Hostel Monet - Seville

Disappointed with the aloof and cold female staff. Utterly devoid of any emotional expression and offering of normal general hospitable sentiment. A smile was indeed an apparently alien concept. My television did not work either and when the woman on reception came up to the room she did try and fix it but to no avail. The thing is no apology was ever offered, just a shrug and a shake of the head. I would have thought at least some sort of apology would be fitting. No refund of course was ever mentioned. The first room I stayed in had an putrid smell coming from the bathroom. After moving to another room on the top floor, the smell was better but still there a bit. This room had the morning alarm clock at about 6am of birds entering and exiting and fluttering around in the roofspace above the ceiling. Right next door was a building site that was very noisy. Truly a wonderful city to visit but the hostal for the price I paid was very bad. The men on reception were reasonable and uttered words even before spoken to but the women I found just plain mean, expressionless and detached with a very unprofessional demeanour. The city obviously thrives on an abundance of tourists the year round but I fail to see why that should be a good reason not to offer good hospitality.

Quite a budget hotel could offer lower prices. Small rooms. Good design, but strange smell in the bathroom. TV remote control for deposite is quite embarrassing distrust towards your guests. Good location. Seville is great!

The was OK but it wasn't tidy the second day. We stayed 3 days. The bathroom smelled a lot the second and at the beginning of the third days.

Es un hotel muy bien ubicado, en pleno centro de Sevilla. En general, estaba bastante bien. Tuvimos la mala suerte de que nos tocara una chica de recepción que dejaba mucho que desear, muy agradable pero poco competente. A la hora de pagar casi no pudimos pues la máquina para pagar con tarjetas no funcionaba, tuvo que realizar varias llamadas para poder solucionar el problema y hasta que no vino un hombre (dedujimos que era el dueño) no se soluciono y pudimos pagar sin problemas.Gracias a dios, porque la chica no hacia mas que pasar la tarjeta sin parar. Con todo esto nos tuvo 1 hora esperando. Por fin nos dieron la habitacion. Al subir nos encontramos con que, a nuestra mala suerte, nos toca la habitacion que está justo al lado de las escaleras (en dónde se oye a todo el mundo que sale y entra de sus habitaciones); al abrir la puerta vemos que la habitación tenía todo el suelo lleno de migas y polvo, parecía que no lo hubieran limpiado y ni hablar de la mierda que había debajo de las camas; a ello sumarle que en la habitación faltaba tanto el mando de la tv como el del aire acondicionado y que el baño casi se inundaba cada vez que te bañabas de lo que se sálía el agua de la bañera. Solo estuvimos una noche y la verdad es que nos salio super barato y en sí estas faltas no estropearon nuestra estancia. Estaria bien que el hotel contratara a alguien verdaderamente competente y que sepa hacer su trabajo como es debido, porque no fuimos los únicos que tuvimos que aguantar a una recepcionista sin ningún tipo de idea de como hacer su trabajo.

Great location, clean, functional, updated decor, great shower! We got one of the smaller rooms however and fitting two adults with two pieces of luggage was a bit of a struggle. This was offset though by the price and the location. Comfortable beds too! Front desk helped us with train schedules and were generally friendly. I would stay here again.

We stayed during Fiera, so prices were high everywhere and it was very difficult to find real quiet. We were so busy out enjoying the city that we didn't see the 'public areas'. Hotel was a nightmare to find - get a taxi! Staff were lovely and we would very happily recommend it and go back.

La localización es fantástica,justo en el centro. El hostal está muy bien en relación calidad-precio.. La habitación era amplia y limpia, con televisión pero sin mando a distancia. El baño muy limpio y con secador de pelo. Sin duda volvería otra vez.

This hotel is a good choice only if you get a room with terrace.

Very good service and welcome. Room very clean and quiet. Price a little bit high. But to be recommanded.

A good, basic, excellent value hotel in a fantastic location.

This hotel definitely caters to budget travelers. Don't expect much. It's a clean bed and a hot shower. Though our room did have a strong moldy smell. No internet. Big problem for us. That alone would be a reason not to stay here again. Install some wi-fi.

Nice hotel, well located in the center of Seville. I firmly recommend it for mid-budgets.
