Too much noise in the rooms next to ours

Please note: we actually stayed in an apartment in October 6 street and not in the actual hostel in Nador street!! Room in a fully renovated appartment in the centre of Budapest. Location: great, very central!! Quietness: well, all depends on the other couple you share the appartment with: it could get noisy if they went partying and you wanted an early night. ;) Free internet connection, washing machine and even some basic food in the fridge = very nice touch! Staff very friendly and professional. I would return to October 6 street again.

Es un lugar estupendo, barato, y muy cuidado. a precio de hostal/albergue juvenil, pero con 4 habitaciones sólo. si vuelvo a Budapest, volveré seguro. la única pega, que hay que compartir baño. pero al ser pocas habitaciones, nunca tienes que esperar. y siempre está impecable.

This place is great for the money and the location is fabulous. A couple staying there while we were, were unhappy with the situation, thinking it a little bit dirty and sub-par, but this is a super cheap place in a location that couldn't be better. It wasn't immaculate in it's cleanliness, but was plenty clean. The metro station is just around the corner and you are central to pretty much everything. Plus, the double rooms actually have one big mattress not two singles pushed together! It's not a five star resort, but it's a fabulous 'Hostel and Guesthouse' (just like the name states.)

Note that "Hostel & Guesthouse" is misleading - "rooms" would be a more adequate description. 3 of the rooms are fine - however, if you are unlucky enough to stay in the "Green Room" it looks directly onto a well-lit street and has no curtains (only thin blinds) and is above a 24-hour bar frequented by talkative taxi drivers. The door of the room is also smoked glass so if anyone turns on the light in the corridor the room is filled with light. Without curtains and double glazing, this room is not suitable for rental as accommodation. In the event of any problems (we were given no towels) it is also very difficult to contact the staff. They are not usually on the premises and don't answer the phone number provided, so you have to send a text message and hope ... which is really not good enough. The location is excellent, though.

We were pleasantly surprised by Origo pension. The employees were friendly and the accomodations were very nice. A little hard to find, but well worth it. Great location near Metro stop and Parliament. Everything was very clean and well cared for. The only thing I could mention as a negative is that the tile floors or thin walls makes it a little noisy when other guests are moving about/talking etc. They let guests use the computer in the public areas, and full use of the shared kitchen. We were quite pleased!

I really loved my stay. Very central next to main sights, museums, but also to nice restaurants, places to go out. Public transport connection is also fine (Kossuth square metro is 1 minute walk). My room was calm, large and nicely depcorated. There was a well equipped kitchen, laundry and free internet in this nice, small guesthouse. I would go there back.

The place is nice and has a good position near Parliament, within 10-15 min walking distance from city center. It can be cleaner than it is.We were unlucky to have in 2 of the other rooms 2 extremely noisy families, behaving like they were at their own home and having no respect for the others who shared the apartment with. I suggest to the owner to settle some clear rule in this respect. Usually having respect and consideration for your neighbours is related to common sense, but there are cases when common sense is missing and some guidance will help:)

Good luck I did not believe one of the comments listed. Small, friendly, one of the most pleasant hostel ever stayed, great location. Cosy, colourful rooms, free net, very good kitchen and comfortable bath. If I go back to Budapest I'll choose Origo again! Definatley recommend!

Excellent location- very near to a metro station, but so central that you can walk to most places anyway. Everything was lovely and very good value

There are only 4 rooms at the hostel so it just feels like a big friendly house. There is a commual kitchen, 2 bathrooms and even a washing machine that is free to use! The staff were so friendly and helpful and provided information on whatever was required. A great place to stay and with easy access to the metro. Will definatley recommend and stay here in the future!!

For the price this is a wonderful guest house to stay at. You have a clothes washing machine, kitchen, and decent shared bathrooms. The rooms are airy and pleasant. You need to bring your own towel. The sheets on the beds are no good unfortunately - they are too small to fully cover the mattress. The location can't be beaten - right at the center.
