The only good thing about this place is the location. You are close to everything. This is more a 2 star hotel. The mattresses need to be changes (you can feel the springs and the curves.) If your room is on the street...very noisy.

We're highly satisfied with the quality of the accomodations. We stayed in a very spacious room suitable for 3 adults. It was very comfortable, with plenty of light to read. The only reason I gave a rating of "4" for "Quietness of Rooms" is because our room overlooked c/Arenal which is busy and noisy at all hours. I feel that other customers need to be aware of which rooms are noisier in case they prefer quieter ones. We liked the ambience, so for us the noise was no problem. We would gladly stay in Petit Palace Arenal again during our next stay in Madrid.

There are at least 4 Petite Palace within 3-5 minutes of each other near the Puerta del Sol in Madrid, so be sure you know which one you're reserving. Any of them are very convenient to Sol, Plaza Mayor and Gran Via. I think they're all fine. I'm grateful that a company has taken older structures and retored them very nicely. I have no complaints. The staff was nice.

Great location, good quad room for family of four. Expensive breakfast not worth the cost. The top bunk bed was hard for my 12 year old to get up to with no ladder. Overall we were happy with our stay in Madrid.

The night receptionist was very nice and helpful. I can't say as much for the morninging/day time ones. We would actually save our questions for the girl who worked at night. The hotel did not live up to the pictures. Overall a nice stay but we definitely preferred the other hotels we stayed at in Barcelona, Seville, and Madrid to this one.

OK tourist property in the heart of Madrid. A bit surprising though that bathroom is seperated from the bedroom only by a thin see-through glassdoor. The receptionists were not very welcoming and did not really pay attention to us. The young woman working nights there was always on the phone, and did not greet us once during our 4 night stay. Very central location, quite good value for money.

Good Location and rooms surprisingly quiet for a City Centre location. The Breakfast was very good and the room in which it was served very pleasant. The Reception staff were kind and friendly. The Bunk bed for the children would suit older children better as the ladder was wobbly and there were was no side to the top bunk. the Hotel was very easy to get to and find and it was great to be so Central.

Good hotel in quiet location on pedestrianised street. Air conditioning did not appear to work. Was not a problem as blankets available for the bed. Very convenient for everywhere. Did not need to use public transport at all. Breakfast is expensive at E10, and plenty of cafes around. Great for being first in the queue at the Royal Palace where they doa great breakfast! Only a small sitting area, so not great to read a book.

The room we had was very small and had a very bad smell - like sewage. The lobby and other public areas we saw were acceptable but not as stylish as I had anticipated from the photographs. The location was superb - very close to major sites. Staff were friendly and fairly helpful. I would not choose this hotel again.

The hotel is in a very central location on a pedestrians street. The metro, buses, a bank, and shopping is right at the door. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pictures on the net showed the room design and layout but the space is very small for a triple compared to what we have in the states. Breakfast was super and at a great price for Europe - 8euros all you can eat.

Happy with the hotel. Good room for family of four (11 & 13yr old). Very clean & hotel's facilities met our needs for a 2 night stay in Madrid. Bathroom was great. Very central hotel, perfect for sightseeing - on the doorstep or walking distance to most city tourist spots (also very close to public transport).

The room was not cleaned properly - the rubbish was not collected or the rooms swept or dusted from day to day. The cups were left dirty on the sink and the sink was never cleaned. The hotel would have to be the noisest hotel I have ever stayed in. There are two discos in the same street and on our last nght at the hotel we did not get any sleep. When I mentioned these two issues to the reception staff they seemed rather disinterested in my comments.

Un peu surchauffé en cette saison (mars) mais très bonne impression générale. Belle alliange de modernité et d'ancien (salle voutée en pierre pour le petit dej).

METRO STOP : SOL, not Atocha. It is two blocks from Sol, and a mile from Atocha. A block from Petit Palace Puerta de Sol. Sol is the center of Madrid, and probably the best location in Madrid for tourist. The room was nice, but the bed was kind of dirty, with visible stains on the sheets and mattress itself. The glass bathroom door sounds cool and is a very interesting idea, except until you need to go use the toilet to take a dump. There is no vent in the bathroom or lock, so the odor gets in to the whole room pretty quickly and you can see thru the glass, not a pretty sight. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THE AMERICAN FAMILY. The safe is the best feature of the room as you can use it by sliding any card with a magnetic strip through it to lock and unlock.

Good city centre position but be careful if taking a car. The only (off street) parking available is a public underground park about 100 metres away. This is expensive - 28 euros per day when I stayed. A modern, clean and well run hotel, ideal for a city break.

We're three girlfriends traveling together, the family size room was spacious and clean, we had a balcony which opened to the street, right across from "Joy". Staff was friendly, and spoke "some" English. The breakfast was on discount for 10 euros, and was quite nice. The only thing that bothered me a little was the bathroom, there was no actual bath "room", it was only a foggy glass.

At first I have to say that this hotel is nice. But still, I don't think that I can use Excellent for some of its parameters and I also think that average isn't that bad. So don't get wrong my rating. Staff in the hotel is really nice and helpful, rooms are clean and well equipped. Great plus (for me) was the free internet. But don't forget to bring your own ethernet cable! Hotel is situated in one of most crowded streets in Madrid, but still quiet enough (at least my room was). Hotel's public areas are small, but you won't need any bigger (probably). Location is excellent. Generally I liked to stay there, it's a nice above-average hotel in this price range.

After spending three weeks around Spain and Italy, the Petit Palace Arenal was the perfect way to end our trip. After dealing with low-pressure, handheld shower nozzles for our entire trip, the showers with their body nozzles and rainforest head at this property were a welcoming feature. I must have been in the shower for at least 30 minutes. The furnishings in the room were very modern and exactly as pictured in the hotel listings. In-room complimentary DSL was perfect, considering I brought my laptop with me. The location of this property is excellent, especially if you like being just meters away from Puerta del Sol.

The hotel rates itself as 3 star +, which is not really the case. Most of the ultra modern devices are cheap and low quality. Soundprofness is close to zero, you may almost hear your neighbors talking. Personnel is not very polite and professional. For our surprise, at our arrival we were told the hotel had been oppened just 26 days before. Even in a late night, the welcoming and the informations provided were really great. However, once in the rooms (one double for me and my wife and onother single for my brother), the problems began. Apparently the rooms were clean because of the smell of fresh painting and the new furnitures, but going into details, we found lots of dust. In the following day, we reported that the minibar was not working, as well as the locker and, despite the fact we continued to report the problems, nothing has been done for the rest of our staying, four days in total. Essencial maintenance were in place during this time and very often we faced some disturbing noise from people working in the public areas. Free internet access a good point. No storing room for luggages, so we kept worried to leave our bellongings near the reception for a couple of hours while people were passing by. Overall rating poorer than it could deserve given the exceptional location. It seems that owners rushed to open the hotel without the necessary facilities.

Great surroundings, helpful staff, nice interior. The disappointments include absence of bicycle in the room (please indicate on the web site that not all rooms have it) and on several days we were left without hand soap: the cleaning lady obviously threw away the old one and forgot to replace it. Some of our stuff we use were also thrown away, which slightly annoyed us.
