Good if you stay for couple of nights. Not far from the center if you use public transport otherwise 30min walk. The room was a bit small, there was no space to open the suitcases and it way far away from the entrance with several staircases to climb. Not too good if you carry two heavy suitcases.

We stayed here for two nights for a brief introduction to the city, and found it to be a good value for the price. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The small Guest House rooms are about 100 meters from the lobby and up several flights of stairs. The hotel is located on a very busy street, not exactly in the heart of Buda, but right on a good bus route. The included breakfast was excellent. Nearby, a small deli (neighborhood store) offers interesting cheap wines and other needs. The Bara Hotel seems to be ideally set up for groups, and the small rooms of the Guest House section should work well for adventurous travelers who want to focus on the city.

From Vienna (motorways M1/M7): once in Budapest follow the signs towards the city centre - Erzsébet Hìd bridge. Cross the flyover and after 300 metres/328.1 yards you will see the hotel on your left hand side.
