This hotel has amazing value for money. I paid only 20 euros for one night and had a big balcony and a very cute, very clean room. The hotel is central and the reception was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. As soon as I stayed here I felt compelled to give them an excellent review. You won't be disappointed!

The hotel is rather old, with improvement it will be a very good hotel to stay since the location is very convenient for walking to several interesting places.

Stayed 3 nights in the first week of October. If you're coming into Granada by bus then at the bus station take the local bus no. 3 into town and get off at Gran Via 2, the stop opposite the Hostal. We had a nice clean room on the 5th floor overlooking the Albaycin. The lift is tiny and a bit cranky but it's a minor flaw. The location is excellent with most must-see places within easy walking distance. The staff are nice and friendly. They have locker room to safely store luggage for a trip out of town. There are eateries around and at the back, on Calle Elvira; I would recommend the tapas bar in the lane across the hostal, at the end of the lane take a left and you'll find it. For breakfast just pop in next door. Just don't expect anything to be open before 9 am!

The location is marvellous! Only 2-3 min. by foot to the Cathedral, located on the beautiful Gran Via. The bus from the airport stops just a couple minutes from the hostal. friendly stuff. The bathroom was very mouldy, but room was rather clean.

Well maybe the room is a little small, but I was once in London paying 130 pounds for a smaller one...then I really suggest this quite and nice hostal.

The location of the hostel is great and 30 euros for a double room with shower, is very good price. The room was nice and clean but a bit noisy. The only thing I have to complain is the friendliness of the staff. Some of them are quite helpful but some are the type that should not work in customer service.

The WiFi has a limited bandwidth and is therefore not fast enough, some pages can't sometimes be opened and one has to try several times. People at the reception are okay, but not really nice nor friendly, a bit distant and a little arrogant. There are two desktops in the common room with internet, yet one has to pay for it (or miserable), which I find a bit greedy and think they should provide guests this service for free.

Nice, clean and tidy room. Value for money. I stayed in a single room, and it was good. If you want to spend the least money for a clean private room, go ahead. There's a tv in the room, but you may not need it. 15 minutes walking to the cathedral of Granada. Not bad actually. Near bus stop on Gran Via de Colon. So you can go to the Central bus station easily.

Great suspicion the bed linen had not been changed from the previous guest(s)as it looked grubby with stains and hairs on the pillows. A horde of around 30 school children were waiting as I arrived at about 10.30 pm and subsequently checked in making quite a bit of noise and more so early morning when they left. There was plenty warm water but that was about it. Cheap but not cheerful.

Considering the location, the price (we paid 35 Euro per night) is great. The location is perfect, close to all attractions and right on the main road. We walked everywhere. Our room was small and the furnisihngs were old and extremely worn. The floor was very dirty. The room air conditioning unit did not work, but with an open window it was ok. We were there in May and I imagine in August it might be unberable. The staff were extremely knowledgable and helpful. There is a lounge with Internet access for 1 Euro per 30 minutes which is super convienient. Overall, for the price it's a great hostel.. If you are looking for something fancy or even just clean and new this is NOT the place.

The position is fantastic and there's also a public underground paying park area at 200mts from the hotel. The very cheap price doesn't compromise the quality of the service (if you're not looking for a luxury accomodation)

Reserve your room direct through the hotel's website. The venere price is 3,-- EUR/night more expensive than the direct booking. If you need a single room (which is not offered my venere) the difference is 6,-- EUR/night. So the venere reservation was not a good deal.

Good value for you money; some rooms are a bit noisy however. Excellent location, pretty close to the historical centre and to the 'soho' of Granada as well.

I had a single room and I was really impressed with the bathroom. It looked brand new and it was spotlessly clean. The room was very dark as the window looked out on to an internal area. It could be very noisy at night in the corridors. In the day time, it was difficult to sleep in as there was lots of noise. The staff were friendly and gave advice where necessary. The hostal is in a good location; close to the cathedral and about 10 mins walk from the albycin. i would stay here again, but hopefully I would have a room with a view and more natural light!

The first room they had reserved for me in the hotel athenas at granada was terribly bad and unacceptable, without any window in the 1st floor. After intense complaints at the reservation desk I got a new room (5th floor) which was beautiful and spacious and a little balcony where you could see over the whole city of Granada.

It is located on the main street, femal staff is very unfriendly, but I noticed that most of the femal population in Spain is unfriendly :-S... But besides that... The bathroom was very filthy... Some thing were broken.. and you were lucky not to be electrocuted when you plugged your blower in! Stupid that they do not have any stairs higher than the first floor... and not many rooms have a window with daylight... If you have young legs.. you should look a little bit further for a hostal a little bit more away from the main streets.. My experience is that it can offer so much more for your hard-earned money. It is also very noisy on the hallways...
