Hotel Golden Tulip Olymp / Airport - Eching

The hotel offers free drink for the night, but the coupon was in German, and we didn't understand the words, nor did the staff explain what the coupon is for. There is no AC in the room.

The rooms were old and in need of upgrading.

Very convenient to the Munich airport. It was easy to find from the motorway. The air conditioning in the room did not work very well. The breakfast was exceptional with both hot and cold choices.

This hotel gives a lot of bang for your buck. A 12 minute train ride from the airport to Eching plus another 12-15 minute walk from the train to the hotel. Breakfast buffet is top notch and included in the price. I recommend eating at the hotel restaurant as food and service are very good and the prices are reasonable for a 4* hotel. If you're on a budget there is a supermarket just around the corner. The only downside is that the pool is closed for renovations through March 2010 which was not indicated on venere.com. However, the sauna and steam room are available for use. Overall, I had a nice, relaxing one night stay.

Exellent hotel (room, garage, brekfast) for a very good price, is my second time there (1st during Easter's holiday 2007), and it's always a very very good choice to visit Munich.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Golden Tulip Olymp. The facility is very comfortable and clean, the staff is always helpful and friendly. The location is an easy commute to the airport or Munich.

This was our most expensive accommodation during our 3 week European trip. It was as a result of Octoberfest in Munich and vacancy was almost impossible to find. We booked this room in June 2008. Our room was well appointed and had class (decorative columns, balcony, nice drapes). The hotel dining room was great and they served dinner with elegance. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and it was very generous and good. The only tiny wrinkle was finding the hotel when we initially arrived at the Eching station. There are not many people on the street in the area and most of the ones that are there can't speak English. A simple map and explanation from the Eching station would help a lot.

Quiet, very clean place with excellent service. For travellers with bulky luggage without a car the hotel is situated quite far from the railway station (approx. 15 min). Excellent for visitors with cars, as the hotel lies quite close to the airport and highway.

Although the room was non-smoking, there was terrible tobacco smoke smell in the room. The staff did nothing to solve the problem. Very noisy room because of the traffic nearby. Otherwise OK.

This hotel was FANTASTIC!!!! We would love to stay there again if we head back to Munich. The food was INCREDIBLE! I wasn't sure how it would be being that we were traveling with a 5 month old and an elderly couple. But everyone was so helpful and wonderful. The staff even remembered our hot drinks of choice after being served breakfast only once (the day before). They were all very attentive and willing to help in any way. We don't even receive this kind of service at 5 star hotels in the States.

This is my favorite hotel ever. I ended up using this as my homebase over an extensive 5 country holiday. Formal dining, best formal breakfast (starched napkins and champagne) indoor pool, suana and beautiful restaurant and bar. Can I live here???

For the money this was by far the best value we had in Germany. We stayed in the next building in the apartments. Living room, big bathroom and bedroom. Newley updated bathroom. Sure wish they had an alarm clock in the bedroom though. The food at the restaurant was great and not overly priced. We were more than pleased with the room. I would recomend this hotel to anyone needing to stay outside of the main city.

The hotel is 20KM from the airport. 10 minutes by train (9 euros each way) will put you about 1500 meters from the hotel. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the train station. Cab ride to the hotel from the airport is 30 euros each way. It is located in a small community, nice but very quite. Not really very convenient unless you have a car. The hotel desk clerk was ok but not welcoming at all when we checked in. Rooms were clean and nice.

The marks would be even better if it were not for the smoking permitted inside the hotel.The smell was everywhere(even in non smoking areas).Thankfully we had mild weather so we could open the windows to air out the room.Good access to the S-Bahn,Autobahn,close to the airport and Munich city centre by car.Food was excellent and portions were more than ample;we never left the table hungry or feeling like we paid too much for dinner (breakfast was included in the price of the room). Staff were very helpful,friendly and most spoke English(and didn't mock my German).With the new non smoking laws coming into effect in January we would definitely return.One thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant is not open all day long and you have to go into the city for a meal because there is not anything else around.Our room was extremely spacious and clean. No elevator for guest use(Emergency Only)and we were on the fourth floor(top floor).Overall our stay was very enjoyable. The positives definitely out weigh the minor negatives.It is in a great location(quiet neighbourhood);it is close enough to everything you need but far enough away from the hustle bustle of the city.

It was a fine stay. Three persons, two rooms. Very nice hotel for the price and location just outside of Munich. Just the right distance from the airport - ie: no air noise, but quick commute. Hotel restaurant was actually one of the best meals we had throughout our Germany trip. The hotel staff could work towards being a bit more friendly. And the housekeeper we had was at one point unbelievably rude when my son and his wife asked for a couple more towels. I couldn't get a decent internet connection in my room. Actually I got far better throughput accessing some offsite unsecured wireless network nearby. All in all, though, a pleasant and comfortable stay in a great location if you don't want the onslaught of the city right at your door.

The room was like an apartment, with a little kitchen and a little living room. The problem was that we stayed at the first floor, and the window of our bedroom was in the corridor (and you listened all the other guests going to their rooms). The breakfast was excellent, continental. The worst was the surroundings of the hotel. If you wanted to have dinner out of the hotel and you don't speak german, you will have problems... Better eat at the same hotel (despite is more expensive). Parking free and inside the same hotel. Perfect for families with children.

Very spacious rooms wonderful staff and atmosphere, only fifteen minute cab ride to Munich Airport.

The only negative thing is a little smoke smell in the room. But they were very nice, they gave us all informations about moving in Monaco. The breakfast is very good.

This facility was a surprise. The hotel was more than expected. The staff was very receptive and helpful. For the price this was a great value.

Stayed at this hotel with two other couples. Arrived at Eching station from the airport at night. You must go under the subway and go left along a lane, to a bridge, then turn right. Go straight across the junction, until you reach the school, turn left and the hotel is on your left, around the corner. The station is about a 15 minute walk. Trains to Munich and airport are fast, frequent and comfortable. The hotel is clean, comfortable and well maintained. The pool area is small but spotlessly clean , with towels, showers etc. The staff are efficient, but not too friendly although reception staff were helpful. The breakfast is excellent and the restaurant was pretty good. The bar is VERY smoky. All in all, this hotel represented excellent value and its good transport links allowed cheap and easy access to central Munich. I would definately recommend this hotel, as would my friends.

Don't bother with the restruant; go to nearby gasthaus instead. Be prepared for tour group crowds.

The Web site describes 3 restaurants, but there is only 1 actually... Food is very good but very expensive and the menu or "à la carte" is the same everyday!... Hotel bus was mentioned, but it seems that there was none since we had to call a taxi to go to the Munchen Messe... Free parking and indoor swimming pool are very enjoyable! Free newspaper indicated, but we did not see any?... We would like (free)international chanels on TV, but there are only German chanels, and that's a pity when you don't speak any German!...

While the rooms were very nice I had a couple of concerns. The first was that my credit card was charged as soon as the reservation was made, which is uncommom for venere.com hotels. When I later read the confirmation there was a disclaimer stating that this would happen, and that there were no refunds or changes allowed whatsoever. This was all written in GERMAN! The second problem was that although the word airport is in the name of the hotel, and although one of the amenities on the website was a "hotel bus", there was no transportation service to the airport, which turned out to be a 20-minute ride away. If you book here for airport convenience as we did, be prepared to call a taxi.

Great hotel. Rooms are excellent, breakfast excellent and best of all it has a mini mall (like a supermarket) next to the hotel where you can buy groceries. Would definetely stay here again. Munich is also a beautiful city to visit.

E' un 4 stelle, e si vede dalla qualita' dei servizi offerti. Supermarket di fronte e tanti ristoranti a pochi passi. Comodissimo il treno per raggiungere il centro di Monaco. Consigliatissimo!!!

Las habitaciones son muy calurosas y se escucha mucho ruido del estacionamiento. El precio es muy elevado para la calidad de las habitaciones. Se encuentra cerca del aeropuerto y es fácil llegar a él.

This hotel where I stayed two nights as business traveller served my needs perfectly. The only negative thing I noticed was the swimming pool. I expected a bigger one and open air.

L'hotel è dotato di ogni comfort ed è facile da raggiungere, l'importante è seguire la direzione Aeroporto di Monaco. Incantevole la cittadina di Freising a poca distanza dall'hotel. Consigliamo inoltre di visitare i due Schloss (castelli) a circa 15 Km dall'albergo. Monaco è bellissima!

Hotel molto bello, in stile classico. Pulizia, servizio, cibo e ambiente tutto ottimo. Distante 30 min. da Monaco ma servito molto bene dal treno veloce,non importa spostare la macchina!.Lo consiglio.

Ho dato ottimo a tutto! Veramente un bell' hotel, con personale cordiale e gentile. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. E' un pò fuori ma con la metro ci si sposta dappertutto!

La stanza era priva di impianto di condizionamneto (42°C all'interno)il giorno 29/7. Nessuna altra stanza era disponibile. Non è possibile per un hotel a 4 stelle !! Abbiamo pagato e siamo andati in un altro albergo provvisto di aria condizionata.

There should be clear indications about how to get there from the ariport - the name being "Golden Tupil Airport" one expects that it is close to the airport - it was not at all

The only negatife thing i can think about is that at the brackfust was no service and we couln´t find some one? We had NO forks and had to eat with my hands!

THE ONLY THING IS THAT i COULDN'T FIND EASLY BECAUSE IT WAS NOT EASY TO FIND IT BECAUSE THE ADRESS WAS ONE OF MUNCHEN CENTER AND EVEN THE POLICE WAS ALWAYS DIRECTING US TO THE CENTER AND NOT IN eCHING WERE THE HOTEL IS. EXCELENT EVERY THING.THANKS
