Hostal Martinval - Barcelona

The staff were very accommodating especially the receptionist who helped us in our luggage ( they speak English ). The hotel is like a flat with a tiny tiny ancient lift that holds 3-4 people but its fine though that's part of the holiday :) Our room is very spacious and we got a massive toilet. The room comes with a balcony overlooking the streets of Barcelona. There are many restaurants around the hotel like "la muscle" and small supermarkets like Spar. The thing that I don't like in the room is the duvet which doesn't have any cover at all :( During our first night we don't have hot water but they manage to fix it the next day. But that doesn't stop us from having a lovely holiday. If I will come back to Barcelona I will still choose to stay in Martinval :) thank you to all the staff especially the housekeeper whose sweet and nice! More power! We had a lovely time <3

The Hostel is close to a metro station, the rooms are clean and the staff are polite, but a negative point to highlight is the noise from the room. Our room was next to the reception and all the external sound is captured, in addition there are also big noise coming from the upstairs room at last is something that should be reviewed by the owners of the hostel.

Hostal Martinval covers the basics. Clean room, enough space, excellent shower. Location is good, prices are fair. Quality of sleep highly depends on the civility of guests in adjoining rooms, as walls seem very, very thin. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.
