Great stay, really close to everything that is fun. Hotel is kind of crap, but the most importan thing for me is free wifi and location. Heart of amsterdam scores high on both. The standard is low, but they dont promise anything else! I would either go here or to a more expensive 4/5 star hotel next time.

Very well located ( you can reach every part of amsterdam in 10-15 minutes by walking ), but rooms are small; outside there is some noise. i recommend it to young people.

I wish to make reservations for next years Cannabis Cup. I will be in Ams on the 20th of Nov thru the 27th. I will need room no. 1. downstairs. Where I stayed 2 nights. Was great. All the staff was wonderful. I will stay a week this time.

This hotel is ideal for young couples and backpackers. We went as a family with three boys, but the closeness of the red-light district 'facilities', the hemp-smell and the partying in the street made them feel uncomfortable. Next time we will pick a more family-friendly hotel. The rooms all in black is a fun idea, but highly impractical and depressing to stay in. The bathroom in black with insufficient lighting is uncomfortable. But the staff was nice, the service was fine and the price and location very good.

The hostel offers 24 comfortable beds divided over single 2, 4, 6 and 8-bedded rooms and some large dormitories.The decoration is inspired in Hollywood: each room is named after a famous movie, and decorated with appealing colours and pictures from films as The Godfather, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or American Beauty.
Rooms are equipped with shower, toilet, TV, private safe, and individual reading lamps.

How to reach Heart of Amsterdam Hostel
By carFrom The Hague follow the ring west and take exit S106 Osdorp centrum. Driving in the direction of centrum you will come to a square, the Surinameplein. Go straight and then take the left lane to turn left after the bridge. Continue on this road, the Overtoom, to the end and turn right to the Stadhouderskade. Drive along the Rijksmuseum and turn left at the second traffic lights (just before the Heineken brewery). Continue straight at the roundabout, reaching Vijzelgracht, further on called Vijzelstraat. At the Munt Tower continue straight ahead along the Rokin. After passing Dam square, take the second on your right and then the first left and immediately right again. Now you are on the Oude Zijds voorburgwal.
From Utrecht, follow the ring oost and take exit S112 Duivendrecht. Turning left in the direction of centrum, you will reach a set of traffic lights at the roundabout near Amstel Station. Turn right (S1 12) to the four-lane road Wibautstraat, further on called Weesperstraat. Where the road divides into separate lanes, take the right and turn three-quarters left at the roundabout, Mr. Visserplein, following the sign centrum. Pass the Stopera building and turn right after the bridge, along the river Amstel. Take a right and continue straight ahead along the Rokin. Then follow the aforementioned indications.
From Amersfoort, follow the ring west and take exit 5172 Duivendrecht. From this point follow the aforementioned directions from Utrecht.
By train
The central station is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Walk straight ahead towards Dam square, then turn left and take the second canal before the bridge on your left.
By airplane
From Schiphol Airport follow the directions as given from The Hague.
Alternatively, take local train to Amsterdam Central Station and follow the aforementioned indications on foot.
