We stayed 8 nights but our room was bare and lacked seating for 2. Upon looking at other rooms I was disapointed with ours because the other rooms were decorated and had seating for 2. We had an outside room so the street noise woke us up quite often. We were happy with the location. It is located in the heart of Madrid just a short walk from Plaza del Sol and attractions are easily accessable with a short stroll or quick Metro ride. We used the train and Metro quite often because it was conviently located at Sol. An internet cafe and laundry were just a 2 minute walk away and for the crafter, it is close to awesome fabric and linen shops. Check out Borca. We love Madrid. We recommend this hotel but don't take room 451...or any outside room if you are easily disturbed. Madrid never sleeps.

The hostels on that area are quite old, but this one is actually really nice. The room forniture appropriate. At the reception they were really friendly. And they do have free wireless acces in the common areas. We had no problems and enjoyed our visit.

Perfetto! centralissimo e prezzo onesto.

It's really charming place. I worried about the safety problem. But it's OK. Near hotel, there are several nice bars and restaurants. But it's very quiet. Moreover location and price are excellent.I enjoyed it very much.

This hostal was perfect! Center-located, very clean, the room was spacious and price really convenient. The only problem was that we had very noisy neighbours and one night I couldn't sleep at all, walls are veeeery thin! But the following night we asked them to stop the noise and it was better. I had problems with the wi-fi connection from my mobile device but everything else was perfect. The shower was so relaxing! I absolutely recommend this hostal to everyone coming to Madrid!

We stayed here twice, first time were given a smallish quiet room at the back (photo of room on their card)Is is very central, in the heart of the tapas area. On the second stay on the way home we had a normal sized room divided in half with a very thin wall and could hear everything going on next door. We faced the street and it was horribly noisy all night, every night. The window wouldn't close properly, nor the shutters and the shower didn't work properly. Left the hotel tired and ratty and the end of a lovely holiday.

Good location, warm staff by Spanish standards. For an economy lodging I would stay here again. Downside was being directed to use the 1-900 'easy calling' number provided by the payphone as it was posted here and at other Spanish hotels. A 12 minute call to Canada cost $90., ..more than one night's accomodation her. I suspect there is a kick-back to the hotel owner. Venere might consider posting an alert to customers regarding this practice.

Really important to ask for room in back, away from street. The place is rockin until all hours and the rush hour traffic starts up the noise again early. We slept fine in the front, however, with earplugs. Andres at the front desk, in particular, was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and he spoke English. Side street Calle Victoria had a wonderful selection of old-time tascas, two or three handy locutorios were nearby on Cruz and San Jeronimo (the best one, first (i.e. second) floor, .08 E/minute to the states, .50 E/15 minutes internet, on Jeronimo btwn Victoria and Pl. Canalejas, which is at end of C. Cruz).

Lovely, friendly hotel. Room was excellent; even with four adults in single beds it did nt feel cramped. Full of character especially the internal stairs - not sure I'd want to do that with young children though. And location ... spot on for everything, we could walk everywhere and really take in the city. Fantastic

Near great shopping, a lot of bars and restaurant and practicaly one of the best locations in town. If I ever come to Madrid again, this area and hotel would be my prefered choice for budget accomondation. A lot of plus , only one minus that it can be noisy from the bars nearby on the weekend, but even that was a small minus for me and my girlfriend who wasn't out partying.

Carino, pulito, ottima zona.

Hostal Marlasca is located in absolute downtown of Madrid. The interior is very cozy and the rooms are clean. We were very satisfied with our stay at the hostal, however, I do not recommend it to guests arriving by car. The hostal has no parking and the carparks around are VERY expensive. Madrid is beautiful!

The Hostel is in a perfect location, next to Sol, so right in the centre within walking distance from Plaza Mayor and other central attractions. The air conditioning was very useful as we had quite a warm weather in Madrid. The TV set was really small and old, only with Spanish channels, but enough for us. We would recommend it for people who don't expect a high luxury for this money and for the location. We'd stay there again without any doubt.

this hotstal is very good because he is in the center of Madrid (just 200m on the Metro Sol). It ' in the "tapas'street". Hostal with clim is very important in Madrid! It's not for people with little children, because the rooms are in the 4. floor and Rooms are badly isolated, we hear what takes place in corridors. But 48 eur. for a night in center of madrid...very good relationship between price and quality

The room was centrally located but faced the street and was loud! The character of the room had potential but the furniture looked like it was picked up odds and ends. We couldn't get a spare towel as the cleaning service holds onto them. Toilet ran all night. If I were out of college and backpacking thru Europe I wouldn't these things. However, I stayed in rooms about the same rate with a much better experience. It was OK but I would not recommend unless on a budget and you don't mind noise. Oh yes, the lobby area and the workers were so loud - very rude for the guests.

The biggest problem is that, at first, we were given a room which is actually in the lobby. On the other side, the street, we is terrible at night, full of drunk people shouting. Therefore, the first night we didn't sleep at all. We ask for to change room for the second night and they gave us another one, upstairs (the stair seems to be falling at any time). The room was smaller, but at least we could not hear the noise of the lobby, we were not so lucky regarding the noise from the street. At all, rooms are ok, but don't plan on sleeping.

Buon viaggio.

I stayed at Marlasca for the last way of November so I am not sure if they have A/C. The location is very central if you like that. Management is very friendly as it is a family business. My only problem was that I did prefer not to use the blankets as they don't seem to be washed between guests... but the sheets are quite clean and since the heater kept the room warm I did not need them. The room floor could use better sweeping, but let's remember this is a budget hotel... I recommend it.

We found the rooms to be noisy at night when the reception phone rang or guests would come and go. We could easily hear their conversations because the walls seemed to be very thin. However, we still had a pleasant stay. The hotel was very close to a "Museum of Ham" bar, which we loved because of their cheap and yummy food!

This was a fantastic hostel, with really nice staff. It was right in the heart of sol, with a lovely bar opposite. If you look for Calle Victoria (or something similar, just of the puerto del sol, the calle cruz comes off that.

I found the staff friendly but I thought it was a shame that although I paid only a few Euros less I was in a very small single room compared to the double rooms. As I was at the front of the hostal it was really noisy all night but I couldn't blame the hostal for that, the area is just really busy with all the bars and construction work nearby. It is convenient to get to the museums etc from the hostal.

Our stay there was wonderful. It is very well located. The staff is friendly and helpful. it was a little loud, but that is the price you pay to be in the heart of everything. We walked everywhere saving lots of money on tranportation. Next time I would not allow myself to be placed in room 105. it is in the lobby, therefore very loud. Not suitable for light sleepers like me, but my husband had no problem sleeping. Great place! I would definitely stay again.

The only problem with this hostal was the noise of the reception and the guests. We asked for rooms on the interior, so the street noise wouldn't bother us. But it turned out the noise from the reception (telephone calls, people entering, doorbell all night long) was worse than street noise. I had a very hard time sleeping at all, and I'm an easy sleeper (and easy traveller). If you stay at Marlasca, ask for a room on the 3rd floor since the reception is on the second! The location and cleanliness are very good, the room was small but cosy, and the staff was friendly.

We found the hotel to be good value and was situated in an excellent position for tourists. The only draw back was noise from the traffic early in the morning but that was to be expected in such a central location.

The Hotel Marlasca is in a great location with an internet cafe two doors, down not to mention its'cross street, Calle Victoria is filled with fun bars, restaurants and clubs for travelers of all ages. The only real downside was the noise level.

When I checked out very early in the morning, the front desk looked very unpleasant. The location or the room itself were very good for the price.

Though the room was small, it was clean and well serviced and its extremely convenient central location makes the Marlasca very good valkue for money.

Everything was as promised. Persons in reseption were pleasant and service even in english was good. Location is excellent. Rooms were not as tidy as we have used in Finland, but all reasonable. If I ever come back to Madrid I know where to stay.

The Hostal itself is very good and located right in the center of the city. The only problem is that the street is indeed very loud even at night.

Very friendly staff, very quiet room. You can't beat the central location, just a few minutes from the subway. I recommend it highly and would choose it again any time.

We got a room without a window to the outside. This was not so bad, but because of that, noise level in the hotel was, especially at night, far too high and unacceptable. The service was not good enough, because we asked for another room and we didn't get it. Although every day people left and it should have been possible to give us another room.

The only problem I found in this hotel is that there are lots of bars and restaurants near there and there is too much noise. If you want to have fun that is the best place because is near everything but if you want to rest you better close the window! By the way, the hotel is just beautiful!

The Marlasca is a very nice budget pension type hotel in the heart of Madrid. There was plenty of room, including in the bath, which are sometimes cramped in places like this. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room could have used a coat of paint but that's not really a complaint. Just aesthetics. The room was really very clean. Bottom line, I'd stay there again or recommend it to friends.

This Hostal is in the centre of the city. The price is also excellent. Because of the location, You don't need to use public transportation. The rooms to the "Patio" are very quite.
