The Archeological Museum of Madrid is located beside Plaza de Colon or Columbus Square, and shares its building with the National Library of Spain. The building was founded in 1867 and underwent a major refurbishment in late 2009. It now boasts of numerous interactive installations which are of huge benefit to visitors with little or no Spanish. The neoclassical building of the Museo Arquelogico houses many fascinating collections from Spanish history, tracing back to the Pre-historic period right through to Medieval Christian times. A visit to the museum is a must-see for any History or culture buff who finds themselves with time on their hands during their Spanish vacation.

Right next door to the Museo Arquelogico is the National Library of Spain. The library is responsible for identifying, preserving and conserving all information about Spain's heritage and is the central reference point for research into Spanish culture. Since 1991 the National Library has become the legal deposit for all the books printed in Spain. Although the library will appeal mainly to Spanish speakers, it is a interesting experience for book lovers to come and view all the cataloged volumes on display.

Hostel is relativly far from the downtown. We booked rom there because it was writen that it has a private parking. But on the reception they told us that we must pay this parking 20 euros per day! We wanted to cancel seccond day of our stay, but they didnt accept it. Anyhow, not good valye for the money, listed facilities and their prices must not confuse guests.
