The hotel is not so far away from the metro station, but people have to climb up a little bit along the road when going to the metro station. The reception personnel we met on the day arriving and leaving are very kind and helpful. We have been offered with a free city map and also they answered the questions that we had about the public transportation. The room itself is not big with only basic facilities, and the continental breakfast is also fine, although with not so many choices. But for the price we paid, it is quite OK I would say. The hotel has a garden which is beautiful. When we booked the hotel, I thought I was only able to connect to Wifi in public area, but it is actually also available in the rooms, which is for us a big plus! Things we do not like that much is the beds. Although we do not feel that uncomfortable as some of other guests wrote in their comments, but the beds are indeed not with mattress, and when you make a movement, the bed would make some sounds. Also the rooms are not so perfectly noise-protected, we could hear next door when people taking showers. But at night when we have to sleep, there were not so much that we heard, so in general still a quiet place to stay for a city trip. I am not against staying again there if I go to Barcelona next time.

== NOISY == But according to the hotel staff, our noisy experience was only "coincidental". We were given a room on floor 1. It was Barcelona summer heat, so people need to sleep with windows wide open. On the 1st night at 2am, the staff on night shift decided to chat loudly and smoke just under our window. They stopped after I complained. Same night, at 4am, two guests arriving at the hotel decided to chat few steps away from the hotel door. The staff on night shift were smoking by the hotel door and didn't warn the guests to keep it the quietest. I had to come downstairs to remind the guests that they were not caring about people sleeping. Finally, same night at 6am, two large groups of kids on excursion left the hotel slowly and shouting and chatting joyfully at each other. After this sleepless night, complaining got us a new room on floor 5. The 2nd night was tranquil. The 3rd night was ridiculous: it was full moon, and at 1am some 10 musician wolves decided to gather just outside the hotel perimeter and car entrance and in direct view of our new room to provide a Flamenco concert for free and in full scream for the entire neighbourhood. Unfortunately, the singer's quality didn't persuade us to stay the night awake listening to them, and we phoned the police. After we called the police, I heard one of the singers say "they called...", which hinted me that the police warned them. Two hours later the police hadn't come and the singers were already satisfied and appeased and left. The following day, the hotel staff told us they had also called the police, and several times. Were the police suffering salary cuts as most other spaniards too and hence were on a economical job mode? Up to you if you wanna risk coming to a hotel/area where staff and police don't follow civic/professional common-sense rules.

This hotel is a christian seminary, so the room was basic and small. It is probably good for car travelers or large groups, as Montbau has no grocery stores and is away from the heart of Barcelona. The first night there was a noisy concert nearby until late, and the second night, large groups were making noise walking around the hotel grounds. The grounds are nice and security camera at the gate. Not my style and I will never stay here again.

During 2 nights that I was there I could see that the rooms are good, and the location is very quiet. It is close to subway stations, which greatly facilitates the locomotion by the city.

Difficult to find directions from the hotel staff were meager. Going to the hotel with luggage was not too bad. But going back to the metro was a long hot difficult climb. Hotel staff were very helpful, breakfast was good and the gardens were beautiful
