The hosts were very kind. I lost my laptop on my trip to the place; the owners tried their best to help me. The hostel was in a very convenient location. Minutes to the museums. The room was a bit small, but for the price, it was comfortable.

The single room is located near the bathroom so you sometimes get wakened up very early in the morning because someone was taking a shower. Other than that, the place is spotless and the couple who runs the place is helpful.

Hostal is in an excellent location. The Thyseen is literally down the street, and in general the historic/museum district of Madrid is pretty small. So pretty much everything is within walking distance. The only downside of the place is that the older lady that works there doesn't speak English (very common in Madrid). It took us about 30 minutes the night before we left to figure out where to leave our keys when leaving early the next morning. The younger man that also works there spoke English, but we didn't see him other than when we checked in.

Mirentxu is perfect for someone needing a place to stay while they get out and about in Madrid. The rooms are clean, tidy and basic, no fuss is made and you can come and go as you like. I got to the right street fine, but had some difficulty finding it as it shares the building with a few hostels and is on the third floor so its sign is less prominent.

Very nice two star hotel. We had shower and sink in the bedroom and the toilets were located near the room in the hall. We never had to wait to use one. Only complaint was that our room was right across from the breakfast room and it was noisy when people started coming in for breakfast.

The only problem was, that there was no air-conditioning in the room and we had about 40°C in Madrid!

for such a low budget, and you get the big room with bathroom though you need to share the washroom with others but you know they are so clean. owner and their family members are very kind and polite, and they make everything very clean. also when you ask for beers, the answer is no which means this is really a nice and safe hostel esp. for girls who travel alone

I stayed in a private double. We had our own shower. It was great. No public kitchen, but we used it accidentally, and they were not too mad. So don't make the same mistake. Provided blow dryer and clean towels every day! Only had a dining room as public area during breakfast, but looked very nice. Our room was one of the few that was near the kitchen, and therefore noisy in the morning. Seemed like all other rooms are very quiet. ATMs and lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. All big museums are completely walkable distance, as well as shopping and great restaurants.

Excellent centrally located, within walking distance of all major attractions. A bargain at £24 a night and did the job. Would recommend this to other travellers just remember for the price a clean room and a bed what more do you want, everything just a couple of minutes walk away.

It was difficult to communicate with the staff as they don't speak English and that was the only problem. But the room was very good and the stay very pleasant.

Hotel Mirentxu is in an excellent location within easy walking distance from subway access and principal sights in Madrid. I had a single room, which was not air-conditioned nor did it have a fan, and I was there in mid-summer. My nights in the hotel were not pleasant because of the heat (I had to drape a wet towel over myself!). The room was very small and this is not a hotel in which to spend any time during the day except for sleeping (other rooms might have been better). However, for a budget traveller and for non-summer travelling, I would still highly recommend this hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke a reasonable, minimum level of english, and the hotel was conveniently located and inexpensive.

BUEN PRECIO YA QUE SE ENCUENTRA EL HOSTAL A 3 CUADRAS DE LA FUENTE DE CIBELES Y CERCA DE LA PUERTA DE ALCALA,.. EL DESAYUNO ES BUENO POR 3 EUROS,. VALE LA PENA,..! LOS CUARTOS SON ALGO ANTIGUOS,.Y EL BAÑO COMPARTIDO PERO EL PRECIO POR ESTAR EN EL CENTRO DE MADRID LO VALE,..!!

We payed 45EUR for a double bed room per night at Hostal Mirentxu, so we're not expecting much. It turned out to be a perfect place to stay in Madrid during a weekend trip! Perfectly located - close to Sevilla subway station, between Puerta del Sol and Prado Museum. Our room was nicely furnished and our bathroom was clean. Instead of a double room we got a double+single bed but it was allright. We had a balcony facing a small one-way street. Staff was very friendly and they let us leave our luggage until 10pm the last day. The "mean old lady" who I read about before at Tripadvisor, turned out to be a nice person, but to communicate in English she called a younger woman. No cons, just pros!!

Reception and public area smelled of smoke. Room was spartan but did not smell. Maid went out of her way to provide extension cord to correct loose wall connection. Location behind Congress of Deputies and around corner from Pl. de Sevilla and Theatro Zarzuela was excellent, steps from P. del Sol.

This place has very bad quality. My window was broken, and did not even shut. Water pipes made horrible noises all night. Room was not heated and I was cold. Shared bathroom was not very clean. Breakfast was toast and hot drink for 3€. Spend more, you deserve better.

The room was quite small but it was just for one night so it wasn't a problem. Clean and I thought that the fittings were fairly new. Unless 5 star accommodation is your usual criteria, I'd recommend the hostal for a brief stay in Madrid

Basic but clean hostel in an excellent location (5 mins to walk to all major sites and night life), owners speak little if any english but it didn't really pose a problem. We didn't have a tv in our room as stated on the hotel's page andf although the hostel had a communal tv room it wasn't used and we didn't get to meet any other travllers. Bathroom was always clean but just very small, this hostel is perfect if you're not planning to be in it much and just need a comfy clean place to rest your head!

The location of this hostal is wonderful, if you can find it at the first place; the instruction given on the website is too general and it took me over an hour to find this place. The surroundings of the hostal is rather quiet, but it's very close to SOL, which is the advantage. The room is basic but clean, staff are very friendly, but don't speak much English though. In conclusion, good place to stay if you are just looking for a quiet, basic bedroom in Madrid.
