Hotel High Tech Arturo Soria - Madrid

This is a really nice hotel, outside the madness of Madrid center. However, the metro station, one block away is a plus. Very nice, quiet neighborhood. We had a 5-person room which was large enough for the five of us. The only drawback was the wireless Internet connection. It only worked in one corner of the room! Fortunately, a laptop was provided, and we were able to use it without the need for passwords.

Surprised no CNN,BBC News, or SOME other ENGLISH channel as this seems like a business hotel; but whether or not Business or tourist, I would think many English speakers are guests. There were several German channels by comparison1

Nice hotel and area but too far from city area for tourist

This is a great family place, across the street from the movie theatre and restaurants. Metro connections to the town center and airport are good, metro is easy to use and costs just one euro a trip. Internet access and the computer in the room were great! We were there in December so I can´t comment on summer facilities.

Excellent location outside city center. Value for money in Madrid. Laptop and free wifi was a real plus. We would rate this more a 3* than 4*, although we were comfortable here. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't mind 3* comforts and is happy to travel into city center. We were a family of 4 (boys age 11 and 9) and had a "family room" which consisted of a double bed and pullout foam sofa bed. Without sofa bed open, room was comfortable size, even spacious for a big European city. But cramped with bed open. However, we spent most of our time seeing the sites, so room size wasn't a big issue. Sofa bed was not very comfortable, ok for the boys but not great for adults or big kids, unless very tolerant of where they sleep. Laptop was a big bonus -- could do some last minute research on sites, explore plan Bs, check weather etc. And our boys who couldn't understand the Spanish TV enjoyed the access to games! Also, there was an exercise bike in the room -- nice touch. Location was SUPERB! City center might have been nice but much more expensive, and we also needed parking and Arturo Soria had free parking -- big plus. Shopping center right on the main intersection near the hotel (50 meters), and small children's play area across the street. Hotel staff like to promote the Burger King and Pizza Hut (and McDonald's just north on Alle de Alcala) to foreign tourists. We tried to stay clear. Restaurant Aenea in the mall was lovely, as was the tapas bar on 1st floor(for UK) 2nd floor (for US)just up the escalator. Also some great breakfast cafeteria spots just off the main intersection. Much cheaper than hotel breakfast, and we managed a lot with very little Spanish and some charm -- not to mention very kind and patient Madrilenos! Nearest metro stop, Ciudad Lineal, on green line was super convenient -- and whole Madrid metro system in general is terrific. No changes to get into city center, only 4-5 stops from the bull

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The surroundings were great. Very accessable to shopping and restaurants.

Quite surrondings but only 2 minutes to the subway. Nice bar (and restaurant) outside. Free parking. Accepts pets.

Price was exactly as indicated ; computer inside room functioned properly as well as LAN connection (via cable, supplied by Hotel) for personal PC connection. Minor repairs needed (under way?) for some furniture in the room (door of minibar) but overall excellent stay, convienient for a family of four with very young children.

He disfrutadode la estancia en este hotel en dos ocasiones, y la verdad he quedado mas q satisfecho, es una zona tranquila, con un centro comercial muy cerca y con una conocida calle con todo tipo de comercios y facilidades como es Alcala. muy bien comunicado, ya q en metro (cuya estacion mas cercana esta a escasos metros) puede irse al centro de la ciudad en pocos minutos y en coche dispone de salidas muy cercanas a la carretera. El unico fallo q creo podria encontrarle es la proximidad del paking y la calle a las ventanas de las habitaciones pues si no se tiene cuidado es relativamente facil q te vean desde el exterior, de todos modos, y tengo q decir q con una excelente relacion calidad precio, no dudaria en recomendarlo a todo aquel q quiera disfrutar de una agradable estancia, tranquila y llena de comodidades (por cierto las camas son muy comodas y las duchas son estupendas)

No hay practicamente nada en los alrededores del hotel para salir y comer. El restaurant del hotel no funciona para la cena solo para el desayuno. La caja de seguridad del cuarto no funcionaba. El hotel no representa el nivel que se le sugiere de 4 estrellas. No lo recomiendo.

The location of the hotel is not ideal if you want to attend a trade fair at the Ifema and if you wish to use the metro to travel because there is no direct route. Also has a non-Spanish speaking Brit' it was a little dfficult ordering meals in the restaurants in the area of the hotel, at least in the ones I tried. However the hotel was clean, the staff courteous and friendly and the area in which its located is pleasant just a little off the beaten track of the more 'touristy' parts of Madrid.

Very good position (metro station at 70m only)

NOT IN THE CENTER OF THE CITY BUT WELL LINKED (about 10 stops of green metro). The hotel is beautiful in a good "barrio" with everything nera (metro 70 mt, a very big shopping center with fast food, restaurant (burger king, Pizza Hut...) & 8 cinemas, a catholic church, an open market...). The best if you want a beautiful hotel near fair and airport, but if you want more "movida" try in the high tech in the center of the city ;)
