The hotel is not in a walking distance from the airport. However, the shuttle service is perfect!

I made this booking on behalf of my son, who found the facilities satisfactory. The one significant issue which was unsatisfactory, for which I have had to choose the categories ' quality of service ' and ' competence of employees 'to comment on, concerns payment. Despite the hotel's stated policy on your web site, my credit card was debited for the full amount as soon as I made the reservation. I took this up with the hotel, who claimed, rather unconvincingly, that Venere had misunderstood their policy and that they would raise it with them. That was some time ago, but the stated policy on the Venere site is as before, that the hotel will NOT debit customers' accounts when they make a reservation. The hotel contravened that policy.

An otherwise perfect stay was compromised by being provided by a room prepared for one person (we were 2)with one pillow, one single duvet, and one bath towel. It took over an hour and three personal visits to reception - even volunteering myself to fetch the missing items if they would only point me in the right direction - before I gave up and insisted on being moved to a 'real' double room. At this point a different member of reception staff took over, transferred us, with apologies, to a larger, properly equipped, room. If the original staff member had done this when it became obvious that the housekeeper wasn't responding to her request, then I would've had no complaints about the service at all.

The hotel was of good quality especially for the price i had a couple of grumbles though, we were not allowed to check-in before 1pm, and my flight landed at 10am, the location is a bit deserted! and i did not undrestand why i had to pay upfront for our room!

To get to and from the hotel you have to use a taxi or a hotel shuttle. The shuttle runs only every half hour (you are not told about the 30 min break). It cost me about £15 in mobile phone bills of calls to get the shuttle from the railway station. Some staff is unhelpful.

the hotel was adequate for one night stopover for plane to train transfer. there was a problem with issue as to breakfast being prepaid as indicated on our booking form from venere, which spoilt breakfast, also guests should be aware of problems with courtesy bus, one must make a firm booking the previous night if this service is required otherwise you can end up with no seat on bus and get billed 10 euroes at the station/airport by a taxi driver who does not understand the english for "the hotel will pay you!!!"

The staff has been very accomodating. We arrived earlier than the checked in hours and the clerk on duty was pleasantly took our baggages in hold baggage room until we are ready to get checked in. Hotel shuttle service was offered to take us to nearest public transportation to get to city.

We enjoyed out stay in the Holiday Inn very much. If we had known how good it was we would have stayed for the entire holiday. The mini bus into town is a real bonus!

The hotel was very nice. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. And the food was good in the restaurant. The staff was very nice. The only problem that I had was the location. I flew into another airport and did not realize how far it was to the Holiday Inn. And I did not realize how far it was from Berlin. I changed hotels after 3 night and stayed in Berlin. It easliy takes 50 minutes to 1 hour to get from your room to the heart of Berlin. Sometimes it took longer if I just missed trains and had to wait. So, if you are a tourist and want to rest in your room after a day of walking around before you go back out for dinner then you have a long day of traveling. At least 4 hours of travel each day. If you need to be close to the airport then it is a great hotel.

There was a major mixup regarding breakfast, which we were originally told was included, but for which the hotel wanted to charge 15€ per person per day. So we ate out. The connections to Berlin were reasonable, but the original route indicated to the train station by the staff was somewhat torturous, until we discovered a shortcut for ourselves. Even so it was 10 minutes' walk, plus at least 20 minutes' train journey.There is virtually nothing to Schoenefeld itself, so it was vital to be able to go off elsewhere and, although the Holiday Inn was very much a typical Holiday Inn, I think we would try and find somewhere more central if we returned to Berlin.

Take the Berliner Ring highway (A10) to the motorway junction Schönefelder Kreuz, and proceed along the A113. Follow the indications for the airport, and then for Potsdam and Teltow. About 900 meters after having passed the airport, turn right behind the gas station.
By train
From the train station Flughafen-Schönefeld, about 800 meters from the hotel, you can take advantage of the hotel's shuttle service.
By airplane
The hotel offers a shuttle service from and to the Berlin-Schönefeld airport, about 1 km away.
The Tegel airport is about 40 km from the hotel, and a taxi ride costs about €40,00.
A taxi ride from the Tempelhof airport, 15 km from the hotel, costs about €20,00.
