It would be helpful if there was some sort of hanging space in the room, either hooks or a clothes rail. The curtains didn't close and I had to remove the rail and adjust the hooks to provide privacy. The location was great. It was a really interesting area with plenty of restaurants and easy access into Rio by tram, bus or taxi.

All I have is praise for this lovely guest house. It really is top class and full of character, and I would without any hesitation recommend it to everyone. We had such an awful time actually getting to Brazil, our flight had been delayed for a day and then they lost our luggage so the first two days of our holiday were extremely stressful. However, when we got to this gorgeous guest house situated in a beautiful area called Santa Teresa, we were so warmly welcomed by Lydie the owner and her staff, which made a huge difference to our stay. Our room was huge! We were four adults sharing and we still had plenty of space. The room was very clean and spacious with high ceilings and tastefully decorated. You could tell the property was exceptionally well maintained. Our room had two electric ceiling fans and an air conditioning unit, everything felt like it was new. The bathroom had a great power shower with constant hot water throughout the day. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast set out for us outside on an open planned kitchen/dinner terrace. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruits, bread, tea, coffee, cake etc, and Lydie was there every morning to cook us a hot breakfast if we wished which I thought was a nice personal touch as it also gave us the opportunity to talk with her and find out more about Rio. This guest house really was a superb place to stay, there are plenty of very good restaurants within walking distance and the beach is only 5 minutes away by taxi. This guest house was very well priced and my friends and I would definitely stay at the Pousada Pitanga again on our return to Brazil. During our trip in Peru, my friend got food poisoning. Lydie the owner was so helpful and kind. She gave him some medication and even found us a good hospital where the doctors spoke English for him to attend. Thank you Lydie for making our stay so enjoyable! Anyone going to Brazil I would recommend to stay at this guest house; it was superb! Mich

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. Terms of Payment:
The Pousada Pitanga does not have the ability yet to accept
credit cards as a term of payment. Payment will have to be
made on site with cash or prior to arrival by banking transfer (fees at client's
charge) or via PAY PAL.
You may cancel your reservation without penalty up until 15 days before your arrival date, by accessing the Your Reservations page. It is not possible to cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a room indicated as "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE".
