Hostal Nuevas Naciones - Granada

Nuevas Naciones was a great stay in Granada. We had an easy walk (10mins) from the train station. I had used the Venere map and my guidebook to get us in the ballpark. A newsstand guy directed us to the exact street. You can access Gran Via Colon in one turn and from Colon you can head to Plaza Nueva, the Alhambra area and Elvira Street, a great row of bars with real people and real tapas. Plaza Nueva is 15 minutes tops, if you are taking in the city and within moments of NN great streets full of bars, shopping and food make themselves available. We were so close to the "main" sights like the Cathedral that we didn't think twice of returning to the room for a jacket or siesta. (Granted, this was day 8 and we had become used to walking more than usual.) We stayed in a triple that had an interior view, a small bedroom with a bunk bed and single. Not much more room than that but we reclined comfortably in our beds, watched some tube and charged up for the city. I'm a traveler who enjoys a big room but knows well enough I shouldn't be sitting in it too long. The bathroom was divided into a shower room and a toilet room, which had the sink. No prob and plenty of room. The German couple who own NN went far beyond helpful, did our laundry within two hours for 5 Euro, and even loaned us an alarm clock for an early cab to the airport. They were insightful, honest about the rest of our trip in Spain and their advice rang true when we investigated their tips regarding Costa Brava. A nice doggy lives with them and to our pet-deprived eyes he was a warm and friendly addition to the homey feel of the place. Support Nuevas Naciones...I'd go back, easy.

Stayed with a friend for cycling holiday in Granada. Rooms on the small side but kept very clean with quiet air con and tv. Location is great near to train station and town centre with loads of cafes, bars and restaurants. Real selling point for me were the owners who were incredibly frendly and tried to help with any problem be it getting taxis, helping direct us across town to a bike shop or pointing out great places to visit. Would recommend to anyone looking for cheap friendly accommodation.

The hostel was better than I expected, it was very clean and quite at night. I was however glad I took a taxi because it would have been a little hard to find. Even the taxi driver had to ask others for help before leaving the airport. The hostel personnel were very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Good basic accomodation with location close to the train station and walking distance to the city centre.

the photograph of this hostal doesn't reflect the reality :P well i couldn't identify where the little fountain is. the actual place is much smaller. when i arrived the staff couldn't identify my booking (and given my limited spanish i couldn't identify whether it's the fault of the system or they were absent minded not to have marked my booking). Despite the above my overall impression was great. the staff was very helpful despite limited English. i needed to see a doctor and the staff helped me to translate my problem into Spanish and taught me the way to the nearest medical service. i was very touched by her sincerity and kindness despite we couldn't communicate much. i was in the double room and everything is neat and clean. i do like the pleasant smell whenever i enter the place :) i would recommend this place given the price and the quality of service.

You get what you pay for. This was cheap, perfectly adequate, perfectly clean, if noisy, little hostal in an unscenic back street of Granada. The couple running it don't speak much English. Some great little breakfast cafes around the corner.

They were very flexible with my check out date, I ended up staying an extra day. Very nice and clean.

A nice little hotel with friendly staff, speaking just enough english. It is very noisy and the rooms are small, but clean. The location is nice, near the university so lots of students and student bars. A good map of the city is a must have, parking an absolute nightmare - an overnight stay in the underground garage nearby costs 10 euro, but finding another parking space is impossible!

Although we arrived after midnight (due to a bit of difficulty finding the property in the maze of narrow, one way streets!), we managed to check in with no problems. Both rooms booked were superb quality for the price - if I ever visit Granada again, I will definitely book here.
