We chose a double room, but there were suites with a seperate sitting area which we would have enjoyed more, if we'd realised. We were very comfortable. Our bathroom light intruded significantly into the bedroom when nocturnal need made it necessary, so a switch inside the bathroom would have been better, Lovely spot and our first experience of Portugal Guest House and the area. The food was excellent , the location dramatic The road daunting

How to reach Guest House Quinta de São Thiago
By airplane
From the airport, take the road going south to the Lisbon centre. Reach a large roundabout, under the flyover. Take the first way out on the right, and you will be in the Lisbon circular road, called 2.ª circular, going westwards. Proceed straight on, pass Benfica, and take the IC 19 motorway, going to Sintra. When the IC 19 ends, take the narrower road, pass Ranholas, after a roundabout, pass a large self-service gas station (BP) on your left hand, proceed to S. Pedro de Sintra, go down to the old Sintra vila, pass near the royal palace with two very big chimneys (on your right side), and follow the Seteais direction.
Having passed Seteais Palace, continue for about a further 1,4 km until you reach the only path to the right, and follow signs to Quinta de S. Thiago.
