Hostel Agua Alegre - Barcelona

-generally morbid look (not as shown on the photos) -beds of a low quality (we could feel every spring of the mattresses) - located at a noisy street and windows with zero sound isolation -parts of the walls are only wooden panels, so we could hear everything!! from the rooms next to ours - bathroom very small for 4 people -cleaning of the room every 2 days - the staff was friendly and helpful - located very central, but the price we paid for this were the noisiest nights we ever spent - recommended only for people who don´t need sleep

One of the best hostels than I ever visit! Definitely will back again!

The personal was kind, and the hostel was near the centre, but we hadn't a good time in this hostel. Our room was at the floor number 4 and the elevator was broken....the room was very noisy and very small, not very clean. We had decided for shared bathroom but we didn't think it was only one for twenty persons!!!!! And it always had a bad flavour.. because it hadn't windows. So we think we will never return there.

My first time at Agua Alegre. Very charming accommodations. The room had a private bathroom and small balcony from which to view the city life. The traffic was quite noisy, but part of the experience. The common patio was adorable and the staff was very friendly and personable. I would definitely recommend this hostal and would stay here again myself.

The location is perfect. It is close to La Rambla, the main street for tourists. Plenty of good eating places and pharmacies around. Zakaria at the front desk was extremely helpful throughout and we thank him for all his help. The only problem with our room was the proximity to the street which was extremely noisy throughout the night as we had to leave the doors to the balcony open due to the warm weather and no air-conditioning. My advice is to get a room at the back, away from the main road. SUGGESTION: Air-condition some of the rooms and you could charge a bit more for it and the guests will appreciate it. September is still HOT!! Barcelona is beautiful!!! Take the hop on hop off buses.

I had a double room with bathroom (85 EUR/day). Inconvenient beds (protruding springs), zero acousitc isolation between rooms (I was able to hear people louder breaths from next door room - now I now why there is no radio/tv sets in rooms;). Besides - very competent service and nice location.
