The location is excellent, very close to puerta del sol and prado, but in a quiet street. but the walls in the hostel are very very thin, you can hear every word spoken in next room. my bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen, almost couldnt stand there. but everything there and very clean. the room was very dark, you couldnt see what the weather was like - the window was to the backside, to the patio. the WLAN-password given to me didnt work. all in all a good choice if you dont need high standard, just a bed in a good central location

People at the reception are very nice.I don't know how are the other rooms but my room was not small but tiny (microscopic) I felt squeezed between the 2 walls, it was over heated and it was impossible to decrease the heat, I had to sleep opened window and to remove the blanket (in december).

The hostel is clean, nice and quiet, the staff is nice also. But beware: the room (double) is VERY small, and the bathroom is super small!!! You have practically less than 1 m2 of free space there! So, if you're bit bigger or taller - don't recommend at all. Another point: the street of the hostel is not nice and lively, hostel is facing back wall of some administrative building, and the window of our tiny room was facing a tiny internal yard. Overall impression: nice, but very small rooms and location is quiet, but not very nice. And you have to PAY for the safebox every time you open it!

Excellent value as it is pretty cheap and in a great location. If you get an internal room it will be very dark. We couldn't tell it was morning in ours. Also, there was a lot of noise in the corridor all night; doors opening and closing, people talking, - not very peaceful.

A good place if you want to see the city without any problems. They leave you the key of the room and you can enter and leave when you want. The rooms are really little, excellent if you search something where you have only to sleep. The position in Madrid is great!!

Quite clean, with pleasant staff. However significant noise in evening and early morning prevented a good night's sleep. Also, the shower head was cracked and would spray water over all walls of the bathroom, getting anything in the room wet.

We might be a bit biased because there was construction going on in the open-air middle of the building (courtyard?), which is where our window faced. i think we were on the 2nd or third floor and it was all scaffolding from the ground up to the roof, and there was a lot of noise and plaster bits crashing down outside the window and along the wooden shades, making a jet-lagged afternoon nap difficult. I wonder if we could have bargained for a cheaper rate because of this, but it was our first two nights in overseas and i didn't feel to confident to talk... Other than that the room was fine, if a little small.

I will find a very helpful staff, the position is excellent, I suggest to everybody to go there. La posizione è eccellente il posto ottimo, l'albergo è nuovissimo pulito e curato, c'è tutto per essere considerato un tre stelle italiano. Lo staff cordiale e gentile se siete persone alla mano è il posto perfetto.

I felt pleased to be in Oporto hostel...Its really a nice place to stay for short as well long trip. Rates are quite reasonable and facilities are excellent. I had different perception for hostels accommodation and was bit scared when i booked Oporto...because i read lot of dodgy comments on internet regarding hotels in madrid....But i must say Oporto is not that kind of place....it is really a good hostel with hotel facilities. Many wishes to Oporto Cheers Apoorv

No frills but location is great for seeing the museums, close to the Prado and Thyssen. Staff speak English and are friendly. Close to a police station. Smallest bathroom I've ever seen. Not too noisy considering central location.

Not a luxury place but great for traveling people who want to visit and not spend all their money in the hotel

Quite loud as we had rooms to the street and the garbage was picked up everyday from below our window. Also walls are thin and our rooms were directly near the entrance. However ear plugs solved the problem! Very friendly staff. If you are looking for a central no-frills accomodation and are spending most of your time in the city then I can recommend it.
