The welcoming was a disaster. I arrived at 11,30 no room available. I ask to have my check in after 2 hours, the receptionist said ok. At 1,30 pm still no room ready! they want to give me the room at 3 pm ! on the internet reservation the limit was 2 pm. At the end, after discussions, I've got my room at 2,15 pm. Very little room, humidity bubbles in the walls and ceiling, to enter in the bed you have to creep along the window glasses. The TV (old style and little screen) have only 14 channels you can select (5 arabs). Also the bathroom is too little: sitting on the wc you have your right leg glued to the heath system axis. the breakfast was so and so, but very expensive (20 €). Positive aspects: a nice terrace over Paris roofs (Eiffel Tour in distance), 2 bottle of water for free, the presence of bidet (uncomfortable) in the bathroom. If this is a 4 stars hotel, I am Napoleon!

Location is not good for meals but for shopping. Service is very poor if you cannot speak French. Breakfast is so good but not so much availability for dinner. The room was so good because upgraded to Suite. International TV programmes not available. Just big room but bad service.

We were very dissapointed with the hotel, we do not consider the hotel a Four Star. The pictures were deceiving. The furniture and decorations showed their age and the bathroons fixtures need replacement. The rooms were very small. We inmediately went out to find a hotel near by, which we did, we stayed at the Napoleon which is also Four Star and better in every sense of the word.

The rooms are getting very tired and I had to report minor breakdowns and irritations virtually every day. The more demanding visitor would feel let down. This is a great shame as the front desk staff are most welcoming, the location is good and the comprehensive breakfast started each day off well. All in all a shame it is letting go, there are better value hotels in the same area.

Good solid hotel room, about 10 min walk to metro station and 10-12 min to Champs Elysees. Staff at night were very unhelpful with internet, which we ended up paying for though they said it would be included.

We had a great time, the only problem we had was the size of the room which was smaller than we expected. Overall I recommend this hotel.

The accomodation I booked on the web was not "available" (junior suite) as they wroght me immedaitely. The accomodation was changed in two connecting room, not so spaciouse. In the two bedroom a total of 4 lamps didn't work (lamps missing or damaged)we asked twice to change them but nothing happened in the three days.

The staff was very helpful in changing our room from one double bed to two twins, as my sister and I were traveling together. The room was very clean and spacious. It was a little noisy since the room faced the street.

Wonderfully spacious room 5 minutes north of the Champs Elysses. Much quieter than any other property I've stayed at it in Paris. Great business hotel.

As Parisian prices go, The Golden Tulip was a very fair price at 189 euros. We moved to it from Montparnasse where hotel was 300 but it did have a lot more facilities (that we did not need). Our group stayed there. The area was good for the Champs Elysees, Metro, restaurants, etc.

The room were not what we expected for an advertised 4 star hotel. We reserved a Exective room for 3, which was very small and was not accurately depicted in the pictures. It was vcery difficult to walk around the bed in the "master" suite, very tight.

The hotel is nice. However, upon arrival we were told that we would much prefer a different room than the apartment we booked. The alternative was much inferior to our original booking. They tried to shift us to a different room & seemed very frustrated when we insisted on our original booking. After considerable conversation & forceful discussion we were checked into our original room. Only to receive notice later in the evening that we could not stay in that room because a technician needed to be in the room at 7am. This was 9pm at night & I had already put my children to bed. Again after considerable conversation we stayed in the room & no technician ever appeared. My concern is that it appears the hotel was trying a "bait & switch with our reservation". They seemed determined to not let us have the room we booked. We did eventually get the room & were satisfied with the room, but very disappointed with this disrespectful service.

We were a couple + daughter, therefore it was very good to have an apartment. The only way to work out that the hotel offers apartments was by reading the user reviews and afterwards checking the hotel's home page. This important information should be included in the venere web pages.

This hotel was an excellent choice for us. Very centrally located near the Charles De Gaulle Etiole Metro and the Champs Elysee, getting around Paris was relatively easy. The Internet price of the room was substancially lower than than the "off the street" price quoted at the hotel desk. We were given a one bedroom suite with a kitchen, which enabled us to munch on dinner leftovers. The large bathroom was to rave about, with marble everywhere and a terrific shower. Beds were comfortable. Service was outstanding, with the front desk concierge eager to help and accomodate us, and happy to speak in English! Forget about the stereotypes of the French being rude and inhospitable. Au contraire!! We have never encountered so many helpful and accomodating people on any of our numerous vacations. I wouldn't hesitate to return to the Golden Tulip or to Paris again and again.

Location great and the staff were very helpful and approachable but our rooms were not comfortable. The rooms looked more than fine but then slowly things started to break down. The airconditioning did not work at all in one room and was noisy in the second. One of the t.v's was broken but was changed fast enough. The worst thing was that the sofa bed in both rooms were uncomfortable and squeaked terribly. This made the stay very uncomfortable for all. The staff tried to fix things as quickly as they could but this was not good enough. Also, we had 2 kitchenette's available but they did not supply us with any utensils! The pool that is pictured on the web site is only available for exercise classes and this dissappointed our children who wanted to have a swim. All in all great location and staff but the facilities have seen better days.

We were delighted to find that the hotel was exactly as portrayed on the website and had met all of our special requests. The location is fantastic and is a very quick walk to the Champs Elysees. Be careful of the taxi prices as we paid 40 euros from Paris Nord and only should have paid 25. It was an excellent stay and we will definitely be back.

We booked through Venere.com but when we arrived at the hotel, they knew nothing of our reservation! It was only through pure luck (they had an apartment vacant)and the fact that we took along our printed confirmation that we were given an apartment. If they were fully booked, we would have been out on the streets of paris. I would strongly suggest you personally call the hotel to see if they are expecting you! after the initial shock however, the hotel was very good with superb surroundings. The Parc Monceau is only a short walk & is well worth a visit.

The hotel was very accomodating and allowed us to check in at 10am due to an early flight. As we were travelling with young children it was ideally located close to transport, shops and a well stocked supermarket.

I changed the room from small apartment type to large one. That was sold out in this site, but there was the room. When I reserved a room in this site, I asked the hotel directly that I want to reserve the apartment having 2 bedrooms. But the apartment have just one bedroom and living with sofa bed. Then I asked the hotel to change the room if the new rate could be kept under 220EUR for a night. It was accepted and I could change the reservation with change of the rate from 189 to 220. I appreciate this change. From first, I wanted to reserve an apartment type with 2 bedrooms, and I believed that I reserved the room at first reservation. But it's not. What caused this misunderstanding may be the name of room type displayed in this site. The room I reserved at first was called executive suite rather than apartment in another web site or the hotel's web site. But in this site, it is called the apartment. In usually, apartment type means having over 2 bedroom. The living room might seems to be a bedroom with sofa bed. But I think it is not real bedroom, it is temporary. Then I think the room should be called suite with a sofa bed in the livingroom rather than apartment. And this time, we were tourists. My friend who stayed with me in the room arraived at the hotel before I arraived. We already had a plan how to take the sightseeing in Paris. But the hotel strongly recommended a lot of tours though my friend didn't want to take any tour, and the rate of the tours was very expensive than I already knew. Then my frient was fed up a little. This situation is no good...

I felt that I was mislead about the facilites provided by the hotel. The spa shown is seperate from the actual hotel and if you are booked for a short stay, it is not feasible to use. I was, also, dissappointed that during my stay, the sauna was unavailable. On the plus side, the staff are friendly, courtious and efficent.

Very good hotel room for a family at excellent price considering location to centre of Paris. Porter was a bit too obvious in his desire for a tip but that was our only complaint. We did not eat in as there are plenty of excellent places for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the close area.

There was an particularly long delay between the confirmation from the website and the actual confirmation from the hotel. The welcome we received, the great value for money and the helpful and courtious staff made for a great - but unfortunately too short - a stay. We plan to return - via the website!
