A lovely small hotel beautifully decorated. Situated in the heart of Avignon behind the Palais de Pape. The owners of the hotel are charming and exceedingly helpful. The stairs to the rooms are steep and you do need to be reasonably agile but the rooms are comfortable and there is a small patio/terrace attached to some of the rooms.

Jean Michel and Francoise were wonderful hosts. They treated us like guests in their home and personally served us breakfast in the morning. Their place is located a block from the Palais Des Papes and loads of restaurants and shopping. Bathrooms are a tad small, but clean and modern. We will definitely go back!

Lovely welcome, friendly staff and great facilities for a small family run residence. Full of warmth, character and the personal touch you can't get at a hotel chain. For Restaurants, L'Epicerie is on a beautiful square around the corner from La Banasterie. Not exactly cheap, tasty french food with character, style and friendly staff. Judging by the menu, Saffron is a favourite of the chef. I can't say there's lots to do in Avignon, but it would be a nice stop off for two or three days. Spend one day on a wine tour, the rest strolling around eating and drinking at the local cafe's and restaurants. A real gem of a city.

It was our precious experience that we stayed a traditional hotel building since 15th century.The room with a garden terrace was romantic and ,in particular,people of not only the hotel but neighbors were very kind.

We had problems when we arrived but these were sorted out to our satisfaction.We requested a room for 2 adults and 2 children however this property does not have quad rooms.Luckily the owners had another property nearby which was vacant and we were able to stay there.It was in a great location in the old city and very nicely furnished.Would recommend this property to anyone staying in Avignon.

La Banasterie was wonderful. Beautiful and unique accommodation in an excellent location with excellent and personal service. Only improvement on website would be more explanation as to the parking sitution which was unclear

How to reach Guest House La Banasterie

By car
Leave the highway A7 at the Avignon Nord exit, and follow the indications to Avignon, and then Avignon centre. Follow the Boulevard de la Ligne (which surrounds the city walls) and enter the Porte de la Ligne on your left. Turn immediately right and follow the Rempart de la Ligne which becomes Rue de la Banasterie after the bend to the left. Follow until n. 11.
