Hostal Zurbarán - Seville

+ good location + "Spaciousness of rooms" - no 24x7 support in English - careless receptionist - water on the floor in the bath room

Good stuff: Location, excellent shower, clean, friendly staff, Price, 24 hour access, Air con. Bad Stuff: Twin bed but requested a double Décor was rough but adequate No lift (were on 3rd floor)

Zurburan is tiny; 11 rooms spread over four floors,with no elevator! But the little lobby is charming,the desk clerks are sweet, and the location is as good as it gets, by the cathedral, the Alcazar and the lively, medieval Santa Cruz barrio. We arrived unexpectedly at 6am, six hours before check-in time, and very hungry. The place was locked and dark. Things didn't look promising! Then a kindly old man (a night clerk or an angel?) woke up, let us in, shared his lunch with us and found us a room within minutes. We will tell this story for a long time.

La pensione si trova in una posizione veramente eccellente. Il nostro soggiorno li' è diviso in due parti; la prima notte, al pian terreno, è stato un incubo. Le stanze di pian terreno non sono adatte. Non sono proprio a norma, ed indecenti. Sono piene di umidità, buie, e si sentono tutti i rumori, sembra di dormire per strada. Poi per le altre notti siamo stati fortunati a trovare un'altra stanza del 2' piano libera e cosi abbiamo cambiato camera. La ragazza della reception è stata molto gentile ad aiutarci in questo. Le stanze dei piani di sopra sono alla norma, ed anche abbastanza confortevoli. Esclusa la prima notte, il nostro soggiorno qui è stato anche piacevole. Se mi è permesso avrei due consigli da dare ai gestori di questa pensione: 1) Di non affittare più le due stanze del piano terra, questo sarebbe molto disagevole sia per i turisti che per l'immagine della vostra pensione. 2)Di cambiare la biancheria della pensione. Quella attuale è molto deludente. Vi prego di informarvi prima della prenotazione sulla segnalazione della camera, chiedendo sempre una delle stanze dei piani superiori, ovviamente. Spero di esser stata d'aiuto ad altre persone interessate a questa pensione. The location of Pension Zurbaran is really great. Very central, close to the Cathedral. Our stay in this pension is divided in two parts: the first night has been a true incubus, the worst night I ever passed in a hotel, or Pension. We stayed at the rooms of the ground flat. Those 2 rooms of ground flat are not decent. Is not possible to stay there. They are sooo dark, soooo noisy( it seems that you are sleeping outside and not in a building), and full of humidity. The other 2nights we changed room, and we stayed at the 2' flat. This one it was a really good room, clean, dry(not full with humidity like the other one)and more silent of course. Muy bien para una pareja de jovenes que quieren visitar Sevilla. Muy centrico, limpio y con un precio muy abordable.

The only good thing is the location of this hotel. The hotel is so poor that we had to abandon it for the second night. The rooms do not have external windows, only small windows to the interior hall. The bathrooms have water leaks from the upper facilities and the corresponded humidity. They have charged for the first night something like 70 Eur, the same price we get by phone reserve in Sevilla in hotel with ****.

No heating available! We were freezing in there because they only have a/c up on very high ceilings. Beds aren't double, it's just 2 twin beds.
