very early (6am) and if the neighbours did not watch TV loudly in the middle of the night (until 2am...).

Very practical!!!!! Reception great and bed's comfort excellent!

As for the check-in, they were made to wait for 30 minutes or more. The rest room was broken, and the room was changed from twin by the dormitory. Water doesn't flow as follows for 30 minutes or more when the rest room is thrown. As for the credit card, the machine broke, it was not repaired for as much as four days, and made them pay in cash. Anyway, the staff is unkind. It becomes impossible to use the floor in the ground suddenly, it is made ascending and descending the stairs every day from the second floor, and there are neither an explanation nor an apology.

We booked a room for five with bathroom. The room was spacious and clean, great location; however, the size of bathroom is exactly the same as the toilet in the aircraft, super tiny, no space for one person to stretch arms. Our room is facing the avenue, lots of noise came from outisde also inside if someone used the toilet or shower. The tap for shower head is too tight to close. Some of us almost got burned. They definitely need to change new mattress. We felt the metal parts inside the mattress against our back so we must lay another blanket on the surface. The breakfast was great, we liked it a lot. The lady receptionist was really professional and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to youngsters.

The hotel was perfect for us. We were looking for a place just to sleep that had good prices. It was in a great location which made it easy for us to visit all the sights in London. The staff was very helpful!

The bathroom in our 6-bed room was extremely small and basic, made of plastic, like those you can find in ship cabins. Besides the cistern took almost 20 minutes to fill up, which was very unconfortable and unpleasant. There were not lockers nor any shelves or hangers for clothes. The location is fantastic and that's its best value. The prize is too high for the quality of the facilities.

We stay four nights. We travelled with our four children. We have no surprise with the hotel. Only the ventilation makes too much noise during the nignt. And we coulld'nt stop it.

Enjoyed our stay and especially the central location. Would recommend to others. Quiet and clean just a bit small for 3 people.

The hotel room is okay, but the night receptionist that we met was very unfriendly, I drove a hire car and ask for parking space, and was quoted 25GBP to park in the hotel's small garage, to enter the garage, I have to drive down to basement through 2 doors which the receptionist hold one of the door key, and the other was automatically open, but to get out, you have to press a button. On 2nd time that I wanted to drive to the garage, I was told by the receptionist that the 2nd door was already opened, and so she didn't give me the key, but when I drove to the garage, the door was not opened, so I was stuck between the two doors, there was no intercom at the entry, thus I have to reverse my car, and while I was reversing, the automatic door closed on my car, causing the side liner to come off the car, oh, what a bad experience that I had. I will like to warn any person against parking at the garage especially with the high parking charges. There were ample public parking spaces in front of the hotel. All the poor ratings that I gave were due to the night receptionist who was very unfriendly and not helpful.

I have stayed at bp house on several occasions over the last 10 years and this has probably been the worst stay of all. the breakfast which used to be free and good is now just a load of rubbish and not worth the extra expense. It also took 3 days for us to get a remote control for the tv unit. on a positive not the girls on the front desk were most helpful and polite.

Family with 3 adults and two youngs (15 and 11 years old). We stay in a nice and clean room with 8 beds (4 bunk beds), an small table, Tv and with an small bathroom (useful and clean but all in the minimum surface you can imagine) Ask for the Baden Powell House, not for the Meininger City Hotel (nobody knows this name). Good breakfasts and friendly staff

The best you can expect for this price in London. Not luxury but we were there only to sleep. We had a 4 beds bedroom (we were 3)large enough. Carpet not very clean. A very thiny bathroom (kind of plastic cupboard). Breakfast not included (3,50 GBP) in a very noisy place. I think I've become a little bit too old for this kind of accomodation (we are 48 :-). Not really the best after a day of shopping... I need a little bit more of luxury. But this is pezrfect for younger people and groups.

We are a familiy of five (kids 6,9,10) from Norway. We got a room with 8 beds so there were not much free space in the room. We found it clean and practical for our use. it was a BED room, and nothing else. Very close to intereseting museums and tube station (circle line). Just a walk away from Harrods. We took the sightseeing bus just around the corner. We would be pleased to come back.

There wasn`t any interaccion with staff. All of them were young and not very professional, just correct. The best thing is the location, oposite the Natural History Museum and close to tube station. Rooms are big enough, full with four berth and the bathroom is tiny and no hairdryer, you have to pay extra money if you ask for one. Breakfast is ok. I think it is good enough to be a hostel but a bit overpriced as hotel.

Very well situated. Toilette minimous, just like in a plane. It´s OK but not a HOTEL, it´s a hostel for teen´s and scouts, nothing like spanish´s

Liked the Hostel. The only thing that I was disappointed off was, that they did put me into a hotel across the street - without notice in advance. Had booked myself into the Hostel because a friend of mine was staying there with a group. Staid there the second night. But thought it was not too nice to not even ask me before not offering me a room at the Hostel. Cannot recommend the Hotel across the street!!

Young people and groups

It's a really nice hostel near Kensington Gardens in London and we (3 adults, 1 child)enjoyed our stay there. There is a bus stop next to the hostel and it takes you abot 15 minutes to get into the city by bus! There is also a underground station (South Kensington) near the hostel. The breakfast is also very good... We wil come back!

Vorrei segnalare la mia soddisfazione per la piacevole scoperta. Siamo stati benissimo, la stanza è stata confortevole e spaziosa, forse il bagno un po piccolino ma i miei tre bambini mia moglie ed io abbiamo trascorso un ottimo soggiorno. Lo consiglio a chi vuole trascorrere un soggiorno essenziale ma confortevole, ideale per chi ama dedicarsi alla scoperta della città. Dimenticavo l'ostello è situato in uno splendido quartiere centrale e tranquillo, ed non ha nulla da invidiare ad un albergo.

Hotel Ubication is very easy, because in a few minutes of Tube you can arrive in London City and all major attractions. Rooms are poor but cleaned the first day. During the day spent there (5 days) none clean the room, just the rubbish and none change the bathroom towels. Inside side rooms are quite, externe side room not quite because street traffic. Breakfast is English, not biscuits, cake and hot milk. But quality good.

Basic and functional but clean. Great value for the location.

Very family friendly hotel. Nice with all the Scouts. Breakfast room light and has a nice view. Breakfast buffet simple but good. Nice quiet area, close to underground/bus. Within walking distance to many attractions, such as Hyde Park, Harrods, museums etc. On the downside: Very small bathroom. Shower curtain too short (wet floor). No drinking water in the room, but OK since there was a water fountain in the corridor. TV remote was missing. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

Recommend the science museum and natural history museum.

It's Scout House so it's full of noisy kids, and adults feel a bit out of place and no alcohol allowed in rooms. (These kids possibly give this place its high rating!). The "ensuite" single room was just like a tiny student dorm with single bed and a cavernous disabled bathroom attached. TV pretty useless. Nonetheless good location (Gloucester Rd tube station - though watch for massive queues for tickets in the morning).

I booked a single room and was given hostel room - which makes the rating scheme usless.. because it was a hostel room 2 bunks 2 beds and shower toilet module and not a room with ensuite as they had run out. Other than that it was clean and a bed for the night, good breakfast canteen, good location.

Our stay was a nice surprise. Much better than we expected. We will for sure stay with you again.

Somos una familia de 5 personas (3 niños) y nos dieron una Ensuite room... La calidad del servicio fuè excelente, desde la bienvenida en la recepcion, siempre con gente joven y cordial, hasta la limpieza de la habitacion... Ah, y ni hablar del desayuno: "all you can eat" excelente para empezar una jornada turistica con las baterias bien cargadas.... Sencillamente un buen hotel comparado con tantas otras estructuras en Londres que por el mismo precio ofrecen mucho menos... Recomendado al 100%... Siamo una famiglia di 5 persone (3 bambini), quindi ci hanno dato una ensuite room... POsso dire che la qualità del albergo fu eccellente... Dalla accoglienza nella reception, sempre gestita da persone giovani e cortese, fino la pulizia delle camere... La colazione: Magistrale! con un "all you can eat", giusto per iniziare una giornata di turismo con le batterie belle cariche. Senza piu parole: un buonissimo albergo. Altre strutture a Londra allo stesso prezzo non offrono tanti servizi come questo albergo, senza lasciare fuori la qualità... Raccomandato al 100%

Great location!!! I wish the bathroom/shower could be bigger. Otherwise, it was a very good option.

Family with 2 older children (16 and 19) for 6 nights staying. Very nice hostel, well located, nearby the National and Science museum and the South Kensington underground station (10 mins walk). Our room was large and quite - only the bathroom is relatively small. The breakfast included in the price :-) was good. All in all, it is an excellent choise for people not looking for high rated hotel. I would certainly go again in case of a further visit to London.

The welcoming offered by the staff were nice. However, there was a little problem about the room arrangement on our first day. They sorted out quickly on the second day and they offered a reasonable reduction of price because of that. The rooms were clean, yet you need to make bed by yourself for the upper bed. The breakfast were great as well. A cozy and comfortable hsotel.
