Great location. Wifi worked very well. Clean room with a nice hot bath. Excellent deal!

The hotel is very close to the centre and the tube. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommended!

Rooms were awefully small, crammy. No WiFi internet service. No food service. Breakfast was not that great.

Good location. Nice people when comparing the Catalunya way of living/treating foreign people. You do not speak "catalan", you are out! But this has not happened at the hotel (Centric). I asked for more towels and there I got them. I hade not known the room was top high, no lift, but it was our problem not theirs. It is a regular place to stay in. I would not return, but that is our personal opinion on the city, not particularly the hotel.

We can not say enough good things about our stay at Hostal centric! From start to finish of 3 nights we found the location and staff Fantastic! The staff went out of their way to help with anything we needed to know. Lovely area, close but far enough away from the main areas, great for walking and close to all the public transtport systems. Room's were spotless and never slept better.

Nice clean hostel, about 10 minutes of la ramblas and 3 minutes of the nearest metro station. Very helpful staff who speak excellent english! The only negative was the absence of elevator, fridge and breakfast! I would highly recommended!

Friendly, accommodating staff, however this is really a "youth hostal" offering just a few rooms with private bath facilities; cramped hallways, thin walls and doors; poor mattresses; tobacco-stinky; television system abysmal for a world-class city; essentially not comfortable, and way overpriced for the dinero.....

A perfect solution if you are looking for a cheap but clean and confortable hotel. Staff very kind and helpfull.

First of all, the high points I have given are according with the category of this establishment (hostal) and the price I paid €39.- in January 2011 for a double room. If you have to pay a doule of what I paid, you may not estimate this place as high. I had a room facing the backside, nothing nice to see but no noise either. Noise came from other rooms, young crowd so somewhat understandable. Still it was ok after midnight. Bathroom spaceous with a tub and lots of hot water. Considering €39 I paid for the night of 03 - 04Jan, I am quite happy with what I got. I am not sure the differences between hotels and hostals but Centric could easily be a 1-2* hotel. Probably this place is a "hostal" due to : no lift and no breakfast served. The hostal had 2 pc/internet. 1€ for 30 minutes (or 0.50€ for 30 min at a near by internet café - the hostal reception showed me). It also had a micro-wave for the guests' free use. The location is very central in the university area and 3 minutes walk to Plaça de Catalunya. The youngish man at the reception spoke excellent English. I saw a few places for budget meals/drinks in the area, looking like hangouts for students/younbg locals. The room had air-condition unit so can be a good alternative for a summer budget stay. The reception was open 24hrs.

location is very good, not far away from plaça catalunya, close to bus stop restaurants etc. receptionist didn't offer me free map until i asked the next day, he's not so helpful but he's polite anyway. all tv channels' in spanish in the room's tv therefore i didn't watch tv, though it's not a big problem.

Would be nice to have a bar fridge to keep things cold.

Rooms on the street rather noisy. Hotel well located, 6 min walk from La Rambla. Good place to sleep.

A very nice hostal, located in the centre. We spent a wonderful 5 days there. I recommend it to everyone.

We were in room 101 which was fantastic. Clean bathroom and a small balcony. The area is quite close to La Ramblas, but is far away enough not too be too noisy.

room is not so tidy. it takes 15mins to the station of airport bus. the respetion is so friendly and kind.

This hostal works as a perfect hotel. We stayed in a beatiful, clear and functional private room. The best stay in our trip. Very Good.

This is a very nice hostel. It is very clean and spacious. AC is provided which was great and such a relief!!! I would stay here again if I came back.

It's very good hostal

Hostal Centric is in the heart of the Eixample district which is close to everything. Within a couple blocks of the hotel are cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs. The metro stations are close by with convenient public transportation. You can walk to see most everything from this hotel. The staff are very helpful and they all understand and speak english well. Good bargain especially with the weak dollar.

Very small room . Good location

The room we stayed in was good, we even had a tiny balcony. The room was clean. The hostal doesn't have a lift and our room was on the fourth floor. We hardly managed to get our luggage to the room. Staff was friendly. At walking distance from Las Ramblas and Plaça Cataluña.

I stayed in a double room and for a couple days in Barcelona. It was centrally located where I needed to be. Wish there was wireless internet available included.

the room was quite noisy throughout the day and the night time - at the time i dont think there were many people staying there but the place was still clean and nice and the staff were nice to me and helped me out a lot. i dont think the price matches the place it could do with being a little cheaper, especially as the room wasnt very big at all and the place wasnt exactly centreally located, although it was off the gran via and 10 mins walk to the centre of the city. as for the surroundings, i know that this place is q very good place for young couples and gay people also as there are about 2/3 bars and a club in the area catering to the gay community...

Buono ma io ho avuto una superior al prezzo della economica e nn so perche', pero'la superior e' proprio bella.Ho visto le conomiche e sono almmeno 8 euro sopra rispetto alla concorrenza come prezzo non offrendo niente di meglio. l'hostello pero' non si presta a sviluppare comunicazione tra gli inquilini ma proprio zero inoltre alla reception su 4 persone che ho visto solo i 2 ragazzi maschi giovani erano capaci e competenti oltre che poliglotti.comunque nel totale mi son trovato bene

The Hostal did not have any lift and stairs were not very new and quite dangerous. Rooms did not have air conditioning and were extremely hot. Noisy people in other rooms. Excellent location, nice people at the reception but not very efficient.

I found the staff very helpful with any queries that I had. location was perfect, only 2 mins from the Metro abd 5 Mins from Ramblas. Overall a very pleasent stay.

The property is in an excellent location and very close to the metro station. The room and bathroom are very clean and new. There is internet service available in the public areas. I will highly recommend this place for the price, location, and the cleanliness of the room.

the room was just a little small but we managed ok. the heater was much too hot when turned on given that the weather outside was not extremely cold. The price was a little steep but overall, it was made up for by the excellent location - close to the estacio sants and just off a busy thoroughfare with lots of cheap eateries.

Nice place to stay. Near to the center (10 minutes by foot). Rooms are clean and quite. Price is pretty good. I recommend this Hostal.

We visitied Seville and Granada and paid the same prices for rooms there. This is a much inferior room. However, the location to La Rambla and other tourist attractions/areas was reasonably good--within a 10 minute walk through the smaller streets, 15 minutes on the main roads. The internet access was convenient and inexpensive.

good place to stay if you only need a room to sleep.., good surroundings - good location of the hostal, temperature in the room was rather warm (ventilator worked whole night). for this price a good stay.

This is the place to stay if you want a central location and just need a room for sleeping. It is very basic but I would come back again to stay for a short break.

Very basic, central and clean accomodation. Would recommend this to anyone, even families. Own air conditioning unit with controller in room which is a bonus.

A lovely place! We had a wonderful stay and would most definitely stay at Hostal Centric again. We had a twin room, with bath/shower. We had come from Paris and Rome, where I had booked the cheapest accomodation that I could find. In comparison, Hostal Centric was utterly luxurious! It's located very close to a number of subway stations - very central. A lovely stay.

The accomodation was perfect for what we needed it for. It was within walking distance to Las Ramblas. I would definately go back with my partner and two children.

I spent a week in a superior double room. The superior is only more spacious than standard but it doesn't deserve the difference of price. The furniture and the mattresses are very old. I suggest some ear corks if you want to sleep because the staircase (wood made) is very loud.

Well located in the heart of the city, this hostal represents good value. It is really just a clean room for the night with no real facilities beyond this. There are plenty of good value small cafe's locally for breakfast. If you want reasonable cost in the centre and plan to spend little time at the hostal other than to sleep then its a good choice

Das Hotel liegt schön zentral, jedoch in einer kleinen Nebenstraße. Somit ist alles, v.a. die Verkehrsmittel u. Sehenswürdigkeiten schnell erreichbar und gleichzeitig hat man doch ein wenig Ruhe vor dem Straßenlärm. Als Beispiel, wie nett das Personal in diesem Hotel ist: mir war beim check-in in meinem Gepäck eine Flasche zerbrochen, der Inhalt eben dieser war im gesamten Foyerbereich. Der Rezeptionist spurtete jedoch sofort los, spülte meine Reisetasche aus, wischte alles weg und hieß mich herzlichen willkommen. Nicht einmal ein böser Blick. Anderes Beispiel: unter anderem wollte ich water world besuchen (Nähe Lloret de mar) und hatte keine Idee wie ich dort hinkomme. Der Rezeptionist suchte die Nummer im Internet, rief dort an, ließ sich alles sagen und schrieb es mir auf. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel und wer ein einfaches, sauberes Zimmer sucht ist in diesem Hotel genau richtig!

The place is good considering the price paid.

I would come back! After my bag had been stolen in a bar, the employee helped me a lot with what I had to do: he found out telephone numbers, (VISA-Service etc.)

This is OK for a not too expensive place in a city where everyplace to stay (at least in season) is very expensive. But it's nothing to get excited about. We stayed there on two different occasions. The first room was better, had AC, and was in the back. The second had no AC, was in the front, and was incredibly noisy, since you pretty much had to leave the window open to get cool and the street is very busy all night. The staff was great, very helpful, and they had a cheap internet connection, and a secure place to store our luggage until our room was ready. It's conveniently located near two metro stations, and only a 15 min. walk from Las Ramblas. But don't expect too much otherwise. It's just a moderately clean place to sleep and shower.

We were very satisfied with our stay at the hostal. It was very close to the famous Ramblas and other important sights. In the neighbourhood were some really nice cafes to have breakfast.

Very nice. However, the last night was ruined by the guy snoring next door, its not very soundproof at all!

The room was not big, but clean, just as I had expected it. I don't a luxurious place to stay, but a clean place to rest, just like it was offered. So the hostal fulfilled my expectations totally. Altough I think that around 60 € for a room without bathroom is quite high, but I didn't find a cheaper one

My freind and I stayed in Hostal Centric over the grand prix weekend and it was very enjoyable. The Hostal was in a great location near to all the shops and restaurants. The Hostal was clean and tidy and much to my delight and suprise our rooms were cleaned daily and our beds were made! The staff were freindly and helpful and great value for money. I would reccommend the hostel to anyone who is visiting Barcelona and wants to stay in a central location on a budget!

We very much enjoyed Hostal Centric. My only problem was with the tiled step from the bathroom to the bedroom - I slipped because the tiles were wet and hurt my knee which mean't I couldn't go out walking the next day! However I should have been more careful. The style of the room was very Spanish and I wouldn't want to change it!

ACCOMODATION WAS CLEAN AND WELL LOCATED - EVERYTHING WE EXPECTED AND GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY

The room itself was great - new furnishings, plenty of room, always clean. Compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip, the bathroom was modern and spacious. One small warning - the stairs particularly near the upper floor are old and uneven and therefore, a little perilous when carrying luggage. My only real complaint is that the hotel is not at all central - be prepared to walk a long way to Las Ramblas or the waterfront.

A centrally located hotel within easy walking distance of the major sites. The stairs weren't half as bad as other reviews had led me to believe. The rooms were clean but small. The staff were helpful and friendly. All in all good value for money.

This was the cheapest centrally-located hotel I could find in Barcelona, and it proved a highly satisfactory choice. The rooms were of a much higher standard than I'd expected for the price and were kept very clean. The location was excellant, near a metro stop and lots of good eating places, and was only a short walk from the Ramblas. The 24 hour reception staff were very helpful. A minor quibble is that there was no lift and the staircase was a bit iffy. Otherwise I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Hostal Centric.

I've been taking part in the Barcelona Marathon and for this purpose, the Hostal Centric has been an excellent base, for sightseeing as well as for the marathon itself, the hotel is situated in the centrum not far away from the ramblas, the next metro station is only a few minutes away and for the marathon it has only been 15 minutes by feet to reach the starting area, the (single) room was very nice and clean and the hotel stuff was very friendly

Good value for money. In a fairly quiet area, which is exactly what we wanted, but in walking distance of the more lively sectors. Being on the first floor was a bit noisy from time to time with people on their way upstairs in the early hours. Despite this, we would still return. Thanks

An ideal base for exploring Barcelona on a budget.

Nicely located just behind the university and convenient for the city centre in a (relatively) quiet side street. Staff friendly and efficient but the "standard" room was a bit small, sparse and basic. Otherwise good value for money and a Hostal we would use again.

A very nice place to stay at low price. It is close to the city centre - but not too close, and I would definitely recommend this hostal to other travellers.

The hotel was ok, price/quality in balance, don't expect more than a bed to sleep in a clean room and a clean bathroom.

Very clean and comfortable. Excellent location for all the best sights in Barcelona but lots cheaper than other places in the same area. No catering but loads of cafes around for breakfast. If you're on a budget it can't be beaten.

For the cost, this place is an absolute gem. The room was clean, spacious, warm and welcoming, the staff helpful and it was within walking distance of the lively city. I will definitely be using the Hostal Centric again if I return to Barcelona.

When once again in Barcelone we shall choose the Hostal Centric once again. It is really worth the price. The showers are excellent. It's a good hostal for peaople who look for a bed in Barcelone at a reasonnable price.

Very clean, and exactly how it looked on the photo! Very friendly and helpful staff. Very secure - all locked up during the evenings, but always somebody to let you back in when you returned. 10 mins walk from La Rambla (although not the best streets to be strolling around late at night!) Really good time - and very good for the price.

A most enjoyable place to stay in a location handy for everything. I would stay again at the Centric if i go back to Barcelona. No complaints about anything

The new rooms are great, but small, and the old rooms are OK, but even smaller. But, it was wanderful, and I hope to go back.

2 stars? Yes, in the second floor. We slept in the 3rd floor... Absolutely lousy. Dirty, disgusting baths (if you have one in your room at all). Very noisy, we had to buy earplugs to get some sleep at night. The pictures on their website must have been taken somewhere else, we booked a standard accomodation and it didn't look like their description at all!! Although the people were nice - DONT GO THERE!!!!!!!!

La struttura è in stile "classico hostello" per giovani in viaggio di piacere come è stato per me. L'hotel è una vecchia palazzina ristrutturata di recente e le camere son di buon livello, pulite e le STANDARD dotate di condizionatore. Unico neo per raggiungerle manca l'ascensore e ci son scale ripide. Nel complesso ottimo qualità prezzo/servizio. Un appunto a chi vuole andarci la stazione del metro più vicina è sulla linea 2 ST. ANTONI e NON UNIVERSITAD sulla linea 3 come pubblicizzato navigando nel loro sito personale.

it was our first visit to Barcelona. the hotel was ideally placed for sight-seeing. staff were very helpful.i had requested A/Cand they put a fan in one of the standard rooms. staff were very helpful.spotlessly clean linen . old builing and stairs dingy but overall very good.internet in reception was great as was trunk room for storing luggage after checking out till our flight. lovely bar next door for breakfast and restaurant.Excellent for our purposes

Nice place, location a bit far from most attractions, but not far from subway which was very convenient.

Very good clean centrally located accomodation, very good value for the price. 24 Hour reception. Their English, was much better than my Spanish. Usefull tips in many languages in reception area. If I go back to Barcelona ( and I hope to) I would certainly use Hostal Centric again.

A well-managed property. Rooms are simple but clean. Centrally located. Just about 10-15 min walk to the Ramblas which means convenience and yet away from the big crowds. Most importantly, good price with good quality.

I really enjoyed my stay in Barcelona. The accomidations at Hostal Centric were decent. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. If noise from the streets bothers you, ask for a back room. It's also important to note that there is no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage, I hope you have been working out. Besides no elevator, the hostel is great for the price you are paying. I reccomend it.

Well worth the visit, accurately priced affordable accomodation maintained to a high standard for its type. Good location, but a more accurate map and detailed directions would be of use as it did take a bit of lucky guesswork to find it! Thanks for a very pleasant stay and I would definitely return.
