Antigua Posada del Pez - Madrid

I had a really nice stay in Antigua Posada del Pez. Rooms were clean, bathroom was clean and modern, and beds comfortable. The location is perfect, only a few blocks from Gran Vía, and a walking distance from a few museams (Del Prado, Thyssen, etc). On the cons, breakfast was poor, rooms are too small, and the reception is closed from 21:00 to 8:00 (if you had a problem you wouldn't have someone to solve it at night) I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place only to sleep at night, and well located. In general there is a good quality/price relationship.

The hotel is in the center of madrid, near la Gran Via, calle Arenal and not far from plaza Mayor. Rooms not spacious but very clean. small street very noisy. breakfast adequate. Recommended for weekends and trips when the room is used only to shower and sleep. Very good.

Good location near "gran via" - a few minutes from Puerta del Sol and Plaza mayor - clean rooms breakfast not very rich, but acceptable the garage is just next door: it was ok, but the only garage in our trip in Spain that quoted the same price for our moto than for a car (in other hotels the moto paid less)

2-3 minutes walk from the closest metro station. Decent room/bathroom. Friendly staff. Hip-looking hotel. Good price-quality ratio.

I booked a single room, but I had a double one ( without any price change). The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom also was clean. The wifi connection was very good. I did not take the breakfast at the hotel so I can't comment on it. The room was not opening on the road, so no view from the window, but this was not a problem for me, in the other hand the place was very quiet and without any problem. I recommand this hotel that is very close to the Gran via and plaza del Sol, the center of Madrid.

Room and breaksfast are good and simple. Room in front of the hotel is noisy but the hotel is good situate to visit Madrid.

I had stayed the first couple nights in Madrid at Antigua Posada del Pez and then left for a few days for Barcelona but planned to return to stay in the hostel for the rest of my stay. From the very start the service was excellent and I felt very comfortable in the clean and modern rooms. The place definitely had a great atmosphere with friendly and professional staff. On my last day I had experienced an unfortunate event on my way to the airport and discovered my passport was stolen and my vacation had to be extended. When I arrived again at Antigua Posada del Pez they assisted me greatly in accommodating me last minute and helping me get in touch with my embassy. I am extrememly greatful for the help I received from the staff there, it made my stay in Madrid a positive one despite the unfortunate incident I had encountered. Everything I experienced in this hostal had exceeded my expectations. I am so glad that I had found this hostal to stay in and would highly recommend this place to anyone choosing to visit Madrid. Its clean, affordable, modern, friendly and professional staff and great location...what more can you ask for:-)
