The hotel was great value for money. Small but perfectly adequate. The rooms are small but everything you need is there. The bathroom is small but a good size for me. My only complaint was that the room smelt of cigarette smoke and as a non smoker this was especially noticable to me. Thy did make an effort to remove the smell though. Well done to the staff!! I was particularly impressed with the two men on the staff who remembered what I had said I was planning to do and followed up to ask how I was enjoying those things. Excellent PR!!!! I definately would stay here again.

Nice and secure location, near Pimlico underground station. I stayed in a single room, in the top of the building and there´s no lift! Breakfast is not luxurious but it´s ok.

The rooms were beyond small. The walls are paper thin. They do not even give you shampoo. The staff was rude. We were promised a twin room, but were given a double instead. They will hold your luggage for you after checkout, but they just put it in a room in which anyone has access to it. They admitted that luggage has been stolen before. When I looked unhappy about this, I was asked "What do you want me to do about it?". Checkout is at 11:00. We were called at 10:55 and told that we need to leave. We were just finishing packing up. We told the front desk this and we were told that we had to leave now or pay for another day. To sum it up, there is really nothing good about this hotel. Don't stay here.
Italy, Apr 2009
Clean rooms and friendly employees. Bus stop to the city centre in front of the entrance. Subway at 5 minute walk. Good breakfast. Be carefull: there is no lift and, even if we asked a room in a lower floor when booking, they gave us a double located on the 4th floor...

The actual time of check in is not 13:00 as it was written, but about 14:30. Building is rather old and have wooden flours, not concrete, and you can hear not so pleasant squeaking noises when somebody is walking on the upper flour especially nighttime. The major let say 'problem' was the very limited breakfast space, so we were forced to wait about 20 minutes to take a table. But everything else were good and our general feelings are positive.

I gave a 6 for price/quality relationship, but maybe it should be higher, since sleeping in London is very expensive. When compared to other prices, this has rather good relation price/quality rel. We were happy with the hotel. It was functional and acceptable. If you plan to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, you might need to look for another type of hotel (and spend much more money!)
Italy, Jan 2009
The staff was really very helpful especially Hussein and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was fine and it's a traditional English breakfast. The room I was given was very small and located in the basement so it was not that great. Pity because if I had had a different room - more spacious and on the first level, it would have been an excellent stay because the hotel is well located.

Nice hotel. Small rooms but quiet and very clean. We arrived at 11 am and, although check-in was supposed to be after 1 pm, we could use the room inmediately and that was great! It's located at walking distance from almost everywhere. If we ever go back to London, we'll book the same hotel.

The hotel clerk that checked us in was good, but he left and never returned for the duration of our stay. The replacements were useless. Our room was #6, right behind the office, and all we heard all night was slamming doors, phones ringing and talking. The toilet leaked and the clerk didn't even offer towels to put on the floor, instead took our bath mat and soaked it up. Said he'd take care of it in the AM. The TV channel selections were poor and the remote didn't work well. Breakfast was good. 2 girls ran the room efficiently. It was not an easy walk from the rail station, especially at night with luggage, but in the day, with empty hands, it was manageable.

Excellent quality vs. price, friendly staff, convenient location, quiet. Rooms were quite small, so if this is an issue for someone, one should re-consider. It was not easy to locate because Belgrave road changes its name a couple of times by the time you reach the hotel, but once you get there it is a nice place to stay if you do not have any special requirements beyond what a regular three starr hotel can offer.

As a 53 year old woman with knee surgery I found it difficult to walk 4 flights to my room. In the future I would request a room closer to the ground. I believe my bed sheets were washed along with the laundry from an Indian food restaurant because my they smelled strongly of curry. In fact, my nightwear became saturated with the smell. I also did not appreciate the neighbours smoking in their rooms. The breakfast was simple but adequate. Location was good since it was near Victorial Station.

Great disadvantage is there is no lift and there are many stairs. Numerous cafe's, pubs and restaurants nearby. Good quality and good value for eating. Victor hotel was clean, small rooms and not conducive to lots of luggage but good value for the price. Location is excellent for Victoria and many tourist spots.

The hotel is more than adequate. For the price the location is great and breakfast is plentiful, there is tea and coffee in the rooms which are clean. The number 22 bus is right outside and takes you to Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square and on to Picadilly, ideal for a short break.

the room was small, however it was clean. it was noisy as it was on the street side and the internet didnt work but the signal was there. the electrics to my room were also cut out for about half an hour but they guy managed to sort the problem. breakfast was very basic and so would not be worth paying for (even though it was inc on the price). in the room there was not enough space between the wall and the end of the bed to fit a chair where the desk was at the end of the bed which was annoying! and there was no lift that i could see and i was on the 3rd floor. not a problem for me but it might be for someone else.

Personale gentilissimo e disponibile, stanze molto pulite, colazione abbondante di tipo continentale. Unico problema: scale ripide e strette e mancanza di ascensore.

This hotel has more rooms than it does dining tables, and after fifteen minutes of waiting in a narrow hallway and passed by a silent waitress at least four times I gave up on breakfast. I did't bother calling the next morning. Breakfast was included in the price.

L'Hotel è situato in ottima posizione.

Convenient to Victoria station and, therefore, adequate for a one night layover. Quite a few restaurants and pubs within a few blocks. However the room was small - barely enough space to open two small suitcases. While it was cool outside (20C/68F) our room on the second floor was hot as the window didn't open. The sheets were clean but the blanket was stained. The thinnest pillows I have ever seen! Bathroom was clean. At the start of our trip we stayed in the Earl's Court area and that room was a better value for the money. This was adequate for an overnight layover.

THE HOTEL OCCUPIES A PERFECT SITE BETWEEN VICTORIA AND PIMLICO. BUS AND UNDERGROUND GIVE A LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES. GOOD RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRICE/QUALITY. BREAKFAST IS ALL RIGHT. Hotel is about 10 mins walk from Victoria station, if you are coming in via the tube head towards the signs for the rail station otherwise you will have to walk around the building! Hotel itself is clean. The building & reception areas are very nice, the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. Our 2 two rooms were at the front and were noisy the windows are NOT double glazed and with a busy road outside until at least 2am it may keep you awake or the mattress will as it was very firm! Other than that the rooms & bathrooms were clean.

In four weeks of travelling Europe, this was the worst. One receptionist was confused by the smallest greeting, while the other was very capable and kind. The wallpaper in our room (#1) was peeling in huge strips from cracked walls. Graffiti decorated the remaining wallpaper. The ceiling had suspicious stains. There was no space to turn around- if two people were in the room, one had to sit on the bed and raise their feet for the other to pass. The shower was so tiny you nearly had to get out to retrive what you had dropped (I am only five feet tall with small/medium build!). There was a trick to flushing the toilet as the handle and tank did not work properly. The room was hot and stuffy with the window open and fan on all hours. Five minutes before breakfast was over, I could not get a cup of coffee- kitchen man seemed extra-gleeful in his refusal. We did have a reading lamp. I found much better deals in Bayswater- worth the tube trip or cab rides for the comfort of a recently- graded three-star. (In what decade did the Victor get 3 stars?!?)

I will never again stay at Victor Hotel. Really, cheap does not mean good, I have to think always about it. Rooms stinks with cigarette smoke as no separate non-smoking rooms. Rooms look gloomy. The bed was just awful - probably the cheapest type of bed you can find in the whole UK. Breakfast is included, but it was a queue to a dining room in the morning, and I did not have any breakfast as felt stupid to queue. In the web guidance it was written: the nearest station is Victoria, which is not true - it is Pimlico, which is 3-5 minutes of walk. For my taste the hotel was too far from civilization, the area rather reminded me of residential area. The receptionists were quite good except for one (a woman looking as Armenian or Gypsy, sorry, no names provided - this is also a minus btw - that is why I have to refer to how she looked like). I could not open the room and had to ask her to come up with me - she showed me how unhappy she was and was quite rude with me. Really, London in general is spoilt with the number of tourists coming. And some hotels may afford providing poor service. Really, two night I stayed there were not enjoyable at all. Never ever again I will stay at Victor Hotel and needless to say would not recommend it to my friends!

This a great hotel in a great area. Very safe too. Smack dab in the middle of one of the best areas in Central London. Only ONE BIG flaw, and this applies to many hotels I have visited. The lighting in the rooms is terrible and there are NO reading lamps. Almost all travellers want to read in bed, so why are there no reading lamps. This is so important and truly a complete mystery as to why hotel proprietors do not take action. It is not expensive at all to install good reading lamps. Apart from that this hotel is great value for money, even the breakfast was fine for the price.
