it is central and relatively inexpensive, but the room was smelly and dirty. The toilet and kitchen area were mucky. I didn't want to touch anything. It was unbelievably noisy with doors banging all night and noise from the street. I would not stay here again

Asked for a quiet room since I was here for an exams; was given one tho it was on the 5th floor! Room was clean and basic, and toilets cleaned very frequently. Lounge and kitchen was good. Hostel was very near to city center, and safe despite its dodgy surroundings. Will stay here again if I visit again.

This hostel is really student dorm rooms that are let for the summer. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from Waverly train station. If you are coming from Waverly Bridge it is better to Google directions than follow the ones they give you. You can also walk it out on Google maps, which really helps a ton. Having done the virtual walk before, I was able to find the hostel with hardly a problem. The hostel doesn't have an elevator...reception is on the 2nd floor and my room on the 3rd...which was a bit of a struggle as I had some heavy luggage, but the people at reception (summer students I think?) were more than happy to help carry it. The beginning of the night was a bit noisy as there were some loud people walking outside, but later on it got quiet...until someone burned their toast at 3:30 am and the entire building had to be evacuated for 20 minutes. Notwithstanding all that, I would totally stay here again.

Very practical: located very closed to the Royal Mile. Practical with a kitchen, so you can make your breakfast, lunsj and/or diner if you want to

This is a dormitory for Univ Edinburgh, so the rooms are small, the bathroom is down the hall, and things are not perfectly quiet. But the location is great and price is good.

On one day in midnight, some German? guys were running corridor and knocking at all doors, so I was annoyed. But almost all service are pretty good with this price.
