This was my first time staying at this hotel. the room smell and was not properly clean, the bathroom was disgusting, too much noise, so we couldn't sleep, and on top of that, it was ridiculously expensive as what you get doesn't correspond to what you paid. I don't recommend this hotel.

The hotel location is excellence, close to the everywhere, shops, restaurant, monuments, old chapels, etc. The room is clean and have an air-conditioning after we change the room. However, the facilities inside the room is a bit old and need repairs.

Normal twin rooms are not so large: I suggest to book an executive room that will cost a little more. Wifi is available but You have to pay. Just few meters from the hotel You can find a good and cheap internet center. Breakfast is good and confortable:12€

Overall, our stay was very pleasant (especially because of a kababayan-receptionist's warm and friendly assistance) and the place was very accessible to many areas. Definitely, I will be returning there.

The hotel is very near to the train station and the city centre. Well served by buses and tram but it is located in a ugly street and the level is very low not according with a good 3 Stars. Public areas are dirty and in bad condition. The room was at the ground floor, noisy and very little, with poor light and a window opening in a little court. In the morning we had smell of kitchen. The bathroom was old and in bad conditions. Check in is at 3 p.m. and check out is at 11 a.m.

Lo consiglio, centralissimo, molto carino, le camere pulite,l'unico problema della nostra che avendo le tipiche finestre olandesi sono fisse, quindi non cambia mai l'aria...per il resto ok!!ci tornerei.

Hotel very central, open 24 hours, clean; with two main problems : - too noisy in the morning due to the churchs' bells (better insonorisation is welcome). wake up at 08.00 and difficult to continue sleeping - room with very few space (7 cm between the two beds) Good for single, friends and young copy

Arriving at the hotel the receptionist was kind and efficient. The first room that i was offered was so poor it had a horrible smell and mould was growing on the bathroom ceiling. I complained and was given a second room that was small and situated to the rear with all the noises of the air con systems, though my room had no air con. The communial areas of the hotel were in a poor state and the carpets were dirty and stained. This hotel was no more than a 1 or 2 star at best. I have stayed in many 4 star hotels in Spain and the 'Terminus' cannot compare to the quality here. I would advise anyone to think twice about staying there VERY VERY POOR and not value for the money paid.

Our room was quite big ,really nice and clean. The hotel is in the centrum of Amsterdam (2 minutes walk from the station)but it's located in a quiet street so we had no noise at all. we really recommend this hotel and we hope to return there soon!

We had an "executive" triple room for three people and a standard double room for the other two. The executive room was definitely a lot nicer in appearance than the standard. The location of the Terminus can not be beat if you're looking to party. Right on the edge of the Red Light District and very close to the main train station. Almost impossible to get lost from here!

We were not very sure of the cleanliness and quietness of the room based on the previous guest's comments, but we had a very clean and quite a quiet room (considering the location of the hotel - in front of the famous red light district!) It was a pleasant stay. I would also recommend that you first inquire about the room before booking it, because all rooms are different.

Been to the Dam on many occasions. This place is over-priced for a room with no breakfast! We were initially given a tiny, dark little room, right next to a busy lift! The room looked directly out into another room. The toilet didn't work, and constantly ran. On complaining to the asian receptionist we were given attitude, and a lack of willingness to move us until her supervisor stepped in to offer us a more satisfactory room. They then started jibbering away and laughing obviously at our expense! I won't use this hotel again.

The room itself was great considering the price and location. However, a church nearby rang the bells every 15 minutes from 7am until 11pm. I know this is out of the hotel's control, but it was extremely annoying and made sleeping late and/or napping impossible.

This was our second stay within a month and as with the first we had a clean, comfortable room (this 2nd room was much larger than the first however). The staff were very helpful and accommodating with requests we made. The only complaint we had was the noise from the street as we were on ground level this time but it quieted down after midnight and all was well. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Central and an excellent location from which to do sightseeing and bar hopping/restaurants. The first room had an unpleasant sewer odour in the bathroom which was not present in this room fortunately. Service for Internet cafe is also very close.

Ideal location, 5 mins walk from Central station, close to shopping, restaurants and in the middle of red light district. Despite it's location, hotel was safe, and our room was very quiet. Spacious room, large bathroom, comfy beds, air con and TV. Only downfall, top flight of stairs more like ladder than actual staircase, but not a problem for us. Would def stay again.

Terminus Hotel is very central, a few steps and you are in the red district. The staff is amazingly nice, we had extra luggage after traveling for 26 day in Europe and they upgraded the room so we would have a suite in the first floor with no extra cost. The suite was actually 2 stories, AMAZING!

I made this trip to Amsterdam for one reason only - as a base from which to visit the Keukenhof Tulip Festival. I knew from previous vacations in Amsterdam where the hotel is situated and it fitted my plans exactly. Although it is on the edge of the often noisy and always touristy red-light area, my room at the back of the hotel was very quiet and I slept very well. The English-speaking staff were all friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was basic Dutch but more than adequate.

We arrived at 11 in the morning to check in, and had to wait 20 minutes to check in. The clerk then told us the wrong way to our rooms. The elevator would always go to the 3rd floor, even if pressing the button for first floor. We waited 20 minutes for the repair man, who did not show in that time so we had to use the stair case with baby car! Afterwards we asked the clerk where we could get some authentic dutch food, and she recommended us the olde Holland or something. DO NOT GO THERE! Worst food ever. I could have cooked better, and I'm bad at it. what a bad recommendation that was... At night the room was quite cold and my wife was freezing. So I call the night manager and as for a blanket. Instead, he tells me to turn on the heating (which I already had and was not working). So he tells me he will bring an extra blanket which he doesn't. After several calls with him promising me to come right away and one hour passing I went downstairs myself and got the blanket from him. Location is nice, but three stars?!?! Oh, and they do offer WLAN, but it costs you around 15€ per day. And it's not even secure. What a joke. You could also use the Internet PCs in the lobby for 6€ per HOUR! You have the possibilty to book elsewhere, I warmly recommend to do so.

Very nice and spacious room, with bath. Central station in minutes. Of course, late in the evenings it is easy to find "drunk people"... it is close to the red light. There are a lot of restaurants, bars and "coffee shops" around. Van Gogh museum is easy to reach by tram 21 in the Damrak street.

I have stayed at this hotel about 4 times now. This stay was the poorest as previously it has been average to excellent (depending on room and staff). This time the welcome was not that great, the receptionist was not very helpful and sent us in the wrong direction to the room and did not have a clue how to use the credit card machine. Charged my card with the amount instead of just using it as an authorisation for the weekend was not a great welcome at all. Then put in a tiny attic room whereby workman were outside decorating in the mornings and rather noisey too! As I said this is a shame because previous stays have been great....until now. The one thing I love about this hotel is the location.

Overall, great location and facilities. Some noise outside, but earplugs provided in room. Only real downside was lack of parking on property. Parking provided by private company that took 60 minutes to arrive to pick up car. They did take great care of car and delivered to hotel right on time for departure.

Me and my Partner stayed for three days over Christmas 2007, we were in the same room as before which was ideal. All the staff are VERY friendly, they smile, and talk to you, the rooms are well heated and the beds are amazingly comfortable. This hotel is exactly what you need when staying in Amsterdam. The location is perfect it is 2 minutes from Dam Square, the Red Light and 5 mins to central station. Would definitely stay here again. The hotel is very well located: near the central station (3 min walk) and close to major attractions. It's also close to the red light distric, which is a downside regarding surroundings (the area is dirty, and late in the evenings is easy to find drunk people, ...). The price is expensive compared to similar hotels in other European cities, but it seems that in Amsterdam having a hotel is quite a good business: even the cheapest hotel was above 100€ a night. Would consider going back there only for holidays; if it is a business trip perhaps it will be better to go a bit further and avoid the area.

The hotel is easily reached by walking from Central Station. Very convenient to gay street Warmoestraat just behind the hotel. The breakfast was ample and delicious and not so expensive as some european hotels (10 euros) The room was a good size, very comfy beds. Traveling with friends, all 25-30 age range in Amsterdam for 2 days. Directions given on webpage were IMPOSSIBLE and at one point told us to "go to "the end of the canal boats". What? Anyway, it's a good thing everyone in holland knows english : ) Other than that a fantastic stay - some people were complaining that they didnt get their wake up calls, but I never set one up so I can't speak to that. Go stay there - it's not TOO pricey and it's got a great location.

Close to center and tourist sites. Room was nice, clean, and well equipped. We stowed our luggage after check out and even returned there with a grocery store bought lunch, which we ate at the large table in the lobby after getting permission from the clerk. They were very accomodating. Only downside is the noise noise noise noise. We stayed on a Saturday night and might as well have been in the middle of a stadium. There was much partying down below our window. Not a problem for me though, so I didn't mark the hotel down much for this. It's all part of the excitement of Amsterdam. I just took a couple benedryl and slept just fine. But if noise bothers you, you might ask for a quiet room if you're there on a weekend. Sunday night was not bad at all.

A complete let down. It was the last leg of our honeymoon and the worst experience. The room was not a double by normal standards. We had the top floor room which was very small and many support beams from the ceiling. Parking shows private in the advertising. They have NO parking. In front of the hotel is 4.5 euro per hour. They offer a parking service 20. euro per night and 10 euro everytime you need the car. The brochure shows a beautiful parking garage when in fact it is a dusty warehouse. The wouldn't bring my car for 3 hours. I had to be transported to the garage. All in all very disappointing. Would never recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at the hotel before, so I knew how to find it and the quality of the rooms. When I got the bill from the hotel, the price was higher than I got from Venere. The hotel checked their papers, and admit that they have made an error. No discussion nor heavy arguments was necessary. That gave me a impression that the hotel is fair and square - and Venere too.

On the very edge of the red light district this hotel was ideally situated for bars, coffeshops, restaurants and easy access to trams and central station. We were a group of three girls and felt very safe at the Terminus. It was my fourth trip to the dam and this hotel was probably the best value for money so far. We paid 441 euros for three people for three nights (approx. £34 p/p/p/n). Although close to the busy area it was suprisingly quiet inside the hotel. Wouldn't really think this hotel is suitable for large groups, stag and hen parties etc. as it is quiet and laid back.
