Hotel Reviews Riad Amira Victoria

our stay at Riad Amira Victoria was very confortable.

A quiet, secluded and picturesque haven, only a few minutes walk from the bustle of the souq. Very welcoming and comfortable, a good breakfast and all round good service. The patron was happy to arrange transfers to and from the airport, as well as an excursion to the Atlas Mountains. My first trip to Marrakech and I would certainly return to the Amir Victoria.

Best place to visit Marrakesch!

This Riad is a really beautiful oasis in the midst of the Medina of Marrakech. Step out of the door and you are almost immediately there, where the action goes on. Even so the Riad is absolutely quiet. Nevertheless you can listen to the mosque singers sitting on the nice terrace on the roof of the Riad. We had no difficulties finding it, but this was only due to some very encouraged guys who grabbed our luggage the very moment we left the taxi and guided us through a labyrinth of narrow passageways to the riad. We wouldn't have found that on our own but obviously the people there know where it is. Hold ready a bit of money for the guides, though. The accomodation is very clean, comfortable and the setup is full of atmosphere. It was always a pleasure to return to the riad after a day wandering through Marrakech. The attendant Mustafa is attentive, descreet and patient. We only spoke some rudimentary French and no Arabic and he does not speak English. So communiaction was sometimes quite difficult. If you would like to enjoy some beer in the riad in the evening, make sure there is some available early, since alcoholic supplies are generally low there due to restrictions by law. You must absolutely not miss to take at least one breakfast on the terrace! The owner of the riad is a friendly and communicative man. He is very helpful and likes to talk to his guests. He even gave us a free ride to the train station at the day of our depart. We had a great time in Marrakech and a huge part due to the Riad Amira Victoria. Absolutely recommended!

We stayed five nights in The Riad Amira Victoria. The Riad is a beautifully decorated house with a warm atmosphere. It is situated right in the middle of the Medina (The walled centre of the town) and a heaven of tranquility in sharp contrast with the outside world. The rooms were perfect and very clean. The personel very friendly and the owner mr. Hassan always willing to help and answering - with great patience - all your questions. On request they serve you excellent and typical Marrocan food in the evening. Breakfast in the morning is pleasantly variable and sufficient. Nice roofterrace. Excellent value for money.

A calm haven from the bustling medina. Spacious, clean rooms, well furnished. Large roof terrace with distinct areas for privacy. Great breakfasts. The staff can arrange trips to the Ourika Valley which I recommend highly.

Would highly recommend this Riad, the only thing I would like is an itemised bill before departure,as trips, meals taken couldn't be checked against the price quoted which caused confusion, as some ended up more expensive. It was all done rushed in the morning on a calculator. Would also like a set time for breakfast as I think the staff were dragged out of bed to serve breakfast for early departures. Excellent staff but could not speak english but that was my ignorance.EXCELLENT RIAD. Finally got hassled a lot from locals wanted to show us way home for money, but that was part of the experience.

The Riad was a pleasant surprise and the staff were very accommodating. El Hassan made everything seem easy in what was a complete departure from North American culture. The meal I ate there was exceptional and I recommend doing so at least once during your stay. Negotiating the medina was challenging at the least, so staying in one evening is relaxing. You will be hard pressed to find this quality authentic accommodations and service at this price in Marrakech.

Overall pretty good place if you want to be within 10 mins walk of Jemaa el Fna. and 2 mins from Souks. Solid riad. Had a nice room and nice bathroom /shower. very minor crib: No replacement shower gel :( Was there in November so quite cool at night. Heater in room. Nice roof terrace for breakfast. Good speedy wifi which was very handy :). Staff are efficient and courteous Riad organised day trip to Atlas mountains for about 25 euro. This was worth doing apart from the numerous stop offs on the way at "selected" merchant locations. A small thing, but I didn't expect to be hit for an extra 25 euro for pick up from airport and lift to train station (both so near to place) after giving tips to staff etc. :( It was handy, but it would have been nice to know that in advance.... Note there's a 5% surcharge for paying by CC Overall recommended

We would reccommend this Riad to other visitors who wanted to get some idea of Marrakech as the local people live rather than as a tourist. The manager was good natured and helpful and his staff competent and very pleasant. It was the first stay at Riad Amira Victoria. If we return to M we would stay there again.

Nice place, but very hard to find. If you arrive in the night expect to pay far to much for someone on the streets to bring you there. They asked us 200 Dh!!!!!!!! We payed 50 Dh in the end, but that was still 10x too much..

We had a great stay at Riad Victoria. We tried two rooms and they were both charming and beautiful. The riad is a sweet jewel within Marrakeche Medina, relaxing and welcoming. Hassan, the owner, is gentle and very friendly. Moustafà and the other Staff Members are really kind too.

We are so glad we stayed here. We were welcomed with some refreshing mint tea as we arrived. Very friendly staff and accommodating--our every need was fulfilled. Hassan was very enlightening to talk with and so helpful with suggestions and making arrangements. Have a reservation made for dinner at Le Foundouk (within walking distance) and definately have the pistachio creme brulee after your meal. We enjoyed the day trip to the waterfalls (wear appropriate shoes though). Draw a map through the souks to get to Place Jemaa El Fna or else you will definately get lost. On the morning we left we arranged to have a wake-up knock on the door and a driver to take us to the airport. Now that is personable service! We stayed in Rm 11 and it was so comfortable--we slept so well. Each morning we came downstairs, a light yet filling breakfast was served. We would not have changed anything during our stay--it was so nice to stay in the heart of the city, surrounded by all the culture, and away from too many tourists. Strip away the dust, the people who will constantly approach you on the street, and some of the unpleasant sights you might see, and appreciate the beauty! This was one of our most memorable trips. On our last day, we took our individually-wrapped snacks we had brought (i.e., breakfast bars, trail mix, etc...) and passed them out to the children playing in front of the hotel. Their thankfulness and the look in their eyes will melt your heart.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Riad Amira Victoria. The staff were excellent. The Manager in particular was really very helpful. He planned our itinerary for the rest of our stay in Morrocco and sent out staff to rescue us when we were lost in the Medina! Most enjoyable.

Quiet oasis in the middle of 11th century Medina. Lovely roof garden. Helpful staff.5 min walk from historic medrassa (religious school) and museum. Note, few hundred yards from car access so you have to find your ways down narrow alleyways....fine after a couple of days when you've got the hang of it. You really feel that you're in the thick of the old twn, but in a luxurious backwater. Would definitely stay again.

Location was very interesting as it was in the centre of the souks. Pick up and drop off at airport was on time and smooth. Owner does not live on site and is not always accessible although can be contacted by phone. The place to go if you want something different to the usual 'holiday Inn' experience.

Hassan and his staff were very solicitous and friendly. He was always available by phone to answer any questions and give recommendations re restaurants or modes of transportation. Two issues however did not sit well: 1)the night after we arrived for our four night stay we were asked to change rooms because another guest was coming in; and 2) when we checked out, Hassan claimed that Venere was charging him a 5% booking fee instead of the 4% printed on my agreement.

Very friendly welcoming, clean and beautiful Riad at a good price. Very helpful in arranging trips - High Atlas, Essouira etc at good prices. The Riad is difficult to find and easy to get lost, but that is part of the Marrakech Medina experience! Not for the elderly or young children. The meals were fine (You have to order in advance and it would be good for new arrivals to pre book), home cooked and bountiful, breakfast was limited but fine, needs fruit and yoghourt. Altogether a great holiday over 8 days for my wife and myself and a great base for exploring the old city.

Authentic property as described. Rooms spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast lacks variety if staying more than one night. Hassan, the manager very friendly and helpful. Take up his offer of arranging airport taxis, it's very difficult to find.

The stay was lovely! I wish it could have been for more than just one night. We were in Morocco to celebrate my husband´s 30th birthday, and what a last night we spent in Riad Amira Victoria. We got in late, and as with all riads in the Medina, were a bit intimated walking to the famous plaza (which I can never spell correctly) for dinner (about 15 minutes away). Half way there, we realized we were lost, chickened out and headed back to the hotel, convinced we would go to bed hungry. I explained to Mustafah, the Mayor Duomo, that we were afraid to go to the plaza in my pathetic French (no English in many riads), AND HE WALKED US THERE!! He was so sweet, everyone in the hotel was. It had two levels of roof terraces, lovely quite rooms, and amazing breakfast. We felt completely safe. The owner, a lovely Morrocan gentleman who spoke all languages, told us that soon they would be expanding into the building next door so that they can offer a pool and Turkish bath. I sincerely hope we can stay there again one day! Oh, and I do advise that whatever Riad in the Medina you stay at, that you take them up on their offer to pick you up/drop you off at the airport!
