Arthostal - Barcelona

The location is exellent, central and in a very coisy area but the hostal did not offer much service/cleaning.

Room was without a real window, it was cold dark and humid room. Shower in the wardrobe - we didn´t used it, WC and other shower was out of room, across the common kitchen. Kitchen was well equipped, tjis was a plus. Impossible to pay with credit card, no internet access. Surrounding - small street, quite, close to the center.

Great atmosfaire inside Arthostal, a central & nice area, a very helpful owner, stayed 3 nights and will definitely return to this magnificent unique little place.

We had a really nice stay at the home of the hosts. Exellent sorrundings in the old town.

In the end, we were not accommodated in the Arthostal, as booked, but in the hostal's owner own big flat in a lovely, small room under the roof("the blue room"; light blue ceiling) with a separate bathroom for ourselves next door. We were given the houses's keys and could come and go as we liked. We could use the fridge and could have eaten at the big dining room table - something I preferred not to do, because there was the house's cat lying o n the table. They also have a good but curious little dog. The room was in the Borne quarter and we could do much sightseeing from there on foot. The Bulgarian "landlady" Sasha was so kind to pick us up with her bycicle from Metro Jaume I for, at first, their house is not easy to find. The quality/price ratio is very good: 60€ per night/room. You need to pay cash.

El hostal esta muy bien ubicado, cerca del metro y de varios puntos turísticos. Tiene un amplio comedor y una cocina muy bien equipada (cuenta con heladera, microondas y hornallas) donde te podes cocinar y guardar alimentos. El problema fundamental es que nuestra habitación no tenía puerta de madera sino una mampara de vidrio tapada con una cortina cuya cerradura no funcionaba (y no había llave para cerrar desde adentro). Tuvimos que dormir con un ojo abierto y otro cerrado para verificar que nadie entrara a la habitación. Hay muy poca privacidad, las paredes son delgadas y se puede escuchar lo que sucede en las otras habitaciones. El baño privado es chiquito pero todo funciona bien. Si solucionaran algunos problemitas sería un gran hostal.
