Stayed with Bologna for three nights. The host Micheala was very hospitable and friendly! She asked me to keep her namecard with mobile no, in case I need to seek any assistance (translation) when I travel in Italy. A small pity was, the bathroom was not within the bedroom though it was still in a housing unit. Location was great.

Everything was exactly as advertised and the location was excellent. The Bologna House was convenient to transportation. The #62 bus originated just across the Piazza, literally just yards away, and provided transportation to everything we wanted to see. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. We were made to feel quite welcome were well treated the whole time we were there. It's not the Hilton, but it is well worth the price. If you need a clean, comfortable place to stay, you cant go wrong staying at the Bologna House.B&B.

We were very impressed by the welcome we felt relaxed and at home right away. Daniella and Micheala were wonderful and gave us lots of advice on where to eat and where to go.It was my husbands birthday the day we arrived and they brought us sparkling wine to our room to celebrate. The room was good and spotless as was the bathroom. It was very convinient for the bus and the Metro and it was good to come back in the evening to eat in the local resturants with lots of the local people a real feel of Rome but not at all like the centre of Rome very good value. We would not hesitate to recommend this guest house and would like to thank Danella and Michaela for giving us a holiday with such good memories. We will be back thank you. Margaret and Mike Crowley

We had a really perfect stay at the B&B Bologna. Daniela and Micaela let us feel like at home and gave us very helpful tips about all the sights and how to get there. Location of the B&B isn't in the center, but with bus no. 62, which parts at the other side of Piazza Bolgna, and the metro right in front of the house you get to the center easily.

Despite its location on a busy piazza, my room was quiet with excellent air conditioning. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast is nothing to write home about. Would definitely stay there again.

Not in the centre of Rome but why would you want to be there when B&B Bologna is so well placed to the Metro and Bus services. The 62 bus starts from just across the road - you can always get a seat - and runs through the heart of the city all the way to the Vatican. Bologna Metro station [below the square] is only 3 stops from Rome's main station [TERMINI] with connections to everywhere. I stayed four nights and enjoyed every moment. The rooms are large and I also had a private bathroom. The associated kitchen which serviced two rooms for breakfast contained a fridge - you could keep your drinks cold - and also a stove so you could make a cup of coffee/tea when you wanted to. The narrow balcony overlooking the square was a wonderful place to sit at the end of the day with a cold beer and watch the world go by. Aldo and his family were perfect hosts and full of hints and advice for the tourist. A walk around the district and you soon realised you were living in the Rome of the Romans not the tourists - a real community. For what it is worth I am a well travelled 78 year old male who had never visited Rome and wanted to do so before it was too late!

My second trip to Rome and this time because of B&B Bologna, it's much better experience. Location is great - you are one minute from the metro, which is only 3 stops from Termini. Also only 7 min walk to another major train station, so going to the Fiumicino airport is very easy - and it costs half of the price of going from Termini. The place is clean and pleasant. Breakfast is good too. We have no complaint! Next time to Rome I will want to stay here again.

Perfect place for overnight stays. 1 min from the tube and the first/last stop for Bus 62 which passes all important sights on its way. Had a room from the Piazza and was very quiet at night. And pitch black once you've rolled the shatters down LOL Basic but delicious continental breakfast. And the coffee smell already made and waiting for you in the kitchen thanx to Mrs Sanguinetti. The only drawback - towels. They were more of the scrub flannels, actually. So you'd better bring your own ones.

Mu husband and I stayed at the B & B Bologna for 5 nights in June 2007. It was absolutely wonderful. Aldo and his wife were so welcoming. The rooms were very clean and Aldo gave us great information about the buses, metro, restaurants, etc. We especially loved the neighborhood where the B & B was located. We felt as though we really experienced Rome by staying here. We would definitely return.

Breakfast quality was very very poor, supermarket multipack croissants, when people want to go there to sample delicious Italian food (which is available from the same supermarket just not in multipack plastic wrapped versions.. not tasty). Simple fresh pastries and cappuccino would make a far better second B in the B&B. Shared shower was faulty, almost no water pressure. Friendly and knowledgeable owners though, nice spacious room with comfortable bed, convenient location on B train.

The couple are extremly nice and welcoming. They tried to make sure that all was well for our stay. The location is a little difficult to find and the listed directions are not good to give you an idea as to where the location is. The breakfast isn't the best, but is a meal. The AC was great since it was mid 90's when we were in Rome, so that helped a lot. Also, the gentleman will let you use his internet, so just ask. I was a little concerned when he wanted us to pay on arrival because he wanted to make sure that he got our money "before we were pickpocketed".

The owners were very kind and extremely helpfull with advice for our stay in Rome. The location, with all of the public transportation in the area, was very convenient! The local bars and resturants recommended by the owners were very nice. The beds were the most comfortable we had in our entire stay in Italy. Now that the news stand is just outside of the front door it should be very easy to find the Bologna B@B no matter how you arrive there. We loved our stay and highly recommend the area to anyone who wants higher quality accomadations at a lower price. The distance into the old city is nothing when you have all of the public transportation conveniences right outside of your door and owners who take the time to give you the bus numbers that you need to find everything! It was almost like having our own apartment in Rome.

We chose B&B Bologna because of its relative proximity to the Termini railway station (3 metro stops) and price. The owners are very friendly and helpful with their suggestions. They speak good English and French. We had no problems with our stay. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. I could skip the breakfast though. It consisted of a hot drink and some prepackaged and rather tasteless pastries, toasts, etc. We had a room with a shared bathroom and that was an inconvenience in the mornings, having to wait for the other guests to finish first or coming out with shower towels while they sit in the kitchen having breakfast. Nevertheless, if you are on a budget and such inconveniences are unimportant, the place is good and clean. A note about trying to find the place: look for No 5 Piazza Bologna, even though it is actually No 6. The name of the B&B is posted on a small brass plate next to the front door buzzer. A suggestion to the owners is to post a picture of the front door on the website for easier recognition or perhaps making a more visible sign above the entrance.

Aldo and Daniela were very accommodating to our needs. They provided a common kitchen filled with needed supplies and two common bathrooms that also had a hair dryer for the girls. The metro is within 15 steps of the entrance and the location is a prime spot for any tourist or resident of Rome, being within walking distance of the metro, the local grocery store, banks, restaurants, and shopping stores. Internet access is provided here though the resources of Aldo's own personal computer as well as phone and fax access through the lobby. Located on the second floor, there is stair-way access as well as elevator access. It's a very safe neighborhood and a very safe building as well.

We really liked staying at this B & B. It was literally within 50 yards of a Metro station with an elevator for luggage on a line that went directly to the train station. It was located at the beginning of the #62 bus that went to many of the important sites of the city. Because it was the beginning you could always get a good seat on the bus. It took about 15 minutes to get into the very center of Rome but the neighborhood was wonderful with good restaurants, laundry and bank services. The management was very helpful and always available before and during our stay. it was a bit noisy when a drunken party emerged from the metro but we were there over a national holiday weekend and I think that made it worse than usual. We had a full service kitchen in our apartment. The breakfast was served in our apartment and consisted of cereal, toast and not very good rolls, coffee, tea, juice, but we could bring in and cook anything we liked from a nearby market. The room could have done with some hooks for our towels and other items. The shower was very small but excellent. There was no tub which we missed. The owner also let us use his computer so we had access to our email. We would look forward to coming back to this apartment.

B&B Bologna's main selling point is Aldo & Daniella Sanguinetti. They are gracious hosts who are very accommodating and go out of their way to help you out in any way possible. Room we stayed in was spacious, with clean bathroom, large window and comfortable bed. Breakfast--packaged pastries with diff spreads--can be improved, but this is more than made up for by unlimited fruit juices and coffee. Location is excellent: few steps away from metro station with elevator/escalators. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. There are also good, cheap restaurants and supermarket nearby. The only downside is that towels were not changed, website did not mention that airconditioning is not available for certain time of the year (May, for example), and only internet access is Aldo's own computer in his house. He, however, was more than willing to allow us to use his connection. For anyone planning to stay in B&B Bologna, look for BNL bank. The B&B is on its right, front door has a "6 Piazza Bologna" above. It's also right next to a Kebab King outlet (with excellent fish shawarma!). Thank you, Aldo and Daniella, for making our stay in Rome a good one! We hope to see you again!

The hotel is sistuated in one of the side streets of Plaza Bologna. There is no sing at the door, but if you call the owner can provide better directions. The BB was indeed very good, clean, and convenient. The metro station is not more than 100 meters from the BB and it is easy to get to anywhere in Rome using the metro station. There is also a bus that runs strait from the Plaza to most of the important sites of Rome. The rooms were clean, but unimpressive. The breakfast adequate. Good value for the money.

Bed and Breakfast Bologna surpassed our expectations. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return when we have another opportunity to travel back to Rome. Just a note regarding the map provided - the instructions are confusing. The simplest way is to exit from the Metro into San Lorenzo (exit name) Turn right by the BNS bank and you should see the apartment door with Bologna on it. There is a small parking lot in front of it.

Our room was spacious, our host was gracious, our stay was short but very satisfying. We loved the location, not center city, but just around the corner from major subway and bus lines and a cab from central Rome was only around 10 euros. During breakfast we were able to chat with our host, Aldo and he gave wonderful advice on local restaurants and on how to get to the major sites. Aldo even cautioned us about how to avoid pickpockets. Alas, I was tired and not paying attention on a bus ride home and lost 70-100 euros. The one minus was for me the shower. I am quite large(over 200lbs) and could barely squeeze in the corner door. My spouse, at 150 had no problem at all. I would still highly recommend this bed and breakfast. My spouse is Jewish and we even found a kosher butcher and restaurant in the neighborhood!

B&B Bologna was exactly what I'd expect from any budget-priced accomodations in Europe. It was spartan, clean, a little noisy and a little worn around the edges. It was also very nicely located relative to the Metro stop and the hosts were very friendly and informative. The neighbourhood looks a little iffy at first glance, but we felt absolutely safe. I would definitely go back.

This B&B has got so many good reviews that it's no point in writing a new one very similar to them. I can simply agree that they say the truth and it is a very good place to stay if you are in Rome! To sum up - the best: owners (nice and helpful), very close to bus & metro, good price, good breakfast (according to "continental breakfast" and other B&B in Rome). Really dont be afraid that it is so away from the centre of the city! It's only 10 min by Metro! The entrance to metro is 25 meters from Blogna B&B door!!! And the bus about 50 meters! Whats more, pizza and shops in the surroundings have normal prices compared to that in centre.

There was an accidental room booking error and we were upgraded to a suite on the 9th floor. We had an entire apartment to ourselves! Since we weren't in the B&B for breakfast, Aldo and Daniella paid for us to eat at a nearby cafe! Aldo speaks perfect English and his directions from Termini were excellent. We were very warmly welcomed by him and his wife. The tourist map and bus advice he gives are extremely valuable and our trip to Rome was better because of it. The view, the service and the facilities at B&B Bologna were AMAZING. I would definitely return because of the good price, good location and very friendly service.

The location is great: between the Metro stop right outside the door and the bus stop across the square, you can get most anywhere in Rome. The apartment was great for two sets of folks who know each other. The refrigerator and stove allow the possibility of keeping snacks. I would feel lesss comfortable sharing the apartment with strangers. Aldo, the owner, is friendly and very helpful with information about Rome and its treasures.

We stayed in 5 different hotels/B&B's during our four weeks in Europe and I can easily state that our stay here was the best of the lot. We shared a 2 bedroom apartment with another mature couple of friends who were equally impressed with the convenient central location (30 m from metro), nice neighbourhood and the spacious accomodation with kitchen (minimally equipped but adequate enough to prepare lunches and simple suppers). The thing that really impressed us was the wonderful welcome, service and advice provided by Aldo and his wife. They bent over backwards to help and expected nothing extra in return for the many extras they provided. In summary, they made our stay in Rome a top notch experience.

We had an excellent experience at the Bed and Breakfast Bologna. The room was very spacious, the in-room bath was more than adequate. The breakfast was generous from our experience. The host was most gracious and offered plenty of insights and tips, directions, etc. The B&B was very easy to get to from the metro station, although it is good to know that it is in an apartment building. It will be difficult to recognize the building you are looking for at first. Make sure you have excellent directions/instructions for finding the facility.

I WOULD RECOMMEND B&B BOLOGNA FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO STAY IN ROME ON A BUDGET. ALDO THE OWNER WAS FANTASTIC AT SUPPLYING ALL THE INFORMATION WE NEEDED FOR OUR VISIT. HE SUPPLIED A MAP WITH THE BUS ROUTE SO WE WOULD BE ABLE TO HOP ON AND OFF THE BUS AND VISIT ALL THE SIGHTS - WHICH WE DID IN 2 DAYS!! YOU JUST GET THE 62 OR 63 BUS (CAN'T REMEBER WHICH ONE BUT ASK ALDO HE IS A MINE OF INFORMATION! B&B BOLOGNA IS A BIT HARD TO FIND BUT IF YOU ARRIVE BY METRO JUST TURN LEFT AFTER THE BANK AND THE ENTRANCE IS THERE. THE ROOMS ARE VERY CLEAN WITH SOAP AND TOWELS PROVIDED, ALDO WILL ALSO SUPPLY A HAIR DRYER IF NEEDED. THE BREAKFAST IS BASIC BUT THERE IS COFFEE, TEA AND ORANGE JUICE, CEREAL AND A CHOICE OF MELBA TOAST AND PASTRIES WITH JAM, MARMALADE. IT IS ABOUT 40 MINS AWAY BY BUS FROM THE VATICAN CITY, BUT ALL THE OTHER SIGHTS ARE ON ROUTE.

Hello.. We did not stay at the piazza bologna 6 due to an error made by the establishment. although, they had received our reservation online, it was not recorded on their daily ledger. although, this was disconcerting, the owners took great care of us, apologized at great length, and found us lodging in a short period of time which ended up being nicer than where we booked. they also gave us a ride with our luggage to the hotel. the piazza 6 did look like a nice place with a good location to the train station.

Among so many choices of accomodations in Rome, I think we made an excellent one for B&B Bologna. We felt so safe to walk to the closeby restaurant at night and go back and forth to museums and remains. Maybe we had been too cautious to use subways or fool around main tourist places, but it turned out right when we heard from other tourists we met in Florence their terrible stories of being robbed. The owner Aldo and Daniella are wonderful hosts as other comments made clear. They made us feel at home and filled us with smart ways to sightsee and dine as well as their ways of thinking to live a life. We just loved their smiles and talk even for a short while. This is nothing like what you could expect in a hotel stay and definitely special. After a long day of walk we felt so comfortable and healed in the orthopedic bed of the spacious room. The bed was what I can't forget and I even bought the same type for my dad this week! We definitely recommend you'd ask Aldo for advice for local restaurants. The one in Testaccho is the reason we'd come back again soon. The dinner left nothing else to desire and was not at all expensive; 35 euro including fabulous wine.

Be careful - a room on the Piazza side is VERY loud... the windows are not double and have no inside wood shutters to cancel out the all-night mopeds and bus noise of this major intersection. The bathroom was advertised as private since we were the only ones using it - but you had walk down a short hall, past another room, to get to it. You decide if this warrants a private room charge. It was so unbearable that we had to leave after 1 night (and still had to pay for 3 nights per the owner's policy). We stayed in 2 other hotels in Rome that were slightly more money, but a big leap up in quality.

Very pleased with the room at Bologna, very helpful owner who is always ready to help with directions and where to go. Shower facilities good and clean, breakfast is plain but very nice. We now refer to Aldo as "Saint Aldo" - he saved our teddy's life! After a wonderful stay at his B&B, we found on our arrival in Florence that we had left ted behind. Much drama.... One phone call to Aldo and he had sent the bear by priority mail to our address in Florence and she was there the next day. Bravo Aldo! This kind action topped off a terrific stay with Aldo and his wife Daniella; we had not been to Rome before and he was only too happy to tell us about the place, where to go and how to get there. Out stay would not have been any where near as good as it was without our conversations. Location was quite noisy, but so is Rome. We had a balcony overlooking the piazza, which provided its own entertainment. Thank you Sanguinetti's - cheers!

Rome would just not have been the same had we not stayed here. Aldo and Daniella are superb hosts and took great care to make sure we were happy. The location is great as it is away from the madness of central Rome with all the tourists. The bus route stops right outside the doorstep and takes you right through the city centre stopping at all main attractions and ending up at the Vatican. The subway is also a 30 second walk away. We loved our stay here, mostly because of the warmth and generosity of the hosts. We would recommend this to anyone.

We found this B&B an excellent place from which to see all the sites of Roma as it was only about 20 metres from the Metro and 60 metres from bus No.62 which goes through the centre of the city and to the Vatican. The property, although not in the centre of the city is only 3 metro stops away. Aldo offered a fund of information and was extremely helpful to us and we appreciated his style of Italian humour. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent. We would definately stay here again and recommend it to all our friends.

Aldo is a great host and overall stay was perfect. Excellent location if you're flying into Rome, as you can ride the Leonardo Express and transfer easily to the Subway and this B&B is about 100 steps from the exit. My only complaint is that I was charged more than what I was quoted for my stay. Since it was my first B&B in Italy, I presumed a tax was added.. but later found out that all other B&B's in Italy charged exactly as my reservation said. I should have been charged 219, but was charged about 280.

We had a lovely stay at Bologna. Aldo was immensely friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The area wasn't particularly nice but it was right beside a bus stop and was safe for us to leave our rental car outside, free of charge. Breakfast was average in relation to other accomodation we stayed in during our two and a half week stay in Italy!

After a warm welcome from wife and daughter, Aldo himself introduced us to the rooms, the kitchen and the bathrooms. After that we had a look at the map and got some good advices, where to go and what to see and do. We could also use the Internet to check our flight home that maybe was to be re-scheduled. It was quite cold inte the rooms so we asked for extra quilts for the beds and so we got! We will recommend staying in this B&B!

From the moment that we arrived my daughter and I were made to feel very welcome. We received excellent help and advice on places to see and how to make the best use of the public transport system. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be planning a return visit. Thank you.

Imagine our surprise when we arrived to discover that our 2 bedroom shared bath ended up as a 1200 square foot apartment. Aldo was a gracious host, spoke excellent English and had great tips on places to go and things to do.

Aldo and Daniela are amazing! This was our last B&B on our month-long holiday and you know how you're ready to be home but still excited about the sites? This was like coming home. Aldo, who speaks perfect English, is a gracious and inviting host who attends to every detail, down to arranging for our shuttle to the airport while we were sightseeing. His adorable wife also welcomes guests with a cheerful attitude and bright smile. The location is wonderful, just as described- private and easily accessable. I put a 4 instead of 5 for noise, but its Rome for goodness sake, we were expecting much worse! We'll be back for sure and would recommend it to anyone!

lovely friendly couple, but very heavy smokers & common areas stank very strongly of cigarettes. The bath was not cleaned as throughly as it should have been, and even being the first to use it after the cleaner had been, there was signs of the previous occupants left behind!

Our general review would mark the Bologna as excellent. This is mainly due to the owner of the place, mr. Sanguinetti, who was very welcoming and with a great understanding of the needs of the traveller/tourist. He gave us excellent information as to where to go, eat and how to get to places. And all of that in impeccable, though charmingly Italian, English. He dropped by every morning to see how we were and if he could be of any assistance. This without ever imposing. He is a good story-teller and has a considerable knowledge of the city, Italian history and other interesting subjects. We spent several lively cigarette-breaks on the balcony, overlooking the bustle of Piazza Bologna, which isn't very interesting, but it's a great base-camp. Just Outside the door is a metro-station, which takes you virtually everywhere. And if you prefer a bus, line 64 is across the square, taking you all the way through town, through the centre, with all the landmarks at a walking-distance from a busstop. Line 64 ends at the Vatican. Our next visit to Rome will certainly mean a stay at his B&B. Abeke Schreur & Wim Schellevis, Arnhem, Netherlands

This B&B is a room in an apartment whose owners live across the hall. Its location is excellent -- on Metro line B, and at the end of bus route #62, which passes most major sights and ends at St. Peter's. The B&B looks like it's way off the beaten track, but it's not, really. Don't ignore it because it's not right in the heart of things. Public transit is really good -- we took the bus all the time and it was always safe and enjoyable. The room was spacious and tidy. The bed was a bit hard but we still slept very well. The shared bathroom/shower facilities are good -- there are two WCs, one with tub/shower. Breakfast was plentiful: cereal/milk, brewed coffee or tea, pastries (packaged), toasts (packaged), cheese (spreadable foil-wrapped triangles), jam/nutella, and juice. Overall, our stay was very satisfactory. The host, Aldo, is engaging and knows the neighbourhood well. The restaurant he recommended was delightful, and we ate there twice, both times with much success. We would highly recommend this B&B, especially for the price!

overall a good place to stay in a good and safe location. Within a minute or two walk of both the subway and bus. It is a bit noisy with the thin walls and hard floors (several rugs in key places could keep other guest unnerved). The breakfast could be better with only a pre-packaged danish and sometimes marginally hot coffee. Minor improvements could make it a lot better but i would go back again.

Me and my grilfriend really enjoyed the stay. Mr Aldo (Host) was very helpful and welcoming. It's not located in the central Rome area, but neither far and it's well communicated.

It's a very pleasant room, fully spacious and clean. Our room didn`t have the bathroom inside but thy gave us one that was outside -fully big also- and we kept the key. It`s located next to the bus stop and the metro.

I would highly recommend staying at this bed and breakfast it is very convenient to the public transports. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and we even got a free upgrade to a ensuite room. The only point that I could mark down on would be the noise level, however after walking around Rome all day I didn't have trouble falling asleep.

For people who don't want to pay to much money for comfortable rooms and which have no problems, if the toilette and the bathroom are shared, this BB is very good. Only a few meters to the metro-station "Bologna" and then three stations to Termini, five to Colosseum. The busline 62 begins at Piazza Bologna and is a good way to come to Piazza Barberini (a short walk to Piazza di Spagna), Via del Tritone (short walk to Fontana di Trevi), Piazza Colonna, Via Corso, Piazza Venezia, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II (Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori)and San Pietro. If you go back in the evening, it is very comfortable, that the busline 62 ends at Bologna. The rooms are very clean, the owners are very friendly and helpful and the prices are ok for Rome. If I will come back to Rome in a few months or years, I will sleep again at the BB Bologna, if they don't increase the prices.

The sanguinetti's are the friendliest couple you could wish to meet. They were extremely helpful with finding our way around and local information. The only problem we had was finding it. If you print off the B&B Bologna website directions they send you to Via Sambucuccio D'Alando where you will find No.6. There are two No.6's on this street. One is a hairdresses, the other (across the road and to your left a little) is the B&B. There are no signs but their name is on the buzzer for the apartment.

Excellent!!Fabulous locality, very reasonable price and superb Landlord! Above and beyond the call of duty, supplied us with maps, suggested routes and tips on everything we asked, ensured we had everything we needed to make our stay pleasurable and home-from-home.Extremely kind to my mother by taking her to the police station to assist in translation when she needed report her stolen wallet - he restored our faith in human nature after the incident. Many thanks to him and his family for a most enjoyable stay. Recommended for anyone wishing to enjoy exploring Rome. The only noise problem was due to renovation works going on in flats behind, they start work quite early! Then again, you don't go to Rome for peace and quiet.

This is a very recommendable B&B: the rooms are very clean ,spacious, and nicely decorated, it is easy to reach the center by bus and tube, but on top of that, the hospitality of Daniela and Aldo.

We reckon the situation of the B&B was excellent for the use of public transport, but unfortunately a little bit noisy. We will definetely remember the quality of the welcoming by the owners, as well as the cleanness of the whole B&B. We will sure recommend it.
